  • I just found out about these challenges and bought some on Pacer and have several I want to try on conqueror. I think I'm doing Pacer London first as it's 13 miles and I'm a beginner LOL! just did a 1 mile walk from someone on youtube so 1 down and 12 to go! I don't think pacer does the virtual postcards but haven't tried…
  • popcorn
  • I just started mid-December trying Dream Dinners - not all 'calorie-friendly' but meals put together with each step in a bag where you freeze then take out and cook and eat and/or re-freeze portions. trying to re-start my cooking at home. so last night after work I cooked 2 meals I had thawed and needed to fix - meatballs…
  • egg sandwich - toasted 2 slices nature's own 40 cal honey wheat, 1 tsp olive oil, 1/2 cup liquid egg whites, 1 egg. bottle of orange juice (don't usually drink juice but had this and this was an eat while driving to work breakfast which I normally don't do either! hot tea when I got to work
  • 1.5-2 lb round roast (or fattier cut works really well but not as healthy) 1-2 jars pepperoncini peppers with juice (I used one with smaller roast and it was enough for me) 1 lb-1 1/2 lb chubby baby carrots round red potatoes cut in half - I used 1 1/2 lbs but I like taters!) little bit of water - maybe a cup big sweet…
  • Sweet potatoes are good. Peeled, sliced and pan fried in a little olive oil in skillet caramelizes a bit
  • yes esp seasonal stuff - watermelon was almost daily but I had other foods too. sometimes I get on an oatmeal/greek yogurt 'kick' - usually eggs/egg white in some form or fashion is daily for 1-2 meals..if I make a recipe I often it it each meal (other than maybe breakfast) til it's gone. usuallyonly lasts 2-4 days for me…
  • oops meant to add I think cardio burns my calories but strengthening/building muscle burns calories too even at rest and strength is also important for healthy daily living IMO. I think of cardio for heart and muscle for strength which protects the joints and bones as well...and flexibility too - i neglected that for so…
  • walkout outside is my favorite exercise and it's finally cooling off enough here in Houston to hopefully get back to doing it regularly! I also do indoor 'walks' but I also like to add in some weights/toning. I'm not 'big' on this activity and tend to prefer following dvds. so far my favorites are Margaret Richard(I'm 48…
  • Leslie Sansone's in home walking programs are about 15-18 min for the 1 mile walks and she has a booster dvd with 10 min walks. jessica smith also has a dvd with 4 15 minute 'walks'
  • I like the joseph's brand too but don't go to walmart very often (found too tempting to spend money there!) but I rotate through my faves - joseph's flatbread, mission carb balance tortillas (small is fave but have to get the medium soft taco size often since it's the one the store nearest me carries), nature's own light…
  • I had an egg muffin - this one was a thomas light english muffin toasted then the inside I mixed and nuked 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, 1 tbsp 2% shredded cheddar jack cheese, 1/2 tsp grapeseed oil. I have some dishes that are about the right size for this and did my exercise while it nuked and toasted (had to reheat a bit…
  • for me I have to sorta balance out the protein/carbs/fats throughout the day (or night if I"m working night shift rotation) - you seem to be very carb heavy for the first couple of meals then heavy protein at the end of the day along with the cookies. I eat snacks (dove dark chocolate promise(s), pretzels, popcorn) I don't…
  • if you can do something every day I recommend a short walk - maybe 15-20 min - and see how you feel. for me I had to make it daily and shorter at first because I had a lot to lose and it's uncomfortable and I didn't have the stamina to cram stuff into longer workouts on fewer days. I started in the winter and live ina…
  • if you enjoy the workout then keep at it and see what happens - at this point in my life my health is most important. I've never been an active person unless I was trying to lose weight. working a stressful 12 hour rotating shift with a lot of callout has done a number on me and I'm dealing with weight and liver and blood…
  • pancakes and biscuits are difficult to fit in esp with the calorie goal you have. when myfitnesspal lowered my calories below 1400 I changed my goals. seriously. I can do under that sometimes but not on a daily basis. just isn't happening. I work 12 hour rotating shifts and sorry but I need calories esp when I add in…
  • night shift rotation so after work did Margaret Richard Unplugged episode 2017 then woke up around 1 pm and finally did a yoga dvd I've had about a week but hadn't done - Element Daily Yoga- evening. nice and stretch/twisty and finally got back to sleep. rushed before work but did a 24 min walk outside using map my walk…
  • I don't have kids but I find workout out at home works best for me and my crazy work schedule. I also walk outside. I pick stuff I enjoy doing and as the weight has come off and I've built up a little muscle strength I find I enjoy more things. with the gym I usually went to a class when I could but was usually jogging or…
  • mine was the 19 minute cardiosculpting premix from Kelly Coffey-Meyer's 'Start Here' dvd then a 30 minute walk at nearby park
  • Leslie Sansone and I use youtube a lot- jessica smith, leslie sansone, jenny ford all have some freebies on there
  • I need to get mine out again. I really like walking on my rebounder with Walk It Out :-) I also liked the hula and run on the wii fit

  • just those higher protein bars 'gas' me up...think one had 20 g of protein. not sure if it was the protein they used or just the amount though. I usually eat what I consider a lot of protein at meals and try to balance it out with the carbs so I'm not eating a bunch of carbs alone but don't think I've come that close
  • I"m not creative- I usually munch on them raw (the chunky baby carrots, celery, sweet peppers) or toss them in a soup or add to a frozen dinner (edamame to asian frozen meals for instance). if I have time I cook them in a healthy oil then use in scrambled eggs/breakfast tacos, etc or add to meat loaf or spaghetti sauce
  • I work 12 hour rotating shifts and often have overtime so my 'planning' varies - I try to keep leftovers in the freezer as well as frozen meals for convenience and 'emergencies', canned soup (not my fave but stores well in my locker at work) and then I cook when I have time and freeze leftovers or keep eating the same meal…
  • are you doing any exercise? your metabolism can slow down if you're not eatingm uch and not adding in smoe cardio so your body doesn't plateau. I usually stick around 1500 per day and don't beat myself up for going over or under a bit. i also do light/moderate cardio and/or a little stretchy yoga to help with stress
  • you really need to find a counselor who specializes in this. I battled it briefly - think I had jsut a 'taste' and it was scary. I think it's aggravated by feeling controlled, yet not in control..very conflicting feelings. I had no stress outlet other than biting my nails and college made things worse.once I started losing…
  • I've been thin and underweight yet still my stomach area had more than it should
  • I lost about 5 lbs the first week - think it's from going to healthier foods instead of all the junk. the other loss hasn't been as much but I feel sooo much better!
  • we always ate chili with crackers (saltines) and my dad liked to have onion and a hunk of 'rat cheese' (cheddar but he called it rat cheese)
