Thanks everyone... just reading your posts of encouragement & understanding is a start in the right direction! :) I appreciate that you took the time to write. I, too, was weighing myself daily back then - which actually helped me a lot (I know some folks think that's bad - but I think if you're realistic about it - and…

Well... I reached my goal initially: Started at 145lbs - ended at 121lbs (which was actually 4lbs below my GW - though still healthy for my 5'4" frame). I'm back here becaused I gained a little & saw old habits creeping back. So... I re-joined at 125, and I'm at 124... 3 or 4lbs to go! :o)

Trader Joe's Kale, Spinach & Greek Yogurt Dip!!! It's only like 30 calories or something for 2 Tablespoons. And it goes great on a rice cake or as a dip for baby carrots. It's soooo yummy and SO few calories!

I can SO relate to those things! There were other things, too... life goals for me, but ^^ was totally true, too!

Took this in June of 2012... and she still looks as beautiful as ever!

The only thing that kind of bugs me is folks who either 1) Don't clean up after themselves (leave trash in a locker, empty shampoo bottles in the showers, used paper towels on the counters, etc.) and 2) Don't turn off their machine's TV when they're done. I walk in and there are 3 empty treadmills with 3 TVs going... just…

TEA SAVED ME!!! :) Seriously - it totally helped me reach my GW for the same reasons... it curbed my cravings! My favorite teas I found that helped me: 1. Coconut Chai (by Zhena's Gypsy Tea - black tea, though!) 2. Sugar Plum (by Celestial Seasoning - it's seasonal, but you can get it from their web site!) 3. Bengal Spice…

I grew up with 4 men, including my burly union laborer dad... so this gal is actually starving for "girly" stuff! Haha! Yet I am who I am - I work in a male dominated industry and was a volunteer firefighter for fun for 10 years. I don't mind manual labor at all. I can fix my own car (for most stuff), and I enjoy it. I can…

Hamstrings are the backs of your legs. Here's a nice simple article I just found with an explaination on hamstring involvment & some stretches. http://www.womenfitness.net/hamstring_back.htm Cheers!

It sounds like you need to take baby steps! Plank is excellent - but it's hard, so don't be discouraged if you can't do it for long at 1st! I do think it's good for all over core strengthing, though. I would NOT do "superman's" until you gain more strength- they are good, but back extensions are hard on you. I would focus…

I was able to drop beer, wine, and most alcohol with no prob. BUT... I have a weakness for margaritas in the summertime. Ugh! Talk about empty (but yummy) calories. And there always seems to be a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa right next to the glass, too... damn you!!! Haha!

I was in a very similar boat. I really think you will find MFP very helpful. We sound similar - I came on here to drop about 20 lbs. or so, and keep it off. I hit my goal (I started this at around 145 lbs., and I am now at 122 lbs.), and continue to use MFP for support to keep me level headed! Call out to your friends,…

A 1997 White Honda Civic. It's the newest car I've ever owned (before this I had a 1980 Datsun). It was also the most money I ever spent on a car... $5K. It gets great gas mileage, is easy to park, & it is totally reliable (which makes it a dream car). I would recommend a used Honda to anyone who is looking for a daily…

We have two large veggie gardens - and my goal for this week (and all summer) is not to let any of those fresh veggies go to waste! I'm eating a ton more veggies that way - and sharing with people at work. Green beans, various squash, peppers, tomatoes, cucumber, snap peas, lettuce, asparagus, celery, strawberries, and…

I totally agree with all the comments so far - especially the ones about "body type." Still, I want to add another suggestion that may help you achieve long lean muscle. Look into a Bar Class - for example "Karve (located in Arizona & Utah, I think), "Bar Method" (all over U.S.) or "Dailey Method." Also - a good Pilates…

My guy ROCKS - and I love him to no end. Is he on board? Well... not really. I mean - he eats what I cook and never complains. He's almost always up for a walk. But he eats a lot!!! And he's a snacker - which is tough for me at times. Especially when he busts out a sack of tortilla chips and homemade guacamole - or cuts up…

I LOVE Mr. Rogers so much. He was so special... really helped me as I was growing up. You HAVE to see this video on You Tube - it's done by the Symphony of Science folks. It's called "Garden of Your Mind" - a Mr. Rogers remix... very cool. Here's the link (cut and paste): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFzXaFbxDcM

Love cucumber in my water! Or some mint leaves! I also sometimes add a splash of fruit juice. For an intense workout - I like Nuun tabs. I use just a half a tab, generally! Also... some days I drink an "Emergen-C" - I like all flavors!

Oh man - that is a TON of fiber and an awful lot of protein. I bet it's just too heavy and way more fiber (all in one sitting) than your system is use to. Fiber is awesome, but when I take in that amount of fiber (especially soluable fiber) - I get super full and bloated, too. Give you body time to adjust - those little…

I, too, would like to offer some words of support. Like many of these posters have said (in so many words), you are precious.... you are not a burden... you are not a drain on society. There are no easy answers, and those who tell you to "snap out of it" are simply ignorant of the suffering you experience. Things can…

146lbs I believe was my heaviest weight. I've been maintaining between 121-123 for the past few months. :)

Wow... I can see the resemblance for sure! What a wierdo, though! hahaha! Anyway, I've been told I look like Cate Blanchett - though from this profile pic... I probably look like Mr. Ed!

I'll check her out, thanks for the suggestion. :o)
