Maybe you could try eating slower, a meal "should" take you about 30 minutes to eat. Eat mindfully and enjoy, don't snarf. :P

I think it's really great that you stuck with it for 2 years, and are continuing with it. Realistic goals at a realistic pace. Awesome!

Go head with your bad self! :P

Fantastic!

Oh! And I lowered my blood pressure by a lot, got my diabetes under control without medication anymore, and completely cured my liver disease. And now that this plateau is over, I'm losing again. :)

I love the BMR TDEE method! I also love eating a lot of protein and veggies. I didn't really lose many pounds, 10 in 4 months, but everything on my body has lifted, I'm a pants size smaller, I have mad energy and strength (since I coupled this lifestyle with strength training.) I absolutely love it. The best parts too are…

I'm not an expert but some ideas are: 1. Look into Primal lifestyle and ketosis (staying around 50-150g of carbs a day.) Although, just flipping thru a few days of your diary, looks like you stay around the 150 range on average... Perhaps try shooting for 50-75 carbs per day, and those only being from complex carbs…

My suggestion...ask her what part of Africa she is from. Go to Google Translate and write down (on a piece of paper) the phrase "Write down what this dish is called" and give her the paper and a pen. Have her write down the dish name in her language. Go back to Google Translate and type it in. You could even find out how…

I've trained myself to be able to eat practically anything for breakfast...so last night's dinner of chicken and vegetables works just fine for my breakfast meal. I do have protein shakes, sausage, eggs, cheese, etc as well in the morning, don't get me wrong. When I first started trying to get more protein in, the thought…

Next time say "Jealous is, as Jealous does!" in response and keep running :P

Sounds like you understand whats going on (half the battle) and are going to make it work. Sounds wonderful to me, you can do this! I have faith in you.

Sometimes, when I need to, I just take a break. I try not to go crazy...of course, but I just took 2 weeks off from logging all my foods (I still log into MFP daily and write on people's walls when I can.) I just enjoyed not stressing about it and spent time on feeling better. Now that I feel better, I'm back to doing…

lol, great description and wonderful job!

I would just say to keep making "exercise" fun. Try out new ways, like soccer, hiking at different places, swimming etc. Mix it up and keep it light and fun! Make it more about doing things together and maybe...exploring together than "working out." Just be there for her as well like others have suggested, and maybe help…

I do take breaks, mostly so that I do not get burned out with exercise. It also gives my mind and body a chance to unwind and perhaps take some of that time to work on another project. For me, this is a life-long commitment, so missing some workouts isn't really a big deal.

Lots of great information on that page though, Zombies, Run! looks like loads of fun (Saw it down in the comments section.) I love Gizmodo and web sites like it!

Combination California girl and Southern accent. O.O I often asked where my accent is from as they strain to try and pick out the accent/s they are hearing.

I've changed from whole milk, all the way down to nonfat milk, then switched to soy (then learned what you learned) then moved to almond milk and am now on am almond milk/coconut blend with the intention of transitioning to coconut at some point. Baby steps work best for me when making changes...and I think coconut is the…

I know exactly how you feel....we are our toughest critics.

Some things should never go without mayo. I don't think I could completely eliminate mayo from my diet. In moderation, what's the big deal?

Wonderful job! Plus, the endorphin we get from exercising probably really helps with the depression. Keep it up!

I do high fat and protein and low carbs myself...but for the healthy fats, pumpkin seeds, avocados (yum!), olive oil (I use flavored evoo, like Mediterranean flavor, garlic, truffle oil, and put that on my greens along with my other veggies and a protein for an awesome salad.) olive oil has high fat per tsp. Also, I save…

Makes sense to me, your body is working overtime to fight off a virus. It might need more calories to maintain that rate of fighting...

MFP, for sure. You're going to get real information from people who care about losing weight, adding lean muscle, and learning how to eat for fuel, not for calorie intake. I have heard many negative stories about WW as well, especially that they don't care about your health, just how many calories in and out. I'd much…

I limit my wheat - I find that it makes me feel bloated and get gassy. :( Two things not conducive to me being happy.

Doesn't sound like she is doing anything crazy, no. She is might just be feeling very passionate about reaching her goals and has extra energy to find ways to do so since she has just started. I think we all get a big "gung ho" at the beginning. I think it's great that she has changed her eating habits and is checking…
