  • No measuring portions (unless I want to take my measuring cup with me, but I think DH would get annoyed, lol) We're having a date night and have a gift certificate to this place, it used to be our favorite when we lived closer to it. It;s Chinese food, so it's probably going to kill my calorie count. Do I just throw…
  • Thanks. IDK how old my crock pot is, but it's not a new one. I think it was my grandmother's, it's an older one with a brown ceramic bowl inside, vs the new white ones. But yeah, I think next time it'll be like 5 or 6 hours instead of 8. :glasses:
  • I don't really miss anything, like some others have said, if I want it, I eat it, just in moderation. Do I really need to eat a HUGE bowl of ice cream? No, if I want some, I have some, but I measure out a cup, and then add 1/2 a cup of frozen fat free cool whip to it to "bulk it up" without adding tons of calories.…
  • I made a little different version of this tonight (cream of chicken because I had no COM soup) and an extra 1/2 cup of salsa. *I* thought it was ok, DH and DS didn't like it (well, DS liked the chicken, but not the rice). I think my slow cooker runs high or something, because I cooked it on low for about 7.5 hours, and the…
  • ^ oooooh, ok! That's a real time saver too, because I was entering the same meals as all different ingredients each time and was beginning to think it was a PITA.. Thanks for the help everyone!
  • I am making a version of that slow cooker salsa chicken today. I entered in the ingredients I used (some differed, like I couldn't find low sodium taco seasoning, and I used 1/2 cup more salsa than the original recipe called for, and I didn't have cream of mushroom soup, so I used cream of chicken). Anyway I added up all…
  • Way to go! you've inspired me because you had around the same starting weight and same goal as i have. Congrats!
  • I hear you, I have the same thoughts. I just try to push them out of my head and make it one day at a time. Today was the first day since counting calories that I made a meal that was all mixed up together. I was getting frustrated trying to figure out portions and thought "I can't do this for ever". I have no advice, I'm…
  • Aw, so cute, I love rex's, I had a rex dumbo girl named Lily way back when. One of my heart rats was a hairless named Chia, she was so awesome and could free roam during playtime, all I had to do was shake the yogies container and she'd come running back to me. RR is rats rule forum, I've been a member of there for like 8…
  • Thanks for the advice. So I just looked and I am not quite as over, though I still am. I accidentally entered the whole can of peas and corn, I didn't eat a whole can of corn, or a whole can of peas, lol, so yeah. I'm still about 600 over though. I usually do check the menu's online first, but I was at the gym when…
  • Thanks DustDevil. No, I had only had a power bar for breakfast, that's 250 calories. I had 1/2 of my sub from last night for lunch, I had a lot of calories yesterday because it was a workout day, so I thought I could get a large, but I after adding the toppings and stuff on here, I would've gone over, so I ate half…
  • So again, I went over my calories. :frown: This is the 2nd time this week. I was doing so well before. I made shepherd's pie with ground turkey for supper and it brought me over like 800 and something calories. I know we're not supposed to dwell on the #'s, but I feel guilty. I was starving and only had 300 and something…
  • Yeah, I'm assuming they are shortcake. lol. My brother in law bought them at the local grocery store bakery, so all they say on them are "dessert shells", no name brand or anything.
  • I was reading on hungry girl that at taco bell, anything fresco is better than ordering regular stuff.
  • lol, well I allowed myself to splurge last night, I wasn't about to go over my calories 2 days in a row.
  • that I can't eat the other half of my D'angelos turkey sub without going over my calories, BUT I just made 2 little strawberry shortcakes and still have 302 calories left over. So yeah, I'm kind of glad I only ate 1/2 my sub and didn't go over my calories. Strawberry shortcake is yummy! I would have thought those little…
  • As I was looking up my sub from D'angelos today I saw the tuna sub, for 1/2 of a sub (a small), it's 800 calories!!!
  • I almost did the same thing today. We got subs for dinner and I hadn't eaten lunch. I had over 1000 calories left over, but once I entered in my info, (as I was eating the first half of my sub) I saw that I would go way over if I'd eaten the whole thing. So the other half sits in my fridge for tomorrow.
  • ^ That's a good way to think about it. Well I am just checking in, to say I did my spin class today. In case anyone was wondering, lol!
  • ^ lol, me too! I have spin class tomorrow and am really going to push myself to work those calories off.
  • Well I went a bit overboard. I had in front of me: one roll (with honey butter), a ceasar salad (no croutons, but regular dressing), mashed potatoes and a steak. I ate the roll, the salad, and 1/2 of the steak, almost all of the mashed potatoes. I was pretty much full from the salad and roll but the time I got to the steak…
  • Yeah, I will definitely enjoy it, I haven't had a steak in a while, even before counting calories. It's really the potatoes that are going to throw me over, I got a salad as one of my sides, because I do love salad. And I added both from the MFP database, I still have 47 calories left, but I know the potatoes, salad…
  • Gah, I cheated! I got the darn steak. I know I'll be back on track tomorrow. It was the darn pasta I had for lunch today that threw me over. I sat there and thought about it and decided I can do this today, because we don't order steaks very often.
  • Thanks ladies, I just feel like I'm still so early on in the "game", lol, that if I eat so much and see the scale rise too much, I'll get discouraged. So I'll probably stick with the salad and order regular dressing as a cheat. I have not gone over my calories since Jan 17th (I know, it hasn't even been a week yet) but I…
  • I weighed myself at the gym the other evening, and I was 4 lbs heavier than at home in the morning. I also have this one pair of pants, they are SO comfy, but they really weigh like 2 lbs, I weigh 2 lbs less when I take them off and weigh myself again. I always weigh myself in the morning, right after I go pee, but before…
  • So out of the blue, my brother in law suggested we order out tonight. Had today been one of my exercise days, I'd have plenty of calories to eat left over, but I am down to 554 calories, so no steak and potatoes for me. While we do order out occasionally, we don't order from steak house type restaurants regularly,…
  • I loooove banana bread, I'm going to get the stuff to make this tmoorrow. Thanks!
  • Seems it's personal preference. I would never be motivated enough to work out in my home, I like to take spin class at the gym. It's more accountability, especially once you start getting to know people, then they ask where you were and if have to have an explanation of why you didn't come, lol. Do you have insurance? A…
