Beautiful San Diego. Born and raised. I think I was in my teens before it dawned on me that not everyone has a beach. =O

I'm researching that myself, but from what I can tell from these message boards, any Polar HRM is a good investment. The two models that keep popping up on the boards are the FT4 and FT7. The 7 is more expensive than the 4, but both seem to be highly used.

You'll get mixed answers on this, but the majority feel (as do I) that MFP is too high on their calories burned number. Best way to really know is to invest in a good heart rate monitor.

MFP. Hands down. Any recommendations on a good kitchen scale?

Nine kids: 7 girls and 2 boys. Oldest is 22, youngest is 3. Absolutely LOVE being a mom and having a houseful of kids. But I definitely couldn't do it without a hands-on, supportive husband. Best. Dad. Ever.

I've only been looking at HRMs for a couple days now and it looks like a good Polar (which is what everyone recommends) is around $50-$100, depending on the model. So, yes, it's a bit pricey.

I posted a similar question and it seems the majority opinion is that MFP is way over on their calorie burned estimate. Really the best accurate way to estimate your calorie burn is to invest in a good heart rate monitor.

Which Bootcamp do you use?

Thank you! Will rely on my HRM.

Amino Energy from Optimum Nutrition. Not found in many stores, though if you have a Vitamin Shoppe around, they do carry them. But can find them online easily. This is my "coffee", so to speak. Tastes great (the grape anyway) and gives you a definite boost!

I have two in high school this year, and have graduated three (2007, 2010, 2011). We also are eclectic in our approach. I used a lot of textbooks (A Beka) for the first one because I was too scared to do anything else. However, now, we don't use many textbooks. We use Notgrass for history, Teaching Textbooks for math,…

So glad to see so many homeschooling moms on here! My name is Vicki and we have nine children, from 22 to 3 years old. We live in San Diego, CA. We've been homeschooling 17 years. The first three are graduated, homeschooled all the way through. This year we have five school-aged kids: 10th, 9th, 5th, 3rd, and K. And a…

To summarize what everyone else is saying: 1. Get good shoes. 2. Go slow. I was never a runner either and here is my story (from my blog, but I pasted it here) My Love/Hate Relationship with Exercise (from www.busymomofnine.blogspot.com) Actually the title of this post is a lie. I don’t have a love/hate relationship with…

Very inspiring! Thanks for sharing. 85 lbs is my ultimate goal. I'm almost half-way and already feel like I have a new lease on life. Keep it up!
