  • Complex carbs+Protein before your workout. The amino acids help the muscles maintain an anabolic state instead of catabolic. Complex carbs provide a steady source of energy through the workout. After your workout you mix simple carbs+lean protein. AVOID FAT!!!! The simple carbs spike your insulin and "shuttle" the protein…
  • I guess it just depends on the your height. Every pound counts!!! Regardless though, good job.
  • And by chance are you talking about the human body adapting to the physical demands. When you do it for so long you hit a plateau, where results come harder. When that happens you just kick up the intensity. FYI, you should always raise the intensity. Keep pushing yourself!!!
  • I started at 210lbs, went down to 145, and now I am sitting at 165. Cardio is a wonderful way, and in no way slows down metabolism. If you go with HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING cardio, it jacks up your metabolism for up to 48 hours, but usually 24. Weight training would also benefit you. Start with moderate weight, high…
  • I guess a little more bulking couldn't hurt, right? Lol. And age is nothing but a number. And it sucks very bad. I miss being able to eat huge meals, got like 3250 calories a day. Dropped way down to around 1750-2200 depending on the day. And it's not just amounts that sucks, but also the choices are more limited. I…
  • About two weeks. What would you recommend a goal weight to be? I am sitting at 165. My brother recommends about 185, but I can't exceed 195 due to my recent enlistment in the Army. And this is all new to me, I've only been doing weights for about 5 months.
  • I do find that social interaction with people who have similar goals helps both sides stay on track and keep their goals in sight. You can add me. I am very motivated and like to pass on motivation. I too like to talk.
  • Consistency is key. If you keep checking in on your progress and see results, well you'll be happy with yourself and stay motivated to keep up the good work. Just a thought. Also, set goals of where you want to be and when you want to be there. All the little things build up, that's where my motivation comes from.
  • I use to have cravings too, but in the end it all comes down to your mind. What I do is realize I have some goals I need to meet and they are on a deadline. By falling into your cravings not only do you set yourself back but your deadline is of no good unless it was a one time thing. Think of all the time you have invested…
  • This is my current diet. About 2 weeks into it you'll notice a big difference. Once you hit a plateau, try lowering the carbs by 5 or 10g and see if it resumes. I can say this is one of the most outstanding diets I have ever been part of.
