There are a number of different diets/lifestyles that are grain free or substantially grain free. Paleo and raw vegan are opposite ends of the animal products scale, but both tend to be grain free. I have been grain free for about a year. Didn't affect my weight, but improved some auto-immune issues greatly, symptoms that…

Just time your cycling, and either enter "cycling" with your time and distance, or "stationary bike" with your time and intensity, and it will adjust your stats accordingly.

I haven't noticed a lot of this going on, but I have checked for any groups set up for my faith, and watched for any others who are obviously of my faith. So far I haven't added anyone based on it. But my religion affects: - some of my dietary choices - my chosen lifestyle - religious fast days - not working out on the…

I moved my Fitbit from my waistband to my bra after flipping it into the toilet pulling down my pants! I know, TMI . . .
-
Except they're not. Go and measure some of those waistbands, and you'll find they are several inches wider longer than advertised.

I find my FitBit TDEE to be pretty accurate. It would be similar to using a calculator like this: http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced which gives you a more accurate representation based on the various hours of activities that you input than Fat2FitRadio. I would go with the calculation that is most…

FitBit measures how much you are moving, with a special focus on steps taken and number of flights of stairs climbed during the day. Unlike BMF, it does not do any sort of biofeedback to see how much effort you are making, what your heartrate is, etc. It only measures the intensity of the movement of your body. If you are…

Absolutely. It can make you foggy, sleepy, anxious, depressed, confused, etc. It can make it difficult to speak. It can cause sensory symptoms, peripheral neuropathy, and even gluten ataxia. It can cause tremors and muscle spasms. I can cause migraines. My grandmother's atypical Parkinson's disease was probably celiac.…

I would add a few recommendations of things that have helped me. These are in addition to having your foot evaluated, not instead of! - Also get a gait analysis done by someone experienced. Have it videoed, not just eye-balled. My PT thought that my gait looked just fine when he watched it with the naked eye, couldn't see…
-
Remember that false negatives are very common on all celiac tests. A positive is positive, but a negative is inconclusive. If your mother has celiac and you have horrible IBS symptoms, in all likelihood you do have celiac. I hope that going gluten free is a big success for you.

There is still plenty to eat with grain free and vegan, trust me! My problem is not with keeping my weight up!

At four weeks, I was doing 5 km four times a week. You'll get there, just take your time to build up and don't get injured. Better to go slow than to log lots of k's. It takes your joints, ligaments, etc. a lot longer to get hardened up than it does for your cardiovascular system to adjust. I have been running for just…

I am grain free, vegetarian, dairy free, and have recently cut way back on the eggs again. I am not sugar free or raw. A number of foods cause me allergic/intolerant reactions if consumed raw but are okay if cooked, so I can eat a much wider variety of cooked foods. I am also deathly allergic to a number of the foods on a…

4 times per week: M, W, F - 10-12 km Sa - 15-20 km

The list is too long. And yet I still have no trouble finding more than enough to eat. The worst one seems to be almonds. Used to be able to eat them, they would just give me sores in my mouth if I had too many. Then I had anaphylaxis from them once (well, a single bite of a Lara bar containing almonds, walnuts, and dates,…

I generally run/walk at a 4:1 ratio (four minutes running, 1 minute walking). That's how I trained, and that's how I ran my HM. It worked for me! Some days, like today, I just feel so good and energetic that I skip over some of my walking intervals. If I am trying to recover from an injury, I may move it to 2:1 or 3:1.30.…

yeah, a big ol' grasshopper or bumblebee in the mouth you do not want!

Are you feeling any better? At least you now know you need to avoid them!

The only animals that I have ever been threatened by are the two-legged variety, and a big off-leash dog (burmese mountain dog). I do carry bear spray to protect myself against them. I have seen a fox, coyote, rabbits, squirrels, deer, big and small birds, etc. This week I saw my first Baltimore Oriole. Very cool!

And what else changed in their diets when they became vegetarian? Did they replace meat with concentrated soy+gluten substitutes? Were they junk-food vegetarians? Did they have reliable sources of omega 3's, B12, and other micronutrients? Did they have family and friends who were supportive of their lifestyles, or who…

I still have other food issues that I am sorting out as well, so not feeling 100% yet. I would say about a month before I noticed an improvement being grain free, as opposed to just gluten free.

I don't think I have time for the training runs for a full marathon, so I'm going to keep working on halves and on increasing my speed. Maybe when I'm faster I'll have time for the training runs ('cause they won't take as long, you know.)

I've only run one race thus far, and I used my iPhone. Listened to podcasts and audiobooks, not music. I started out without anything, but it was a very small race, out in the country, so there were times that I could hardly even see anyone else, let alone chat with anyone. The books help the time pass for me.

I am grain free. Diary is open.
-
I don't eat grass, cats, dogs, or horses. You won't find any in my diary. LOL. I am cutting down on fruit, finding it is causing several health problems, allergic to some nuts, but I eat lots of veggies.

We have most certainly had reactions to fast food/restaurant fries. You have to be very diligent, if you are going to do this, to find out whether they are floured or battered, and whether they are fried in the same oil as other products or in a dedicated fryer. And don't assume that if one outlet says that they use a…

French fries are gluten free, unless they are floured, battered, or cross-contaminated. If you're making them at home, it is easy to make sure they are gf.

What foods do you like to eat? There are probably ways to incorporate veggies rather painlessly.

If I eat meat I throw up for three days. Good reason to go vegetarian, good reason to stay vegetarian!
