Without hesitation.

You don't seem that scary to me...

I don't need to be special--and I enjoy a good back-and-forth flirt! Insecurity causes someone to label a harmless flirt as "teasing."

Essjay--she is an amazing, dedicated woman, super-fit, and absolutely gorgeous!

I've recently gotten back on MFP to get back on track. Could use an accountability partner myself. Is there a formal application and interview process?
-
True. Or at least has something interesting to read in his/her profile.

I accept pretty much anyone. More fun that way.

Well, I am now!

42 here in Florida. Dropped about 65 pounds a couple years ago and I am trying to get back down after an injury sidelined me for awhile (need to get rid of the 20 I gained)--happy to provide encouragement if anyone wants it.

Shalane Flanagan. Beauty, speed, power, and personality.

You don't seem to have anything to worry about, from what I can see...

I made it through a chapter and a half trying to slog through that pathetic excuse for literature. 4th-grade-level writing skill that the author attempted to hide behind hypersexualized plot lines. The fact that so many people buy this crap and proclaim it to be great says quite a bit (none of it positive) about the…

Yes--this is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. I was the poster child for "don't talk to a recruiter if you don't know anything about military jobs." It worked out well for me in the end, but the first few years I was rather bitter as I clawed my way out of a rating that was not something I wanted to do for a career…

19 years of service (Navy), 1 more to go. Retiring next fall. If you decide you want to join, research all your options BEFORE talking to a recruiter...I'm not trying to say anthing negative about them, but remember they are trying to sell you a product--and therefore may not present to you everything that is available. So…

:) Might be a wise move! Too bad.

Show me a little more...

Spot on.

Six weeks? Try six months. Or eight or more.... Six weeks is child's play.

I'm very fond of this answer! Perfect way to describe it, really. We're all pretty much past our Olympic primes, so "good" is what makes us feel good as runners. :)

My first one in 2010 was about 32 minutes. I've gotten it down to 20:43 now. As far as what is "good," that depends on your goal: are you desiring a competitive time, or are you satisfied with the accomplishment of completing a race, since you're just beginning? My advice in that matter is to just enjoy the atmosphere of…

I will! I miss the Steel City!

Probably would.

Sure hope so...

Just estimate the best you can. It won't happen often and the difference won't be so large that it will cause you problems. This app is as beneficial as you want it to be--it can either be a big help to keep your mindset right, or it can be an obsessive dictator if you insist on getting it 100% right calorie for calorie.

Got it--that's a whole different story! :) 1) Do you have a specialty running store near you? If so, go see them! They will analyze your feet for arch type, pressure distribution, etc. and observe your running form on the treadmill, then give you a good recommendation for a shoe type/style that will be best for you. Make…

Do you just need a new pair, or you're wanting to change to something totally different than what you've been running in? What are you running in now? What I wear depends on the distance and speed I'm intending. Saucony Cortana (8mm drop, not quite minimalist) for normal training/easy runs; Saucony Kinvara (4mm drop…
