  • Our sweet, sweet Bru! You look absolutely amazing!! You were one of my first friends when I signed up in June and have been such an awesome inspiration to me. Keep up the great work sweetheart!!! Much love!
  • Ran around like a maniac yesterday and not in a GOOD way! I don't think that type of running counts!!! Missed checking in last night cuz this girl was whooped. I was able to get some exercise in though and I am happy about that! Monday = 388 Tuesday = 761 Wednesday = 680 Total = 1,829 This challenge has really motivated…
  • YAY Bru!! I'm glad you are here too! :) Monday = 388 Tuesday = 761 Total = 1149
  • I'm in!! I have been on a plateau for 8 flippin' weeks now and was looking for a new challenge! I'll count my exercise from yesterday and repost tonight what I burned today. 11-15 - 388 Good luck everyone! :flowerforyou:
  • I'm getting really disgusted! I have had a few days that weren't all that good but nothing major and I feel like I am still on this flippin' plateau! MFP changed my cals when I reached 213 and I am wondering if that had something to do with the last 3 weeks. Just kicked TOM to the curb so I really don't know. AHHHHHH!!!!…
  • One of my family's favorites is really quick and tasty. I use ground turkey and brown it. While it is cooking I take about a cup and a half of salsa and add it to the ground turkey. If I don't have salsa I will use Ro-tel or a can of diced tomatoes. I use the McCormick or Mrs. Dash spicy seasoning and add enough to taste.…
  • Bru...I know this is such a difficult time for all of you. :( We are thinking about you and your family and sending lots of love. Hang in there sweet girl!! <3
  • Jeannie, What a wonderful day for you! I, also, have discovered many things about my body since starting this journey. It is amazing how we tend to hold on to old ideas and not give chances to new ones! MFP has been an awesome tool, as well as an eye opener! Congratulations on your awesome journey!! Here's to your…
  • The last couple of days have been rough and the sodium has been high so the weight gain is not a surprise to me. TOM is on the horizion as well and rather than stressing about this I'm moving forward. I am happy with all that I have accomplished since June. Now I must get down to business! Have a fabulous week everyone! :)…
  • Choco....you wear me out with all of your work-outs and when I grow up...I wanna be just like you!! :) Kelly....I have no doubt you will do fine over the holidays and that is a totally reachable goal! I was so happy to see the plateau gone and really worked with getting more exercise in. I pulled a muscle in my back and…
  • I kicked the plateau to the curb this week! WoooHooo!! I'll be in the 2zero's soon and then blessed ONEderland!! :) Weigh in weeks: Sept 6: 225.5 Sept 13: 224.4 Sept 20: 223.1 Sept 27: 220.5 Oct 4: 217.8 (officially said godbye to the 220's!) Oct 11: 217.6 (eh...I do believe TOM is on the horizon!) Oct 18: 217.8 (grrr) Oct…
  • Those are good numbers!! You are doing great! You can reverse it by diet and don't forget that exercise is important as well. Exercise can lower your glucose level and it burns off those carbs (which turn to fat if not used). Hang in there and be confident that you are doing the best thing for your body. :)
  • I was diagnosed in June with pre-diabetes with an A1C of 6.4%. I started losing weight and by August my A1C was 6.0%. I will go back in Jan. to be rechecked. I don't think it is considered "remission" because you either have diabetes or you don't. If it runs in your family you are predisposed to have it anyway. I was…
  • Ok...I am beginning to get discouraged and extremely frustrated. Four weeks on this plateau is really starting to take it's toll. I am thankful that I haven't gained anything back but GRRRRRRR! I have changed my routine, I have eaten my calories, I have not eaten all my calories, I have exercised in the morning and I have…
  • I do believe I have hit a plateau. *sigh* Just *sigh* Weigh in weeks: Sept 6: 225.5 Sept 13: 224.4 Sept 20: 223.1 Sept 27: 220.5 Oct 4: 217.8 (officially said godbye to the 220's!) • Welcome Ron! Good luck on your journey! sounds like you have an awesome attitude about losing weight. I know you will love MFP. I like the fact that it is slow and easy because you are able to develop the habits that will last you a life time and keep you healthy! Add me as a friend if you would like too! :)
  • It almost sounds like plantar facicitis. Does it bother you when you try to stand up in the morning? I suffer with this and it is painful! I've had physical therapy and steroid injections to help with mine but the thing that worked the best for me was Advil and stretching before I go to bed. Take a towel and roll it up.…
  • Welcome! You've come to the right place! Add me as your friend! We can support each other. :)
  • Interesting...I weigh 217.4 and walked at a 3.5mph pace for 40 minutes this morning and calculated it in MFP and it told me my calories burned were 250...so this calculation is pretty accurate. Glad to know it because I have been wanting to purchase a HRM to check and see how close MFP is. Thanks for sharing!!!
  • Oh and...there are some mornings when all I want for breakfast is a PB & banana sandwich! Try using light versions of mayo and not the fat free. Some have the good mono and unsat fats that are good for our heart. Smart Balance makes a great mayo and butter spread that we use. You also might want to check and see what you…
  • And easy way to increase the calories is to eat a palm full of nuts! They are wonderful for you but high in calories. Peanut butter is great as well. If I don't have any nuts in the house I will eat a tablespoonful of peanut butter. OR when you eat your apple have peanut butter with it. You can dip it!
  • Happy Sunday everyone! I was up most of the night with my sweet little nephew who just so happens to be teething and bless his heart, he was in pain most of the night and couldn't stay asleep. After a dose of Tylenol and some Orajel he finally went to sleep and slept till 8:30. I had forgotten how painful that was since my…
  • AMEN! And good for you for taking the steps needed to be healthier! We can all find excuses to not be healthy but I'd rather search for the reasons TO be healthy!!
  • Ahhhh...the colon cleanse philosophy. I think I'll eat some Ben & Jerry's too and just keep eating healthy and in moderation because it is working for me! I'll take my chances with the cold water/cancer theory.
  • Please reference your source. I'd be interested in reading the scientific study of your statements. I'm especially interested in the statement that drinking cold water after a meal causes cancer.
  • 2oz = 1 cup that is an accepted *general* rule. It depends on the size and weight of the pasta though but that is what I always use and it's worked great for me. :)
  • Weight loss will get rid of those rolls. I started at 245 and am down to 216 and have not been able to do 30DS because of pulling a muscle in my back. I've been walking and steadily losing the weight and the rolls are getting sooooo much better. I had two rolls when I started and now I only have one small one. Hang in…
  • DECORATE! We had our house for sale during the holidays and the realtor suggested we keep it simple but homey! Get rid of the clutter ~ everyday clutter and holiday clutter. Pack it up in boxes and stack them neatly in the garage/basement or rent a storage unit. Another piece of advice we received and got MANY positive…
  • I'll concede on one point. It shouldn't be more expensive to eat healthy than it is to eat badly BUT there are ways to do it. Rather than allowing the influence of big business and government tell you what you should and shouldn't eat, don't you think that part of changing those attitudes is first making the right choices…
