Many years ago I ran into a guy that went to Overeaters Anonymous, and I remember thinking to myself how hard that must be. I mean, you can stop taking heroin and you won't die. But you can never stop eating. You have to eat. And all day we are bombarded with messages to eat, eat, eat. And they aren't pushing apples and…

Are we talking dried beans or beans out of a can? Have a cup of them. Beans are low in calories & high in fiber. You're more likely to stick to your diet if you aren't starving!

Acana or Orijen My dogs just do very well on it. It's high in animal proteins, low in grains and carbs, and nearly every ingredient is a word I can pronounce!

I didn't lose much weight in the first month either and I was probably the most disciplined then as my motivation was the highest. It's called muscles. They take up less room. So although you may not be losing weight you are losing fat. I don't buy into any of the 'tricks' for losing weight. It's simple math. If you use…

Chew gum, drink water, find a healthy alternative that will satisfy your craving. I'm more of hearty junk food eater and what really works for me is carrot sticks in spicy hummus. Healthy and tasty. I also really like cup a soup.

Just keep going at it and you can achieve. You have a great attitude. :)

If muffins are the end of the world...then I just wiped out our entire solar system with the 12 Stevia Oatmeal Apple Muffins I just baked. Sorry about that guys. On the bright side...we don't need to diet anymore.

I used nicotine gum. Followed the instructions and started weaning myself off. Couldn't quite stop chewing, so I bought the smallest patches and used those and chewed regular gum. I've been smoke free for more than a year now. I did gain some weight, but there were a lot of reasons for that. I'm on the right track now,…

I get that, too. I'll just have these very very strong cravings. I try to satisfy them with something healthy - the key for me is to wait as long as possible between the first batch and the second batch of whatever it is I'm craving to see if I really do want anymore. If I eat it real soon after the first one, my stomach…

I was confused about that, too. So I went searching out on the web to compare the numbers that MFP came up with. What I discovered is that it has to do with your weight. My machine is pretty simple and doesn't ask anything. It keeps track of time and distance and I can set it to different resistance. But even the heart…

First crush was John Travolta. Yes, it's true. I had a poster of his head on my wall and it was huge. Each nostril must have been a few inches across.

My BMR is a little over 1700. But as others have stated that's if you do nothing. I can eat up to 2500 calories a day and am still losing weight because I ride my bike for 3 hours or walk with the dogs or do a workout on the elliptical and weight training. Don't try to eat 1000 calories a day, I don't think that can work…
