  • Paleo meat-eating Metallica fan here, crikey I have something in common with a vegan :) My Bloody Valentine are the greatest band of all time though, seriously!
  • Find a good protein shake, not all are high carb, especially if you have them with water and not milk e.g. http://www.myprotein.com/uk/products/impact_whey_protein Eat more meat, lean beef/steak which isn't too high calorie, if you want even lower calorie, just eat lots of chicken/fish. Be wary of the comment about…
  • 40lb lost in 3 months on a keto diet (sub 30 grams carbs a day, + lots of fat + moderate protein), been maintaining for a month now on keto/paleo. Don't be scared about putting it all back on afterwards, if you do choose to transition into moderate carb, maintaining weight is easy if you can avoid sugar + wheat, which…
  • Quite patrtial to RIjoja and Malbec myself.
  • For UK keto'rs Nandos is awesome, they have full nutritional data online. Their Whole chicken is a HUGE meal and only 6grams of carbs and tastes so good. http://nandos.co.uk/themenu

  • Tastes like crap to me. Much prefer lean steak mince, it's often cheaper, far far tastier, natural and for my dietary needs it's more healthy anyway.
  • Agreed. I'm 3 months in on a ketogenic/lchf(low carb, high fat) diet, which is the general term for what essentially the Atkins induction phase diet is. Best thing I've ever done for sure, I'm convinced Keto style diets are the quickest and safest way to lose fat. Although in terms of general health, I don't think Atkins…
  • Fage total greek is the best, I have it most days for breakfast as it's so low carb compared to normal natural yoghurt.
  • Put on half a kilo or so. Had various cheats due to emotional pressure from family, but we did loads of walking in the brisk cold, so I think that kept the carbs used up for the most part. Now back to it!
  • Sounds like your doing things pretty good, so passing your plateau may be just a case of being patient, and keep doing what your doing. Otherwise if you want quicker results then try lowering your carbs even more; Keto is usually around 20g of carbs a day, every day. Check you have a decent calorie deficit each day, and…
  • Have you tried a ketogenic diet? you mentioned lowering carbs, but to what extent? forcing your body into ketosis (20grams or less carbs a day, every day) is an easy/healthy way to quickly lose lots of fat. http://www.reddit.com/r/keto (check the side links inc. faq too)…
  • Don't kow those particular diets too well, but in general on low-carb diets, the less carbs the better and the more fat you will lose - it won't make you more hungry, keeping in mind its a good idea to keep up your intake of nutrients from green veg, low sugar fruit and other natural food rather than grains (whole or…
  • Just joined this site today, glad to see fellow Keto'rs on here. Started Keto 1 month ago, lost 6kg so far, running and doing weight training more than ever with no noticable muscle loss or energy dips; loving it. If anyone has advice on my food diary, I would appreciate it as I'm still learning. (Most of my carbs are from…
