Interesting thought... How does giving up milk fit in?
-
To each their own I guess. This picture would not be my ideal. Too skinny for my all American taste! The girl in my ticker is my wife. and she is just about right!

Fantastic girl. Congrats!

As long as you are watching your total you should be OK. I used to think eating a big breakfast helped to cut down on calories later in the day. However, a well done study showed that wasn't the case. However, don't go hungry during the day. Hungar is the enemy of thoghtful eating. Spreading out your protein (it is the…

Congratulations on the loss! That's great. We all have an image of ourselves burned into our brain and it takes a while to adjust that image. Some of us never really see ourselves clearly. My image of me is Sean Connery as James bond ;-) Anyway. You have already seen the evidence in the sizr change. You will be more…

Great work. What a difference! keep at it!

DC ND. Enough said. Aspartame is a di-peptide (the building blocks of proteins) it is largely metabolized into its constituen amino acids. To say it isn't a food and that we can't metabolize it is patently false. Should you consume alot of it? Probably not. But it is not some major toxic substance.

If you are not having pain, bloating ,etc. Stop worring about it! Take your fiber, drink your water and let nature take its course.
-
I don't. I know my weight will fluctuate and all I want is the general trend to be down. I just don't let it bother me!
-
Eat befoer you go. Take some celery, brocolli or other veggies of you choice. I don't know why you are avoiding the wine. A dry white or red will be similar in coloric content to the hard liquor

Great job! keep up the good work!

Tonic is a POOR choice. As much carbohydrate and calories as a Coke! EX- gin and tonic guy!
-
Congratulations! I have a range of sizes in my closet and I am currently barely in the middle range (YEAH!) Looking forward to when I hit the skinny ones!

I generally weigh every couple of days. I record once a week on Thursday or Friday. I try not to look at the scale over the weekend becasue if I need to cheat, it is always on the weekend and I don't want to get discouraged
-
Skip the impact. If you have access to an elliptical trainer use that
-
You can easily hold onto 2-4 lbs of water. I bought one of those body composition scales and have been more focused on muscle mass and fat percentage myself, given the fluctuations in weight that are not meaningful. DOn't get discouraged by it! Keep to your program Good luck
-
This is almost assuredly water retention. Excess calories and carbohydrate accompanied by sodium during the weekend binge led to water retention. It will take several days of controlling your diet; but, you will get rid of it. Just don't be discouraged!

Just to be clear, I didn't say anything about your opinion that fruits are good to eat. There are many positive aspects to fruit and I don't intend to get into a discussion that in fitness circles is almost religious. I only commented on your nonsensical statement that fructose is converted into sucrose in the human body,…

Get your tuition refunded. I am not quoting expert opinion, this is basic biochemistry
-
Absolutely wrong. Fructose is a 5 carbon monosaccharide ( one sugar molecule) that is one of the components of sucrose( table sugar- a disaccharide -- 2 sugar molecule). Fructose is almost entirely metabolized in the liver and can not be used by most other body tissues. It is not converted into sucrose. Post something you…

Actually, total liver glycogen is only about 120 grams; a negligible contributor to weight loss and actually only depleted if the OP is really low carbohydrate.

Fabulous Darling!

Ok, I'm probably going to get into trouble for letting you in on this secret; but I'm willing to chance it. Now this is very important so listen carefully. Just walk up and say: " Hi! You clearly are a pro at this , can you help me with ______" It's that simple. WE ARE GUYS! WE ARE NOT COMPLICATED! You will know in 20…

The shape of your body doesn't play into it really. What kind of physical shape are you in and what can you do and sustain?

I am a log Nazi! It keeps me accountable.

Not a problem unless you have kidney disease or liver failure. Then you have problems eliminating the nitrogen waste from the protein. If you don't have the problems, the body simple coverts the protein as it needs it into energy. High protein diets have been shown in several studies to improve weight loss and you are way…

WOW! You do look fantastic! Congrats.

Outstanding!!!!

These recommendation are based on nothing! If you don't have high blood pressure or kidney problems, don't really worry about it unless you personally are holding onto water.
