Good points. You're both right. I'll cut back this week. I don't usually intend to work out that much - it just happens - a great spin instructor is giving a class, someone asks me to do something, blah blah blah. I need to be more mindful about it for awhile. Thank you!

hmm. Sounds like it's worth trying. Thanks!!!

This looks great - how many servings is it? Thanks!

A mixture of the above. We slice them and cook them with pancetta in a frying pan, no oil other than what the pancetta gives. Cook them until slightly browned. Then we toss with a few pine nuts. My three teenagers fight over them!

I lost 60 pounds 20 years ago and the only way I have kept it off (except for the five pounds that I play with regularly) is to view eating as a lifestyle and eat what I really want when I want it. The key, though, was reacquainting myself with what I really want and how it stops tasting good after a certain amount. I have…

I LOVE spinning. I love the music, the dynamics, the exercise. But I also love that everyone can go at their own pace and take care of him/herself during class without worrying about doing the right moves or looking silly. It's your workout - and instructors usually are very clear that you shoudl do what you are able, not…

Yum! I'm on a business trip in Ann Arbor right now, but I can't wait to get home to try them. Thanks!

I'm in! I feel the extra weight when I run, and I don't like it! Everything is harder with extra weight hanging around.

This sounds great! Thank you.

Can you find a running partner? Honestly, I wouldn't do it by myself as a female. Things happen, even in good neighborhoods. I have been running with my running partner for 5 years - at 5 am. I wear a headlamp and reflective clothes. Please, please be safe.

I love Trader Joes frozen steel cut oats. Looks like a giant oatmeal popsicle. Delicious with a tsp of brown sugar and a splash of milk. I like the idea of eating it for a snack - haven't thought of that.

sounds great! thanks!

I just made the Jamaican red bean soup for lunch today - used black beans due to an aversion to kidney beans by one of my children. Put it in the crockpot on high - it was finished in 1 1/2 hours. It was amazing. Thank you for the recipe!

Really easy - jar of salsa, boneless chicken breasts, can of corn, can of black beans. Cook until chicken is done. Eat with brown rice, tortillas, or alone. (always good with cheese on top- or you can put in some laughing cow cheese at the end)

Homemade ratatouille and fresh cherries. A perfect, tasty, low-calorie lunch which feels so good to eat.

Our absolute favorite way to eat cauliflower is to cut it in pieces (or slices), sprinkle with some olive oil and sea salt, and roast in the oven. Maybe 400 for 15 minutes or so. Look on allrecipes.com for garlic cauliflower for the exact timing and temperature. We leave off the garlic. But we eat two heads at a time for…

I'd love a buddy. I can text or email - could also do facebook, but prefer the first two. :)

Happy New Year! I am Pam. I am 45 years old with 3 teenagers, 14 yod, 16 yos, 18 yos. I live in NC, where the winters are fairly mild, so I have no excuses! Other than working full-time at Duke and carting three kids around. :) I have been exercising for years - i have lost 50 pounds since I got married (almost 25 years…

I'd like to join. current weight: 136 goal weight: 128 I'd like to feel better, eat healthier, lose 8 pounds, and be up to running 10 miles at the end of 90 days. I'd also like to cut way back on the sugar and on snacks in general. And be mindful of what I am eating.

I'd like to join! I love keeping track of my mileage, but I'm not always diligent. This will give me some accountability. Happy, healthy New Year!
