  • I've gone over on my cals both days, but not by much (50-70'ish). I'm just starting Day 3. My loss isn't as big as Mami1976D, but still a loss(3 lbs in 2 days).
  • Thanks Karla. Day 2 is done & I'm actually quite hungry now, but won't eat til morning (11:30 pm here). Daughter is entering her 3rd year but had a bad spell this summer with depression so we had her quit the summer class & come home. Really felt she should be fresh for this fall rather than get some extra classes in. She…
  • @KETOGENICGURL don't know if that test is offered here (Saskatchewan), but will check with Dr when get labs done again. Thanks for the info.
  • Hello everyone. On Day 2 of my egg fast. Yesterday had 6 eggs, 2 tbsp coconut oil, 4 tbsp butter, & 1 serving marble cheese. Tried to get 100 oz water but think I may have fell short. Due to running all over city paying tuition, buying textbooks, getting a "study" chair, & then going to casino for couple hours I didn't…
  • Water, water, water. I've let my diet coke habit creep up again (3-4/day), so will still have 1 in evening but aiming for at least 2 qts water every day.
  • Start with min of 6, I think. So then I'll have to have 6 tbsp fat & up to 6 oz cheese. I definitely need the coffee, too. Good time to do it as I'm staying at daughter's for 4 days. She's a vegetarian, so I won't cook meat at her house anyways.

  • Potato skins might be too thin, but let me know how it goes if you do try it. I have never done them & this year I don't have enough to worry about. I'm only averaging about 3 spuds/hill. Think I might try growing them in tires next year.
  • @pondsbb I'm not sleeping either. Out of all the benefits I'm getting from this WOE, my insomnia hasn't made the list yet (soon I hope). I clean my carrots in the washing machine. Way less time & effort. First time I ever did it my hubby was horrified, but now he's used to my oddness. I'm in city helping daughter get…
  • My SIL is severely overweight, diabetic, & now is seeing a stroke specialist & cardiologist. She refuses to listen to any of her doctors & tells me she can eat all the carbs she likes because that's what the insulin is for. She just keeps messing with her dosage & refuses to change her diet in any way, shape, or form. Low…
  • Hello ladies. Just taking a quick break from yardwork. Battery died in my whippersnipper (thank goodness), so have to let it recharge. Am trying to get housework & yardwork done before I head to city to get daughter settled in this week. Should only have to stay til weekend, then she should be good. Going to look for…
  • What a good idea. Thanks for the tip.
  • I use 2 cups Epsom salts, 1 cup baking soda then add few drops lavender oil. Soak at least 20 mins to get good sweat going.
  • I was throwing chia seeds in smoothies, but that triggered my ulcerative colitis. If I let them gel, then make pudding with cream & vanilla with toasted coconut on top it doesn't bother me. And now I'm hooked on the pudding, am or pm snack.
  • Had my mum & dad for supper last nite. New garden potatoes & carrots with roast beef. Mum was a little off with me just having beef & cheese & few carrots, but she let it go once she saw how much meat I ate. Baby steps, I guess. Wish dad would consider trying to lower his carbs, think it might do wonders for the MS pain.
  • Hello ladies. Had a bad weekend this weekend but will get back on track this week. My aunt came for coffee this morning & had serious questions about LCHF. She is doing insulin several times/day & has revamped her diet significantly in the past couple years. She has been aware of my new WOE & is amazed at how much…
  • Still gaining & losing same 2 lbs for past 3 wks (darn it). Hopefully this week will get over this stupid hump. Even 1 extra measly lb will make me cheer.
  • Great news Karla. Great to have documentation to backup your faith in this WOE. My Dr wouldn't give me the numbers just told me how good they were. Going to ask for copies when I get lab work done in Oct again.
  • The pictures are great Janice! You look gorgeous and so young! Karla's right, you're glowing. Thought of you when I heard about the flood on the news. So sorry.
  • @ea101367. I found I was a bit over reactive the first few weeks too. The menopausal mood swings seemed to be really exacerbated. Now 129 days in they seemed to have levelled out. I still get that weird angry over nothing (basic housework can set me off sometimes), but doesn't last too long. The mood swings are fewer &…
  • I made 3 batches chokecherry syrup tonight. 1st was 2c sugar & 2c Splenda with no-sugar pectin, 2nd was 4c sugar and regular pectin(certo), & 3rd was 2c sugar & 1c Splenda with no-sugar pectin. Last batch was best tasting, first is more jelly than syrup. Noticed Splenda affected volume. In 2 batches with it, I had less…
  • Thanks for the link. Will try chokecherry syrup with 1/2 sugar & 1/2 Splenda tonight. Then see if it needs to be modified for next batch.. Always water bath process my stuff, even tho my SIL thinks I'm crazy. She doesn't process much of anything, but I feel it needs it to have good shelf life & to prevent me from poisoning…
  • I have a 20 yr old daughter entering her 3rd yr university. We tell her to listen to those feelings/instincts & remove herself from situation if necessary. Try not to alarm her just warn her to be careful. Pepper spray is illegal here so that's not an option. And even tho she's a 3rd Dan black belt in TKD hubby advises her…
  • I take Epsom salt baths every night & no supplements. My lab work came back showing my magnesium levels were fine so maybe the absorbing thru skin theory really does work?
  • No more kids! Having grandbaby around full time has been exhausting. Must be a Saskatchewan term - it's a grass trimmer. Taller than I am, weighs about 5-8 lbs (which is a lot after several hours), and battery operated. Uses same battery my chainsaw & snow/leaf blower (anyone see a theme here?).
  • I was never very well endowed til I hit my 40's. Now I'm losing the weight & they're deflating. Not fair. Glad to hear that others are lumpy too, tho. Makes me less worried.
  • We need to invent system where we can re-inflate them, like tires. Lol.
  • Good morning/evening ladies. Hope everyone is well. I finally had Dr appt to compare lab results from right before I started this WOE to 3 mos in. They were great. My thyroid is the best it's been for a long time. In April I was in hyper stage of Hashi's, and now levelled out. Still on Synthroid 125, my electrolytes were…
  • I am very sedentary, but do work in my yard & garden a lot. Hubby brought me a whippersnipper & used it for first time yesterday. Definitely discovered new muscles this morning, lol!
  • @Janice & Ellen. Do you guys do the BPC in morning & then supper? Still trying to figure this IF out. I cut out the BPC for awhile cause I thought it was making me hungrier, but sure do miss it.
