Hmm, overnight? Would that be long enough? I'm seeing possibilities . . .

This is why I need to enlist other brains! Peanut dressing is a great idea. I will definitely have peanut butter with me already.

I'm glad you guys are finding out how it makes you feel, and that the simple solution is to eliminate it. You CAN do it. It isn't that hard. You just need to be determined and persistent. Think of how good you will feel.

Dairy (milk) by itself does not have gluten. There are certainly products that will add it in, however, to thicken yogurts, the cookie crunch in your specialty ice creams, and I don't know what else. Some non-dairy replacements will also have gluten in them (malt flavouring, rice dream milk, etc.) A lot of celiacs are…

Probably most of us in the Gluten Free group are going to say yes, go for it. Especially when you've had such a dramatic example of how gluten affects you. My recommendation is to stick to naturally gluten free foods to start out with - fruits, vegetables, potatoes, beans, nuts, seeds, plain meat if you eat it - rather…

Welcome! My diary is open.

Pasta, chilli/taco salad, pancakes/eggs, stir fry, curry, leftovers, soup.

That's going to be what I reward myself with after my half marathon. Two more weeks!

My son had chronic strep. Different infection, same principle. His body was so overwhelmed with gluten and dairy it couldn't effectively fight infection.

I am not in the US, and assume that you are, but don't your labels require a "contains wheat" statement, even if it is MFS? I understood that most MFS in the US is corn, not wheat. I avoid corn anyway. Just curious.

Green peas and fresh fava are good suggestions. Or fresh chickpeas. What kind of fresh peas/beans can you get?

Lots of people voting for menstrual cups, but I gotta say, I did a menstrual cup for a few years, and I did still have leakage, just like with a super plus tampon plus pad. They only hold so much! If you are really hemorrhaging, it is going to leak. I don't have anything against menstrual cups, just want to say they are…

My periods have gotten a lot lighter since I started running. I often set PR's the first day or two of my period. Super maxis now are not nearly as big and uncomfortable as they used to be, back when they were an inch thick. You can get a pretty slim one with a good amount of absorbency. I do sometimes take a pair of…

If you're so scared of going to the gym, and it's going to be a negative experience, then work out at home. Get some wii games, videos, weights, yoga mat, walking shoes, whatever, and just start it. Run up and down the stairs. Go for a walk. Or get a bike and trailer and bike your daughter to school. If being around other…

It does take time. I would suggest trying weekly menu planning, and then look at your grocery list and compare it to your pantry, checking the ingredients of any condiments or other packaged foods so you know whether what you have is safe or needs to be tossed and replaced that week.

Not necessarily. Some genes you are born with and they are turned on and never get turned off. Brown eyes, red hair, cystic fibrosis, things like that. Some genes you are born with and they are permanently turned on by an environmental factor - a virus, stress, gluten, pregnancy, etc. Some genes you are born with and they…

I'm doing my first half in two weeks. I have been training at 4:1, and that is how I am planning to run the half.

Cuisines that are good to get ideas for grain-free: - paleo (meat-heavy, but there are some good vegetable sides) - raw foodist (but the dates and nuts are not good for me, and I don't have a dehydrator) - specific carbohydrate diet - Eat to Live (not grain free, but lots of salads, beans, fruit, etc. and low on refined…

Sprouted lentils, edamame, mung beans, and chickpeas are delicious! Just stay away from raw/sprouted kidney beans . . .

I was really scared about going grain free. I had already done corn free, and I knew that corn was so hard because it was in everything, but I relied a lot on rice for my lunches, pasta, etc. and rice flour and sorghum and other grain flours for my baking. But once I made the commitment, I did find recipes and managed to…

I am completely grain free, vegetarian, and dairy free. Do eat some soy. My diary is open. I would recommend sticking to whole foods that are naturally gluten free. Lots of fruits, veggies, legumes, nuts and seeds.

Yeah, that one took me a while to figure out. I often eat leftover supper for breakfast or lunch, and was frustrated that only recently eaten breakfasts showed up under recent.

You may want the "recent" tab (Add Food, Recent), or you may want to "copy from date" (Quick Tools, Copy Yesterday or Copy from Date). Use My Meals when you have the same meal over and over again.

Most of them will also give you a 1 cup measure, and you can put in .25, .33, .5, whatever. Pam

Milk really affects the moods of my husband and son (who are incidentally not blood related). Hubby still drinks it in moderation, DS reacts even with cross-contamination and it lasts for several days. Me, I don't like milk, I react to it, and I don't like the ethics. Allergic to almonds. I haven't tried any of the cartons…

I love to hear these stories. Two that my friend who lost 200 pounds had that really stuck with me were: - she was finally able to pass a physical to get life insurance. - her hubby gave her a piggyback ride - she could not remember ever having a piggyback ride before. As a child she was already 100 lb by the time she was…

Yup, same one.

Fruit would do it for me. Fruit on kebab skewers, fruit layered in a pretty glass, fruit grilled on the BBQ, fruit platter with dip, etc. Add cream, yogurt, chocolate, or other toppings if it fits your dietary needs.
