It looks to me that you are routinely over calories! I would also make sure your exercise calories are estimated accurately. If you are not using a good HRM than I would cut those in half if you are not losing. I agree with adding more vegetables to the mix and cutting the high sodium processed junk.. But I absolutely…

Stop with the mamby pamby approach! Tell him straight up that you do not appreciate his actions and that he is sabotaging your efforts. If he brings any contraband home. Through it out!

AMAZING! Congratulations!

totally worthless. But if it motivates you, then go for it. Vibrating platforms/ belts etc. IMHO are gimmicks.
-
The polar should be more accurate than the gym equipment.
-
Sound like you are working pretty hard. I know that the machines in our gym are very different than my polar heart rate monitor estimates. 100's of calories different. I believe that many people use estimates that are too high and are actually inadvertantly over eating!
-
Your max heart rate is merely an estimate. There is some variability and unless you have had it determined in an exercise test, you really don't know what it is.
-
Fantastic! Good luck!
-
Have your body fat measured.
-
Congrats! Keep up the good work!
-
Be careful. How are you estimating that you burned over 1000 calories? We tend to overestimate our calorie burn and underestimate our intake. I bike an hour a day solid effort at a speed of 14-18 miles per hour . With a heart rate near my max predicted and I am less that 1000 cals burned.....
-
Just pick one scale and use it as a refernce. The balance beam scale from the gym (if it has been maintained) is likely to be more accurate; but you are really more concerned about consistancy of the measure.
-
Look, you are doing FANTASTIC! Why would you ask us? Just keep it up and feel lucky that you can lose with free weekends. I would be a bimp!
-
I would consider 2000 cals over a binge.... Might help to think about what lead to it. Are you too low on your daily calorie allotment and letting hungar get the best of you? Are you depriving yourself of certain foods on your plan and break down with a craving? Is it emotional eating? I think understanding what is…
-
When you set youself up, what activity level did you choose? I thing your routine occupation should not be recorded as exercise but reflected in your activity choice and your baseline calorie allotment.
-
it is likely you are eating too many calories. MEASURE EVERYTHING that passes you lips. Cut back on your exercise calories eaten as you don't have a good estimate for them. Don't get discouraged. Keep up the good work. If you somehow can get a polar HRM, it will give you a much better estimate of your calorie burn. Good…

First off, we are our own worst critics and may not see the "new" us. Secondly, it takes a bit of a loss to really register. I remember several pots in the pass where the consensus was like 20 lbs. I know it took that much before people started to notice on me. Great job on your loss. Don't get discouraged. Track yourself…
-
Just do your thing and ignore the negative with a smile. You are doing this for YOU, not them!
-
I'm a bit surprised as 2 TBSP of every peanut butter I've eaten alone is 200 cals? Are you really measuring everything and recording it?
-
Wow, Cheer up! You have lost 6 pounds. That's 1 lb a week. I think you are doing great! Just keep it up.
-
I would guess you are overestimating your calorie burn and eating too many calories. IF you have a HRM use that estimate. If not, try eating back 1/2 of whatever estimate you have been using. Don't get discouraged, A plateau like this is very common and you WILL get through it!
-
No
-
Doesn't make much of a difference for me. My heart rate drops pretty quickly. With in a minute or two I will be down from 157 to 90

Eating every couple of hours is actually not a bad strategy. BUt if you constantly hungry, try increasing your protein at the expense of your carbohydrates. Many people ( myself include) have a greater sense of satiety with higher protein lower carb meals and snacks
-
I wouldn't call 1 week without weight loss a plateau at all! Your weight can vary +/- up to 5 lbs and have nothing to do with fat loss. Since you have been very successful, I would just continue on. No need to fix something that isn't broken!
-
Good thought. But, there is a very handy search option that can lead to many answers ;-)
-
You did the crime: Do the time! Sort of kidding. But forgive yourself first and get out with the kids and enjoy the walking! You will feel better overall and you will BE better overall.

Your body weight can fluctuate +/- several pounds in a day! MEASURE EVERYTHING that passes your lips and your exercise calories and your body measurements. Stick to your plan. Don't be discouraged by the scale
