As many have said on here...don't worry too much about it unless you are feeling pain and pressure at the higher rates. I'm 40, run 40-50 miles per week, always with a HRM because it helps give me a more accurate estimation of calorie burn (I love numbers and statistics, sorry, I'm a nerd). My normal "easy pace" is about…

I was at a pack a day for a long time before I started running a few years ago. I did the Chantix thing--did NOT work for me because although it decreased the urges and cravings, it also gave me pretty nasty dreams, when I could sleep at all. My only motivation to continue cutting back (and finally quitting soon, I hope)…

Unfortunately, yes, I do. I know all the reasons not to backward and forward. Doesn't seem to make a difference though. I am down to a pack a week, so at least I've made some progress.

Classy.

My local specialty running store (1st Place Sports in Jacksonville, FL) has never steered me wrong. Ten minutes of analysis of arch and pressure areas and a couple minutes of rolling tape of your form on the treadmill, and they will have you in exactly the shoe you need (although they never pressure me to buy it from…

I'm wondering if I'm too boring to have anything interesting to confess.

I am browsing the MFP forums while on duty....because there is NOTHING going on and I'm stuck here for 12 hours.

I have been maintaining between 160-163 lbs for the past ten months (after my 2-year, 53-lb loss), which is basically my high school weight. At least once a week someone makes a comment about "stop losing weight!" or something similar. At first I tried explaining that I haven't been losing weight, I am where I want to be…

I like the way you think...

Second date with someone I'd met at a club in Orlando...the kiss when I took her home was all teeth from her end, like she was trying to bite out my tonsils. Really, really weird. Didn't call her back.

Wondering how soundproof this office is...

Great, now what am I supposed to do? Stuck at work for four more hours still.
-
Certainly several...one knows very well, two others not so much. It would ruin it if I named (user)names.

I live in Jacksonville, Florida. Therefore, a "hill" is a bridge.

Lately I've been hooked on Lindsey Sterling. Rock violin. Totally unexpected but I heard her on a cover of "Radioactive" that she did with the acapella band Pentatonix, and went looking for more of her music. It is calming and energizing at the same time, perfect for a run!

7 miles today, 18 total for June so far, 662 for the year.

Moving..... And buying binoculars.

Wow. Yes.

Ignore it if you need the music. I do. I've done it over 100 times. No issues, ever. Just keep the volume low enough that you can hear ambient noises around you to help avoid any collisions, etc. (not that I've ever seen it happen).
-
Um.....ignore them and freaking RUN????? Easy answer. Sheesh.

Do a Higdon training plan. It will make you put the right mileage in and more importantly, the right mix of runs (tempo, speedwork, easy, long) I started a couple years ago and was around a 9 1/2 pace. Now 5k pace is 6:40, 10k 6:50, half-marathon 7:30, marathon 8:30.

Well, if you're looking for three more that you don't intend or expect to stay with, I'm sure you'd have ample volunteers to be temporary boyfriends #10, 11, and 12....... Is this a serious post? I have plenty of friends who didn't get married until their 30s. Certainly have never heard a mid-20s young lady express concern…

Raising hand......!

Damn. The car beat me to it. "Wow" was for JustAmyDawn, although the car is nice.

Wow!

TRUE! :)

True. But out of practice. Piano. TNP drives a hybrid vehicle.

Absolutely. Adorable smile.

110 people in the ENTIRE school. And it was a K-12 school. Graduating class was all of NINE of us.

Definitely go on a run together, because you would be challenging to keep up with!
