  • Something to consider but I never use plastic in my microwave when reheating something and very rarely, if ever, buy microwavable foods. I do use it to thaw out meat. The thing that really grabbed me was this: "New Study Confirms Microwaves Affect Your Heart A recent study examining the effects 2.4 GHz radiation (which is…
  • Welcome Tess!!! :) I know you will like this site. It is so easy to keep up with the cals and any other nutirition info on here. One lesson I have learned is that you should always check the nutrition value that is listed in the database. It isn't always right! The recipe builder is an awesome tool, as well. :)
  • Check out this site for tips and great information on what you should/shouldn't eat before the race and training tips. It also lists some of the major marathons that are available. I am considering the Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham, AL in Feb. That gives me 6 months to train. If I can't make it to that one I will DEF be…
  • Ohhhh how I feel your pain! I have suffered with this off and on for about 3 years. I've done the stretches, I've done physical therapy, I've had the electrical stimulation (which felt wonderful but didn't really see much of a difference), I use the frozen water bottle and stretch each morning and before exercise. The best…
  • Bump! Bump! Bump! Not only do I love Alfredo....I LOVE Laughing Cow Cheese! Thanks for the info! I'll have to check the carbs but I'm sure I can make some adjustments to make it work for me!
  • addictions...hmmm...chocolate anyone? A glass of wine? The key is moderation! I like to have a quaker chewy 90 cal granola bar as a snack everyday....is that an addiction, I wonder?
  • As you can see from above...there are those that are okay with it and others not. If you have been drinking them and want to cut down on them, take your time to do it. How does your body feel when you drink them? We can't go from couch potatoe to skinny in a day and you can't cut out everything that is bad for you (or not)…
  • I meant as far as exercise goes. I wasn't exercising when I signed up for MFP and I exercise almost everday now. I thought I was either eating too many calories or not enough based on my original input. However, MFP doesn't include your exercise calories in its original calculations. That is what I didn't get and was…
  • Ok...that makes sense! When you choose your lifestyle, i.e....sedentary/lightly active/ etc....it doesn't ask about exercise. It asks about your normal, everday lifestyle, not including exercise. Thanks for clearing this up for me. I am going to put it back on sedentary and see where the calories are now! I was afraid to…
  • PS...I know it is going to be different because it bases it on height/weight and I have lost lbs. Just not sure how often it should be changed!
  • Added another 8.5 this week and I am over half way there! Yay! And that was with a bum knee that the doc said to baby!! Woot! I think it may be more than that but, for some reason, the GPS on my phone told me that I had walked 16,543 miles in one day...I think it lied! I walked a little farther than usual but only used the…
  • I log mine as circuit training but I think they equal out to about the same + or - a few cals. Good Luck!
  • No loss for me this week, and although that is disappointing I am happy it wasn't a gain!! Had a bad week but this next week will be better! 235 SW on this challenge 235 CW
  • LOL...I don't even know what a Dilly Bean is!! Does it have another name?
  • Hmmm...I think I will need to try this one. Sounds great!
  • You guys make me want to pull out my canner! I have a great recipe for Blueberry Freezer Jam that I am seriously thinking about doing today. Really easy and is a great gift, too! I want to work on the amount of sugar and try different things but will stick with this version for now. 2 pints (4 cups) blueberries, crushed…
  • bump!!!
  • Truth be told I have not made it with artificial sweetener but my sister did and she said it tasted fine. It sets up like ice cream made in an ice cream maker. Not a hard mass like commercial ice cream. The whipping cream sounds wonderful! May have to give that one a try. If you guys make it with different flavors, let me…
  • Thanks for your post! Certainly makes sense to me. I don't stress as much about the "starvation mode" message if I am 100 cals under my goal, I think of it as my way of saying: "Ok body...what ya gonna do with that??" Really great post! Thanks again for sharing!
  • I totally agree! 30DS is an unbelievable workout and I began to see results within 3 days.
  • Uhoh...I didn't calculate the vanilla! Thanks for checking! I believe I will make more today and try the almond extract that I have and add peaches instead of blueberries!
  • Table salt works just fine. That is what we used tonight. Be sure to shake it vigorously!
  • OOPPSSS - Use ONLY 1/2 cup milk NOT 1 cup. (That's what happens when you are typing and have teenagers asking a bazillion questions at the same time!) Yes, you can use skim milk. I have used it before and it comes out fine. I am out of skim milk and had to use hubby's 1% tonight. Even less calories with the skim!
  • Oh and...adding a teaspoon of soy sauce (low sodium) is good with this. I've been watching the sodium intake so didn't add it this time.
  • Love, love our Wii Fit Plus!! I use the yoga and strength training to start and then move on to the balance games. Then move to the aerobics section. We also use our Wii Sport to burn some calories as well. Boxing will REALLY get your heart rate up! Can't wait to add to our library of Wii Fit games!!

  • I made this for dinner tonight and didn't have a cup of green bell peppers, only 1/2 cup. I added a 1/2 cup of onions to the green peppers for 1 cup. I also didn't have the cider vinegar so used lemon juice instead. I have used lime juice. I used whole grain brown rice for dinner tonight but I have also used a 5 inch flour…
  • Go the recipes section and check out the Caribbean Chicken recipe I posted today. It isn't spicy and is less than 300 cals! Easy to make too!
  • Have you checked YouTube? I found free Leslie Sansone video's on there and that is what I use. I haven't searched for Richard! I will now! Also found some Billy Blanks. He will kick your butt! :)
