I have 2 days where I'll be a little lenient on myself, but that's it. This Saturday is a friend's Christmas party and I'll eat really well during the day, and enjoy myself during the party but I wont go overboard. No seconds basically. Christmas I'll just take the day off. Lunch at one set of parents' home, then dinner at…

I'm Laura, 26 (closing in on 27) years old. I was at 160 and went 'oh boy' and decided it was time to drop the weight. My boyfriend and I started MFP together. I was always overweight as a teen, and lost weight when I was about 17 and then gained it back plus some in the freshman 15 (ok, more than 15). My highest weight…

Same as those above, open to friends.

Multi and a lot of vitamin D. Severely lacking in the D, as most people who live in northern climate are. Keeps the depression at bay.

I find green tea really helps me when I feel really full of fluids. A cup or two will have you running to the bathroom and will really help flush out some water. Then just LOTS of water!

Sorry, missed that in your post. How much are you putting in? Try switching to milk, way less fat! Go homo, then 2%, then 1% then skim. Honestly, once you cut that stuff out you will not miss it. Someone mixed up my coffee the other day and gave me cream and I couldn't drink it.
-
What are you putting in your coffee? Coffee itself is only two calories, and the caffeine really gets things motoring, it speeds things up. Most people don't realize it's what goes in your coffee that's the problem. If you drink six say, double doubles a day, that's 12 spoonfuls of cream and 12 of sugar! That's HUGE! I…

Hoyeah! At first I was like 'it's a bad angle!' and 'but I don't look like that in the mirror!' It took a bit to sink in, but I really am not impressed with myself. Time to get back into shape!

The problem with going too low is it does mess up your metabolism. Your body does adjust to how many calories you're getting, and everyone is different. If you start eating 600 calories a day, of course you'll lose weight, but your body will hate you for it. Plus, you'll gain everything back when you go higher, since your…

If you are on a birthcontrol, switch to a new one. If you're not on a birthcontrol, get on one. I was on Alesse for years and it made my periods a breeze. No cramps, no emotional issues, nothing. It was awesome. I switched to Diane-35 to help with acne, and my period wasn't as breezey, but still easy. I tried nuvaring for…

I'm definitely going to try upping my calories a bit. I dropped them a bit after a big Christmas binge and then the scale hasn't moved. When I was eating a few more calories a day I was losing very quickly. I almost feel like I've been making too good of choices some days, as I am satisfied at 1200 calories or less some…

Ridiculous. The dietition doesn't like a free service is infringing on her paid services. Of course, seeing a professional is a good idea, especially if you have added health concerns. But the idea that MFP is a lost cause is silliness.

Boobs and face for me. I haven't lost much, but I can already see it in my face.
-
Oh don't worry. I actually use to work in a nutrition clinic. Portions aren't the concern, I measure out most of what I eat, but try not to go crazy with it.

Hey I'm 5'6" and looking to drop about 35lbs!
-
When are you weighing yourself? Is it the same time every day? If not, that's probably why. The moment you've had even a glass of water in the morning your weight shoots up.
-
It's smart to watch what you eat. If you stop logging your food and exercise the moment you hit your goal, chances are you'll eat too much and lose track and next think you know you've gained it all back. The smart thing to do is keep logging your diaries for at least a few months and slowly add more food and maintain your…

I use a little bit of almond milk. Super tastey, with just a hint of almond taste. Once you get rid of the sweet, you'll never want sweet coffee again.

Oh, and if your doctor doesn't listen, don't be afraid to seek out a new doctor and get one who will listen to your concerns fully. I had to learn that the hard way.

Honestly it could be psychosematic. A couple years ago now a doctor found a lump in my breast and until I saw a specialist my breast ACHED constantly. The moment I got the all clear that I actually just have lumpy boobs and was totally fine, the pain started to go away. There are tons of side effects to weight gain and…

Yes with a but. You'll lose weight, but you wont be any healthier if you eat garbage. Plus, you'll get more actual food out of low cal, healthy foods like veggies and lean meats than you will out of fast food and other not so good for you stuff.

This time of year it's hard! I had my work Christmas on Friday night and it was all you can eat. So I took that under consideration all week, and ate really well, lots of veggies, small meals, and no bad for you things. Did really well too! So I got away with eating more than I should have on Friday. Then my problem is for…

Having to buy clothes every time I gain more weight! Especially pants and skirts, as I gain most of my weight in my thighs. I usually buy maybe 1 or 2 new pairs of pants or a skirt every year as old ones wear out, but this year I've bought about 8 pairs of pants to keep up with my increasing weight. No more of that for me,…

I live in Canada and I get so dry and scaly in the winter. It sucks! A humidifier works wonders, but since you aren't staying long, try a long very hot shower. Soak in the steam. Get the bathroom really steamy and just relax in there. And drink plenty of water, of course.

Yup! And honestly I just flat out say something to them. It can be a challenge to speak out, but she's probably clueless because no one has said anything. Just politely say "can you please just be aware of how close you're getting to me? I'm afraid one of us will get injured, and it's interfering with my workout." Most…

I eat the bars on occasion, but not daily. I like them because they're really filling. I have one at lunch and I'm good til dinner and need no snacks. They're great for days when I'm running late and can't pack a full lunch. I also like the drink powder, I find it actually does give me extra energy. Not something I do…

I find if it's something outside my normal work duties (ie: carrying heavy boxes) I will add it separately. Especially if it feels like a work out!
