Hey, we still have snow in May, why don't you come here?

Spelt is a form of wheat, so just use it like you would wheat. Quinoa is great! Sub anywhere you would use rice (except it won't stick together like sushi rice).

It is only too much if it bothers your tummy or you are allergic/intolerant. I have to watch my intake, but 3 a week doesn't bother me.

I don't see any recipes posted yet for pumpkin pudding/fruit dip (vegan). 1 small can pumpkin 1 tub/box silken tofu pumpkin pie spice stevia and maple syrup to sweeten (doesn't seem to work well with just stevia. Add a tablespoon or two of maple syrup to take away the astringency from the pumpkin. Use to dip your fruits…

I can't wear contacts, so it's glasses all the way for me. And yes, they slide around during exercise (not as much during running as during things like push-ups or deadlifts. And they get wet in the snow and rain, they fog up when it's cold and i have to wear a face mask. But that's life. I've worn them since I was seven…

When I started running, I gained weight. I didn't realize how much I was overeating after my workout. Figured I was running and had burned lots of calories so I could eat what I wanted. So as long as you are logging, and have a calorie deficit, you should be fine!

I use a number of those that have been mentioned. Also Gold's Gym Cardio (boxing) and Jillian Michaels. I have "Your Shape" too, but haven't used it for a long time.

I'm vegetarian, so still eat eggs, but I cook lots of other things. I am also grain-free, dairy-free, and multiple allergies. Diary is open to friends. Snacks and side dishes are a great basis for vegetarian meals.

Another is "Younger Next Year"

That's one reason I love my FitBit. I don't have to figure out how many more calories I might be consuming by doing extra housework or grocery shopping, the FitBit logs it automatically.

You're supposed to eat the total calories for your goal weight. It's in cell B46, D56, and I61.

Ditto. They always told us "moderate exercise" or "some yoga and stretching" for relieving cramps, and that never worked. For me, it has to be running. A hard workout.

When we first got married, my husband could barely make it around the block. That was a tough walk for him. Knees were bad, asthma was bad, overweight. Two decades later, he is lighter than he has been since junior high school (though still overweight) and regularly runs 10K with me. One of my friends was 400 lb, and lost…

No, net above BMR should be positive, showing that you are eating higher than your BMR. You don't want to be eating below it.

I have only done one fun run, but there were lots of kids in it. Some ran, some walked, some were pushed in strollers, pulled in wagons, or carried in those backpack things. I didn't observe any problems. I know that my husband's nieces do fun runs with their kids, and they love them. Sometimes you get prizes afterwards.…

Personally, I can't eat grains because of an autoimmune reaction (celiac and possible sjrogrens), even ones like corn and rice. Some celiacs have problems with the proteins in all grains, not just gluten/gliaden. But I didn't quit them to lose weight, and I haven't lost any weight due to quitting them. My son (adopted)…

I was using fresh herbs from a tube, I thought it was just straight herbs, and it had whey and wheat in it . . .

Not sure it would. The egg provides much of the structure and the protein for this muffin. Might be better to go with silken tofu or a milk alternative well thickened with flour.

Remember that your body's natural melatonin production decreases as you get older. I have heard of people going off of melatonin for a period of time in order to re-sensitize themselves, rather than increasing dosage.

My iron was always low until I went vegetarian, LOL. Probably related to my celiac disease and an intolerance for beef and dairy. I probably had low-level intestinal bleeding that was depleting my iron stores. And iron pills made me throw up. You should get checked before you worry too much about your iron levels, and find…

Pancakes usually do just fine without any gums. Especially if they contain eggs.

Soups, stews, dips, vegan cheese or alfredo sauce

My husband and son both have sleep disorders and take it. I didn't start my son on it until he was 12 or 13, when I finally gave up on finding the right bedtime routine or for his brain to mature enough to get him to go to sleep when he needed to. It just about brought me to tears to hear him say "Mom, I'm sleepy," for the…

No, they usually cannot be used the same way as regular flours. Almond flour and coconut flour recipes generally have lots of eggs to hold them together. Coconut flour is very dry, soaks up a lot of moisture, so you can't sub it straight across for almond flour either. You'll find lots of recipes for both on grain-free or…

5:30 so I can get my workout in before the rest of the household is up and competing for the TV, washroom, shower, and my attention.

I actually wait until later to eat. My body wants to eat constantly from suppertime until bedtime. So I don't allow myself to eat between supper and 9:00, and then I make sure I have some calories left over after 10:30 so I can have something immediately before bed. Food cravings can get really bad if you're tired, so I…

What is your calorie goal? It sounds like it might be too low. If you are eating 1000 calories less than you used to, you're setting yourself up for failure. Make sure your goal is reasonable. Better to lose slowly and keep it off than to make yourself miserable and give up.

I take food, and make sure the hotel room has a fridge and microwave. Check out the grocery store once you get there to see what fresh fruits and veggies you want, canned beans, fresh/precooked noodles, sandwiches/rolls, etc. There is lots that you can prepare in your microwave or eat raw. Drink lots of water and get a…
