Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes Did I exercise for 20+ minutes? yes Did I keep track of everyting I ate and drank? yes Knowing I had to check-in today kept me away from the donuts and bagels at a New Year's breakfast today. Happy to be back on track and anxious to re-lose what I've gained in the last…

Hi, my name is Vicki and I was doing great on MFP for over 550 days, and then fell off the wagon. I was up to a loss of 60 pounds, but gained about 15 back in the last few months. I need something like this to get back on track and lose my goal of 20 pounds in 2014. Thanks for hosting this. I hosted a Group last year and…

Just about done planning for the year. I'll have six in school this year: Kinder, 2nd, 5th, 7th, 11th, 12th. This will be my first year in 19 years of homeschooling that I won't have a preschooler or baby in tow. Weird feeling. Doing Kindergarten for the very last time. Excited for the year to start!

Great information! Very helpful. Thank you for the input. Can't believe this will one day take an hour to do! =O I'm looking forward to that!!!!! I'm embarrassingly weak at the moment. I'm excited to not be mortified to post real numbers in the group. Thanks again!

Totally HATED every form of exercise, and I tried them all. Everyone kept saying "find something you like", but that was the problem. It didn't exist. I simply did not enjoy any form of exercise. But I was desperate to lose weight, so I applied my life's philosophy to working out...FFF (Feelings Follow Form). Often we…

Blueberries or cherries (frozen), with almonds and organic chocolate chips. Wow.

I think MFP sets the macros kinda high in carbs, which when I first started was great because I'm a carb lover. But I've slowly messed with the percentages and am now at 35/35/30 (carb/protein/fat), meaning pretty close to balanced. I'd try messing with the macros until you find something that works for you and still…

Polar FT4 as well! Great price, super easy to use. Worth every penny.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Much appreciated!

I'm at 1200-ish and my diary is public. Feel free to add me. As you can see, some people have pretty strong feelings about 1200/calorie diets. But after 60 pounds lost, and going from zero exercise to now running 20 miles a week and regular strength training at the gym, I beg to differ. I'm in the best shape of my life,…

Just finished day two. I'm doing it as a second workout, with a goal of four days a week. Hoping it helps jumpstart the weight loss again. Slowing down with that and still have 25 pounds to go. I use 3 or 5 lb weights, depending on the exercise. Those slow bicycle crunches are the only exercise on level one I still can't…

I just posted a similar question yesterday. With my HRM, I burn about 300-400, but am trying to increase that to 500-600. If I went by my apps and MFP, I'd already be there. But I want to REALLY be there!
-
I'm also on 1200 calories a day and do not eat back exercise calories. I use the increase on my macros though (protein, carbs, fats), but usually end up at 1250-ish for the day. Eating back the exercise calories is what I look forward to when I hit goal!

I'm at 1200 and then eat back about 1/2 my exercise calories, which gives me 100-200 more, depending on the day. I lost the first 54 pound pretty steadily and then hit a six-week plateau. I didn't change my food, but increased my exercise and started losing again (as of last week).

Iced tea with stevia. Also, Amino Energy by Optimum Nutrition. Grape. Tastes great, builds your immune system, and gives you a good boost!

^^^^ This I also set my ratios to 40-30-30 (protein, carb, fat). MFP sets the carbs way too high in my opinion. As others have said, you eat a lot of processed foods. Try to eat more fresh food and includes more vegetables. Also try to stay away from Quick add on the calories. There is no way to track the ratios on that…

It's hard to answer this question without seeing your diary. Usually people lose a lot up front and then slow way down. Take another good look at your diary, or even consider opening it up for more concrete input, and I'm sure you'll find your answers.

You'll get a ton of opinions on this, so I'll just throw mine into the the mix. You're eating too much. Many on here will tell you, in light of your exercise level, your calorie intake is fine. I disagree. And so does your scale. Try either decreasing your daily goal and only eating back half your calories burned, or leave…

I have cut out dairy, with the exception of eggs, during my weightloss journey. How much of my success can I contribute to that? I have no idea. But what I'm doing is working, so I'm going with it. Not sure if/when I'll reintroduce it. I have "cheated" a couple times with ice cream and have found it upsets my stomach now.…

Warning: you are going to get a TON of differing opinions on this and some will be quite emphatic about their position! I didn't log or eat my exercise calories for the first 5 months I was on here. And I have no regrets. I was enjoying a steady 1-2 pound a week loss and didn't feel deprived or anything, though my calories…

I've only been running since mid-January as well. I run 3-4 miles 4 days a week now. I did a 5K in March and ran it at 12 min miles. Now I'm usually around 10.5 min miles on the 3 mile runs, and closer to 11 on the 4 mile runs. While I can't say I necessarily enjoy running, I am totally addicted to the post-run feeling.…
