In the US, it is usually corn.

You don't avoid the pesticides, etc. by eating more animal products and less vegetable products. The animal eats the vegetable products and you get a higher concentration of them by eating higher up on the food chain, than lower down on the food chain.

My kiddo still has it after being gf for three or four years now.

I'm happy to help out if I can! What do you need? I follow a fairly simple routine for meals, and only really cook anything involved on Thursday & Sunday. I am eating vegan, grain free, with multiple allergies. Don't forget that when you "save" time by eating take out, and then you're sick or miserable, you have net loss…

Obviously much warmer where you live. Here you can't tell what most of the kids are because of the winter coats, gloves, hats, and boots! Pam

Slippery leaves. LOL. We've got tons of ice. Get some grips and get going! I like ice spikes, but there are lots of options out there. Check out your local running or mountain climbing stores.

Depends where you live, I guess. Wal-Mart?

Different things work for different people. I'm vegan and grain-free, and a lot of people would assume from that I am probably high-raw, if not totally raw, but I'm not. I pick up the occasional "raw" recipe now and then, but my body can't handle very many raw veggies - more than a few sticks of raw carrots will have me…

I slept like crazy the first few weeks that I was off of gluten. No energy at all, just wanted to sleep. The first time I had gluten again (to start with, our household went gluten free for my son, I didn't realize I had a problem) it was the same thing. I could hardly drag myself out of bed.

I don't eat any grains, so Udi's is out for me. Kiddo likes Udi's and Glutino "Genius" bread and Kinnickinnick white sandwich bread. All have eggs, I believe. I make my own grain-free vegan bread/buns.

I guess I'm a liar. I do think running is fun. I think it's an amazing feeling, I like the way it feels to push hard and to sweat, I love to run in the trees beside the water, watching the wildlife. I like heading out the door when it is still dark, or crunching through the now or listening to the echoing fog. I love my…

No reason why you have to drink all of your protein/calories. Why not increase beans, nuts, seeds, etc. instead? Keep your Silk for an occasional treat, and concentrate on whole foods. I rarely drink any kind of milk substitute.

Almond flour does need a binder. Most almond flour recipes use lots of eggs to bind them.

How many non-runners do you personally know who have suffered heart attacks? How many runners do you personally know who have suffered heart attacks? What is the rate of runners who suffer heart attacks to non-runners who suffer heart attacks? A good podcast on the issue:…

I would really caution you, if you are highly sensitive to corn, not to just read the ingredients list. Corn is not in the top 8 allergens that have to be listed on ingredients, so it can masquerade under "natural ingredients", caramel, or many other names. And it does not have to be declared if cornstarch is used to…

Yup. We had to have a completely gluten-free household (he would even sneak into the basement with a can opener to open a can of cream of mushroom soup and eat it cold). And he would sneak food at other people's houses. It took at least two years before he realized that it wasn't worth it, that it made him sicker and made…

I made some wonderful zucchini brownies that were soooo moist and yummy: They were these ones: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/698849-fat-free-zucchini-brownies I subbed 50:50 buckwheat flour and tapioca starch for the wheat flour. No gums.

I gained. Too much experimenting with gluten free baking! My dad put on about 30 lb in a month, but he was skeletal before going gf and needed it.

Rather than debating the science or propaganda, I propose simply to share what works for me. Which may work for you, or may not, depending on your body and the way that it functions. I do not claim to be a medical professional, or even an experienced runner. I'm still a beginner, experimenting with what works for me and…

Umm, that would be 15 October 2012? What's wrong with that?

Up at 5, running/working out at 5:15. Back to the house at 6 to take the kid to his early morning class at 6:15, run/workout part 2 until 7:15, home to shower and eat breakfast, starting work at 9:00.

This complicates things, because *he* won't know when it is that you "deserve" a reward for being good. He will not understand the difference between when it is okay for you to have a special treat and when it is not. Maybe you don't know yourself. That is contributing to the problem. If sometimes it is okay, and sometimes…

It takes time for family members to get used to your dietary/lifestyle changes. You have followed one pattern for how many years? And now it has changed. My hubby, though very supportive of my efforts to eat healthy and to avoid foods that make me sick, still ends up getting me things that I cannot eat, and we're not just…

How much difference is there? Are you familiar with hemihypertrophy? It often goes undiagnosed if it is not obvious, but can affect the entire body or just one part. There may be differences in length or just in girth. Personally, I have quite pronounced hemihypertrophy, significant leg length difference, affects my eyes…

You can overdose on vitamin A if you are taking supplements or fortified foods. If you are eating lots of fruits and veggies, the vitamin A is in the form of beta carotene, which you cannot overdose on. Though it can make your skin a bit more yellow.

I was going to say 3 times. Definitely more than 2.
