43 and need new motivators

What are your goals? What plans do you have to meet your goals?

....joins in at an adjoining table while petting a random dog.....

43 here - I dabble in mfp - and probably could use some friends for motivation - accountability and a pick me up now and again. Add me.

Perhaps you need to build in rest days? Plan out three kb days a week...change it up or rest the other four?
-
Me too!

There's a star at the upper right hand corner - if you click on it - it will book mark the thread.

I find for me its more a habit.....I pour a drink while preparing supper. I pour a drink when I've finished mopping the floor and I'm relaxing while it dries. I pour a drink when I get home from work to unwind. I think I need a sub....tea perhaps. Its the ritual - tea is ritualistic. At least I hope it is - I find myself…

My plan for the month is to map out what days the local running track is free (I can obviously PAY - but I'm cheap so I prefer the free track) and make sure I hit it for at least 30 minutes when it is available. Walking for now - eventually work in some running and stair work. Also decided to aim for doing at least two…

I haven't heard of Noom - but I am a veteran user of MFP and when I remember to use it I like it a lot! I connect with my Garmin - which has its pros and cons - but has the motivation of a step counter if nothing else. Look forward to watching you hit your goals!

This has been on my mind for months and I finally decided this was the month! I'm in!

Me! 20lb goal. I need motivation to move during the winter months up north. I'm good about getting outside during the rest of the day - but when you leave in the dark and come home in the dark - motivation to be active pretty much is nil. I have a plan for the month and a few mini goals. I would love someone to check in…

I had been thinking of November 1st for a couple of weeks now...time to make it happen!!!! My goals for November - minimal spending, no alcohol and no snacking. What are your plans?
-
Hey there! New month - new goals. Do you have a plan? Or just looking for motivation and support?
-
Ha! I wish I could concur but my days fluctuate - some days I'm in the green - some in the red.

I've found the best strategy to ignore the munchies is to get out of the house. I usually come home and immediately put on my running shoes - I either struggle through a run if I'm feeling it or take the dogs for a long walk before coming home to make supper. I find not only does this make me hungry for dinner (not snacks)…
-
That usually means you over cooked them.

Cup of tea.

5'3" here. 147lb looking to get to at least 130 if not 120. I was 120 for almost all of my 30's. Hit 40 and the lbs crept up 5 at a time until I was over the 150 mark. I do have thyroid issues - but I feel they are under control for the most part. Logging food, making sure I get 10,000 steps at the least a day and putting…

....also your local ethnic grocery is usually cheaper for rice in bulk than the average grocery store. You may be carting home a 20lb bag of rice - but I guarantee it will be cheaper in the long run. Same goes for rice noodles, soba noodles, etc.
-
This is a complete fallacy. If you take the time to shop for a flat of protein (chicken, beef, what have you) preferably on sale and supplement with a bag of rice and a few bags of frozen veg (or fresh if its in season) you'll save money in the long run. Yes the initial outlay is a certain price - but divide it up by the…

Same here except a large to extra large in shirts.....our build must be different.

My coffee ritual involves an indulgence that I only every indulge in with my morning cuppa. It changes from week to week - but I don't ever indulge in it outside of that coffee ritual. Whatever you choose - make it special.

I'm In!

I'm game!

I've been eye balling fat tire bikes. I live in the land of 7 months of snow - so I think I could probably get use out of it year round if I put my mind to it. I walk - and I'm a wannabe runner.

Hi all! 43 looking to lose about 30 lbs. Currently at 148. I would love some new connections - add me! If you have garmin connect even better! Find me at Koetter74
-
I secretly cover the under desk elliptical also!
-
I've been reading along and you seem like a nice chatty consistent group - so I thought I'd say Hi! I'm from the upper midwest - USA - near the Canadian border. Plugging along trying to lose about 30 pounds. As your title states - I start, I stop, I start, I stop = which is how I got from 130 to 148lb. Trying to…
