  • I know, I was just pokin' fun at you in a friendly way.
  • It is recommended not to eat more than 40g of Processed sugar a day (that's not fruit), and that's something to keep a definite eye on. But regular fruit? As long as you're getting proper nutrition and meeting the other nutrition guidelines, then I wouldn't worry about the sugar in fruit. If you are not getting enough of…
  • yes you can substitute yogurt. the best ones i've found are the dreyer or breyer (can't remember which) double churned, actually tastes like normal ice cream. it may not be the fat free kind though, may only be low fat. I'd go for the yogurt instead personally, if you know what kinds you like already.

  • If you have to eat what your family has (which at least you won't starve to death), try eating only one of their meals and do the suggestions other people had for the rest. And limit your portions during those meals. If they eat pasta, and they mix it with the spaghetti sauce, ask to have them separate and get your portion…

  • Calories #1. It doesn't matter what these calories are, just make sure you're not over. You might want to start watching a few things, until you get it under control, I started with cals, carbs, fat and added protein and fiber as time went on, recently added sodium. I've been doing this since Jan, in the beginning, it was…
  • OK I'm here, slept in a bit today, had a bigger (calorie wise) breakfast than normal since hubby cooked. I need to go to the store so I can walk a bit of that off. My goal this week is to DRINK MY WATER. Man I've gotten so bad about that. It's all about routine for me, I swear I'm OCD in my old age. In my house it's the…
  • You'll know it when you hit it. Everybody is a bit different. Mine took 3 mos but in the past it seems to be at about 30 pounds, this time it was about 40 pounds. Mine could have also been caused by a change in medication, so I can't say for sure I would have hit one then otherwise. But when you do hit it, one or two or…
  • So what you're saying is, the rest of us are boring??? You don't like reading our posts???
  • whoo-hoo! great for you! hurray hurray! thanks for the motivation, i'd like to start this myself.
  • What everyone else said. You CAN do this! Set your expectations realistically - you can't exercise for 2 hours every day. This is a lifestyle change. Set goals - for example, 30 mins cardio 3x/wk. You can carve out time for that, right? Take a walk, walk the track, do a video, do a tv exercise thing, jump rope, whatever,…
  • Good for you! That's very exciting!!
  • It depends on how active you are, your current size, and how much weight you have to lose. So if you have less than 30 pounds to lose, it's going to take a lot longer than someone who has 100 pounds to lose to drop the first 30 pounds... MFP seems accurate on what your caloric intake is. If you're not gaining, then you're…
  • I go thru insomnia cycles, so I know exactly what you mean. Give yourself something "ok" to snack on, make little snack packs of cut up veggies. If you go over on your cals with veggies, well, so what. Or frozen fruit (the kind without any added, I froze my own blueberries this year and that's been my late night snack…
  • Just to be perfectly clear... the first challenge in my post applies to me as well, as I went to bed at 2 am because I was "farming" which means I'm really tired today because I only got a few hours sleep! How lame is that??? Good job lorann and prayerful! and thanks for starting the thread! and manda, you've…
  • Manda-SW 198, GW135, CW 174 = +2lbs prayerful -1 Lorann - SW 285 / GW 145 / CW 236 - loss of 2.5 lbs adopt4 - no change I have a challenge to issue to "some" of you - you know who you are.... Don't spend more that 15 mins in any 6 hour period "farming" or any other game on FB. Post twice a day here - once with your…
  • LOL... I am sending him this!!!
  • thanks banks. although this isn't for me, i am totally against it for my spouse. i want to wake him up that he CAN do this if he becomes accountable for what he eats and does. he doesn't have to lose weight quickly, he doesn't have to lose weight for me to love him... but he needs to lose weight so he will be around to…
  • yeah, he doesn't have as much to lose, if he were a lot bigger i would feel differently about it. also, he drinks alot, so fieldsy, i am sending him your journal. and we could never afford the surgery to get rid of the excess skin you get from losing weight so fast...
  • fix your ticker, now i don't know what your goal weight is!
  • i just have to tell you guys what happened, made me laugh. we put an alarm on son's room last night, because he sneaks out at night-time and during naptime and causes great messes in the bathroom (he's dumped 3 huge bottles of shampoo in the last 3 mos)... so last night, after catching him once again sneaking into his bros…
  • cyndee, you're not whining! sheesh girl! I'm slowly seeing the weight I gained come off. Although it's really hard to do it with just eating, especially after eating junk again. But I"m working on it. A friend just invited us over for pizza tonight, she has a/c and needs a favor from me in person - but I told her no pizza…
  • 3-4 times a week? i see that as a treat more than any nutritional value... it's just a treat with no cals and lots of sodium. If you were drinking 3-4/day then that would be different.
  • maybe you can stick to a "64 calorie" beer and limit to 1 or 2? At least that wouldn't be as bad as regular beer or hard alcohol. That way, you are helping yourself with your calories and sugar intake, and reserving your calories for actual nutrition for your body, and yet still being able to go out in social situations…
  • Welcome. This is a lifestyle change, and with that, we all eventually make mistakes and hopefully learn from them so we don't repeat them. It's great you've been able to stay successful for so long - keep it up!
  • awww cyndee i'm so sorry you're having such problems. that really does suck. prayerful - man i can't believe how far you rode. wow. good for you! manda - that's the ticket, pack your lunch, log stuff ahead of time so you can stay on track! you can do it! i was bad, very bad today. i didn't get up in time to meet with my…
  • Is there a difference in what you ate between a day you felt ok and a day you didn't? More sugar, lower carbs, your water intake? Watch for a pattern and see. And as was suggested, it could be that some days you "give" more during your workout.
  • Took Z to his speech therapy today (I hate his therapist, I think she's an idiot, but we had to get it in over the summer and she was the only one available). She says stuff like, when he can't pronounce a word right, tell him the right way and have him repeat it. I'm like, lady, I"ve been coming here for six years, do you…
  • hey where is everyone??? everyone's usually up and posting way before I get up!! (since I'm on Pacific time)... unless everyone's got the monday blah's... i surely do!
  • ok all, whew, what a weekend! went to seattle (3 hours away, plus the potty breaks for mommy) for the adoption kids weekend, the boys saw the man in charge from Ethiopia (who really cares for these kids), we asked him to tell their mother they are doing well and are happy (they are). also saw almost all the people in my…
