The worst thing to do it beat yourself up about it. I know that when I beat myself up/focus on a negative I tend to slip deeper into the behavior I am beating myself up about. It is done - ok, over - new day.

If you have a Trader Joe's near you - they have two brown rices in a pouch in their frozen section that are excellent!

I had gastric bypass surgery (Roux-en-y) 10 years ago and would do it again in a heart beat! My situation was very similar to yours. I have a friend who did the sleeve and in listening to her it wouldn't have been the option for me but it sounds like you did your homework. Just be open minded and honest when you talk to…

I put vinegar in my ranch dressing to make it thinner. I use a lot less and the taste is great!

I have been eating gluten free for almost two years now, here are some of my favs that are also dairy free: *Ceviche with tortilla chips *lettuce wraps (I like to do chicken with Mexican seasonings - use straight spices though, not the seasoning packets they have gluten in them) *Melon balls wrapped in proscuitto *the ever…

Thus the reason I don't often post on these boards - I do read them though. This is suppose to be a place of encouragement and my thoughts are that if you don't have something nice AND productive just don't post. With regards to your original question... I asked my physician - who is a nationally recognized expert in…

Don't sell yourself short - you will be amazed what you can do. I started my weight loss journey at 333 pounds, I am down 150. When I first started at the gym I got on the treadmill and walked for 10 minutes at a speed of 3.0 and built up. Don't let your head get in your way. Trust that you can do it, because you can. : )…

THIS! If you don't like the exercising that you are doing you aren't going to stick with it. Since you are starting out, go low impact for sure whether it be bike, treatmill, eliptical, etc. Just keep moving and enjoy it and you will have success. Good luck!

Don't want to panic you but if your heart rate is ever 195 there is a problem - you shouldn't even get it this high when you are exercising. You need to go see your doctor.

Pro Complex - both the chocolate and vanilla taste great just shaking them up with some water! 30 grams of protein per scoop, started using it because recommended by my doctor. Unfortuntely, I cannot use it anymore because it has gluten in it.

Gluten is a binder found in wheat, barley and rye - so the obvious is to avoid anything that contains those things. Also, soy sauce (or basically anything Chinese like hosin, oyster sauce, etc.). Most prepared soups contain gluten as well as dry soup mixes, dry marinate mixes, etc. Best thing to do (because there are many…

Stop eating gluten for a week and see how your energy level changes and your amount of sleep changes. You don't need to have digestive/intestinal issues to have a gluten issue. I did but the biggest thing for me was I was absolutely exhaused, as in beyond tired, and stopping the gluten increased the energy within three…

It is probably the caffeine. However, recent research has shown that almost half of the people with chronic (not that you said it is chronic) headaches have a gluten intolerance. A gluten intolerance also makes you extremely tired - you don't necessarily have to have digestive issues. If the problem persists I would stop…

I asked my doctor (who is a weight loss specialist by the way) this exact question and the answer is "No". Unless you are burning thousands of calories a day you should not be "eating back" your exercise calories if you are trying to loose weight. We have allowed ourselves to subscribe to this "your body will go into…

I have been GF for a little over a year and the change in my energy and the way I feel as been amazing! I basically cook/eat the way I did before but use GF replacements. For example - I have a great lowcal enchilada recipe and now I use corn instead of flour tortillas. I have always done a ton of lettuce wraps, which is a…

WLS is NOT the quick way out/the easy way out/etc!!!!!!!!!! I hear this so often and it is just not true. I had WLS exactly 9 years ago and have been successful - BUT, it is a complete and total change in lifestyle (no fudging here and there because if you do you will get horrificilly sick), it is a life long change in…

It warms my heart to see this thread! I put peanut butter on both pancakes and waffles and have always been made fun of for it, but there is just no other way!

One of my favorite meals is a baked potato with cottage cheese, a pinch of salt and pepper (no margarine). Really, really good!

kimjoanmc I love my Fitbit! I am very competitive and I love to be on the top of the heap of my friends. There is one woman who gets about 110000 steps a weeks so I am constantly chasing here - keeps my activity up for sure.

Red wine is better than white wine - less sugar and has some health benefits to it. I love wine too and find it difficult to stick to one glass once the bottle is opened so I limit myself to one day a week, two if there are special occassions going on. Remember that this is a lifestyle change. If you loose weight using…

Don't keep that kind of stuff at home. Eat before you go grocery shopping and chew a piece of gum while you are in the store. And, if you really, really have to have that cookie or piece of chocolate figure out exactly what you are craving and go through the motions of going to get just one. For me it was oatmeal raisin…

I want to loose 25-30 pounds by the time my grandson is born on March 22nd!

1. Denzel Washington 2. Denzel Washington 3. Denzel Washington 4. Denzel Washington 4. And, wait for it - Denzel Washington! : )

I don't know what my biggest size was, the largest I bought was a 28 and that got tight. I now fit comfortably in a 14 sometimes 12, 20 pounds from my goal so am thinking that size 10 will be the smallest for me and I am very much okay with that.

The only time I have been "skinny" was when I was 18 and was aneroxic. I have come to a point in my life when I realize and accept the fact that I am a large frame woman, who is very healthly at my current weight and accepts it when my doctor tells me that my ideal weight is 180 pounds. Yes, I have a little way to go but I…

I have the same situation when I eat yogurt and fruit. Like others have said, if those are the sources I don't think it is a huge deal.

Everything! Like some have said, they can be a bit pricey on some things but lives up to the "get what you pay for" saying. My favorites are their meats, fresh baked goods, high quality produce and cheese (when I could eat it). Enjoy!

An intolerance of both gluten and dairy.

Listen to your body. Are you able to do your workout with the same intensity on day five as day four? If the answer is yes, then you are probably good to go. For me, I take Wed or Thurs off and workout on Saturday but I figured that out after many trials.

Zumba is an awesome, fun and butt kicking workout that incorporates Latin influences into the routine. I love it but have bad knees so can't do it.
