  • LOVE this! You aren't the only one on a budget! We have two teenagers and have switched their unhealthy foods to healthy ones. This will come in handy. Thanks for sharing!
  • Welcome!! I'm not on a diet, I am perfecting lifestyle changes! A change in the way I eat, a change in the way I think, a change in the way I exercise and I am changing the way my body looks. That puts ME in charge! This is a great place to start and taking the first step is always the most important one. Best wishes on…
  • Beautiful girl! You are such an inspiration!
  • If it isn't your pitcher, it may be copper. Kind of like when high iron turns things orangish, copper will turn things green. I don't think it will hurt you but that is kind of odd for bottled water to have that high of a concentration.
  • Ok everyone, I've walked 12.6 miles this week and have gone over my goal by 2.6 miles! Woot! I may have to up my goal as well but I'm gonna do this for another week and see how I do! Welcome to the walking goal Trent!!
  • Don't let him own your victory! You look fabulous!
  • Bumpin' for inspiration and so I can post my B&A when I reach my goal!
  • I am at the end of my second week and weigh in is tomorrow and will get to remeasure. I'm excited to see what everything says!! I started MFP because the doc told me I was prediabetic and my cholesterol was too high. Had to start cholesterol meds but do NOT want to start diabetes meds so I am losing the weight! I'll be…

  • According to my former Army husband, the best thing for the "wingspan" is this: Stand up straight and put one foot slightly in front of the other and lean over so that your shoulders are aligned with your knee in the front. Take a 3 lb (or higher if you can tolerate it, a can of soup...etc...) in your hand with your arm by…
  • I've walked 7.1 miles since Monday! Wow! I have set a mini goal for myself to walk 10 miles by tomorrow and per week (more if I can do it). I love to be challenged and this is perfect for me to keep motivated. Great job everyone!
  • Sher, you have taken the right first step! And there will be many more first steps but having the courage to get on MFP and take charge of your health is the perfect place to start! I've been through a horrible divorce and the health issues (not all at one time, though) so I can sympathize with what you are going through.…
  • those totals make me sick just looking at them. I worry about our teenagers that have no clue what they are putting in their mouth's.
  • So beautiful before and after but the after??? FABULOUS! You go girl!!
  • Robin...let me know what you figure out about getting those extra. I'm stuffed tonight and belly was hurting when I walked tonight. Was going to try for 2.5 miles instead of my regular 2 but changed my mind real quick since it was still so hot. Ah well...will pick up the pace tomorrow and will try to get most of my…
  • Kerri, the PB has 80mg in 2 tblsp. and the nuts have 75mg in one package. There are lower sodium versions of nuts, not sure which ones though. Robin, I see that message when I finish my food diary for the evening. Not every night but I have been doing this for almost two weeks and it has come up at least 4 or 5 times. I'm…
  • I can't remember the exact verbage but it says something like: "Your caloric intake is too low. If you continue to eat this amount of calories your body will go into starvation mode and it will make it more difficult to lose weight. You need to increase your caloric intake." Something along those lines.
  • So 1,200 cals is the magic number where I won't get the starvation mode message?? Does that include exercise cals??
  • We can struggle together ladies. I have no doubt that this will all work itself out but find it so discouraging when I am putting everything into this and getting those results. I am a classic overachiever and like the satisfaction of instant results. That won't happen with this lifestyle change and I have to remember that…
  • I guess I feel like I need to be rigid with eating what I am supposed to eat and need to learn to be a little more flexible. Maybe it was just the initial shock that I had allowed things to get to this stage and the urgency that it all needs to change....NOW! You guys have given some good advice and are such an ispiration.…
  • HCG dieters? What is that?
  • That is my hope, that I get used to it. I am not a whiner and am determined to get the weight off but I never thought that eating more food would be a stressful thing! It's crazy because I feel like I am eating more now than I did before, albeit healthier food, but just the same...MORE FOOD! Thanks for the encouragement.…
  • I never thought to use oatmeal! What a wonderful idea. It's time for breakfast and I think I will try that! Thanks for the tip.
  • The 40's are the new 20's!! :) Good luck on your journey and add me as a friend if you would like.
  • I am soooo happy that I can count my Vitamin Water Zero!! Am I pushing it to want to count my Pibb Zero, too??
  • Thanks for the friend add! I need lots to keep this booty moving! I believe I am going to walk for another 2 weeks and then try the C25K. I don't want to push it and end up hurting myself and then not being able to do it at all. I'm going to try to reach the 3 mile mark by the end of that 2 weeks. That's the plan right now…
  • Ok, so I am a little late getting in on this but I am going to get me one of those fancy tickers and input what I have walked since Monday. I've just recently started to get serious about walking. Like you, Bru, it is HOT here at our house, so it is either early morning or just as the sun is setting when I am able to walk.…
  • I hate water too!! I drink Vitamin Water Zero and I also like Crystal Light Pure Fitness. I wonder can I count that as part of my water intake?? If so...I'll be a happy girl!!

  • Thanks everyone! I am going to cut off as much fat as I can and try to calculate based on that. Hubby is going to grill them and I am making a homemade BBQ sauce. I'll eat a little and supplement with lots of grilled veggies. Grilled pineapple sounds like it would go well with this too!
  • Congrats on your success!! I, too, found the app first for my phone and then went in search of the website. Love this site! I have been working on this new lifestyle for a week and a half and have lost 3 lbs already. (It's okay to brag!!) Good luck with your new journey!
