Lifting, not cardio, so not too sweaty:

Definitely prefer co-ed.

Great pic, although a bit like being photographed with The Devil himself. But at least he no longer owns your soul. =)

I have 2 dogs. Conroy Pit (off leash park) is not too far from my house but I've only been there once because some of the dogs there are a bit aggressive in their approach. They'll come rushing up. Fortunately, my two are not alpha, so there hasn't been a conflict... but I was sufficiently spooked not to return.

Welcome Becka, Carolyn and Danielle!
-
You are so beautiful, and courageous to work this hard.
-
You're starving yourself. You can't lose weight eating this little. 1. Use MFP tool to calculate your daily calorie target 2. Eat that much; never less OR eat even more, exercise, and eat your exercise calories back to meet the higher calorie target. 3. Repeat. thats it!

W-O-W. You look 15 years younger... like mother and daughter in side by side pictures.

Put 'em in the freezer. Take a few out per week.

We're a quiet bunch. :) I don't own snowshoes but I'd get some for the privilege of meeting some of you fine folks. So many of us have made great strides in the last few months and it would be great to celebrate those victories in person. Another suggestion: My house is adjacent to large portions of government protected…

I'm so proud of you. You've worked so hard, and you deserve happiness. Thanks for being my friend here along the way. =)

The two legs in one pantleg picture is a classic. =) Nicely done!

In the meantime, there are plenty of math formulas to extrapolate it for you. Here's a tool you might like: http://www.miniwebtool.com/1-rep-max-calculator/

I wish I could do more outdoors during the winter, but my lungs are hypersensitive. A few gusts of cold air during exertion and I get bronchitis... so... a-treadmilling I go.

The one that no-one has mentioned that really gets me (and possibly only just me?) is "While You Were Sleeping". The final scene in the hospital when Sandra Bullock reveals everything and then slips out of the room in tears: it completely crushes me. I only watch the movie about once a year, but she gets me EVERY DAMNED…

You look wonderful! Thanks for being courageous and sharing your progress.

SW: 222 pounds (November 3, 2011) CW: 189.8 pounds (January 22, 2012) GW: 162 pounds (May 3, 2012) Over halfway there.

That's my actual graph of my 11 weeks of diet and exercise, plotted using The Hacker's Diet Online - http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/ There's been steady loss except for one spike early on, when I went on vacation and ate very heartily, but the pounds came off again quickly once I returned to my regular diet. I've worked…

- Don't go with 1200 calories unless MFP tells you to. Use the goal tool and let it tell you how many calories it thinks you need. - Log your food. - Log your exercise. - Stick to your target number. (i.e. Eat back your exercise calories). There are ups and downs, but it works:

I'm 41, have been overweight for 20 years, and have lost 32 pounds in 11 weeks. I'm calling myth. If your body has always been resistant to calorie restriction, it will probably continue to be so. If you have a body like mine, that can shed pounds but you didn't really bother to manage it, it's never too late to start.

Your B&A pictures are amazing. You are amazing. Don't ever quit.

I don' t think multivitamins are necessary if you eat reasonably well. Google around for studies if you'd like to learn more for yourself. However, because I don't eat seafood I take an Omega-3 and a Vitamin D supplement every day. If you have any specific foods you avoid, you might want to consider specific supplements.

I'm in, so long as the time works.

Thanks! I'll try that!

I started lifting a few weeks ago (Olympic barbell set for Christmas). I'm 41 years old, 191 pounds, with no experience and no spotter, so I haven't attempted to bench more than 130. I read somewhere (I think it was Lou Shuler) that for just building size it was better to bench more reps of less weight... 55-65% of 1RM for…

In my MFP settings I say 6 days a week for 45 minutes a day, but my intention is to allow myself a night off should "life" happen and I need to skip a day. As for the time per day, depending on what I've eaten, I workout for 15-60 minutes. With my HRM, I work only as long as I have to to balance my calories, then I stop.

I weigh daily because I want constant feedback for accountability. That said, I'm only concerned about *weekly* weight loss and not the daily fluctuation (which varies with my sodium intake). I look at my change each Saturday morning, and it's always less than the previous Saturday. Always.

This is another reason why I prefer to work out at home. I'm either lifting more weight or doing more reps to push my muscles past their comfort zone. I can't help but grunt a little to get to the end of those sets. If I can stay silent from start to finish, clearly I haven't made the workout challenging enough and I'm…

I worked out with the EZ curl combo bar on Wednesday night. 20 pounds of solid, chromed steel. Perfectly balanced. A wonderful bargain for $40! Glad I shopped around. Will definitely order from fitnessavenue.ca again if there is something I can't get locally. http://www.fitnessavenue.ca/item.php?id=113 My only qualm was…
