  • And now for the reason I actually popped onto this thread...I know it's not a burger, but a great recipe for ground turkey that is great if you want to change it up! These meatballs are absolutely to DIE for- with or without the noodles (which are also good)!!…
  • You might want to do a little less relying just on one government site's stats and pick up some medical research journals, etc. You are entitled to your opinion, but coming into a thread asking about recipes for turkey (which you refuse to eat) and harping on people who eat it is absurd. Then blaming it on them just going…
  • Also- in Fire 45EZ during the "In the Ayer" workout- if you watch the crew working out towards the left, the girl in the yellow top with the blonde hair eventually can't take it anymore and pretty much stops and is barely moving in one section. She looks like she is about to drop.
  • Haha I laugh at that, too. How about after one of the HIIT routines (can't remember which DVD it comes in on), that really thin blonde with the braids who starts jumping up and down by her friends like she won the freaking lottery/is having some sort of spaz attack. WTF is she so excited about? Seriously it's like a 2 year…
  • One of my MFP friends is doing the basic level and is getting great results. She inspired me to order it- I should get it tomorrow :-) From the research I have done on the book, it seems highly recommended by people at all fitness levels (beginners with knee problems to bodybuilders).
  • I'm on week 15 of 20 right now of Turbofire and love it. I lost 26 pounds so far since I have started, which is 7 pounds from my goal (though I am at a healthy weight for my height and frame now and in the best shape of my life). I'm debating on doing P90X next or branching out to Tapout XT which I have heard great reviews…
  • Even better than their ginger snaps is the snickerdoodles. Trust me- you will not be disappointed :-)
  • Alpha Chi Omega
  • Ziggy. Curious little thing and can't get from point A to B without making 10 stops along the way (zig-zagging all over the place to check things out). Not the best attention span, bless his heart! :-)
  • What were you doing differently prior to MFP that you are doing now as far as diet, exercise, etc? It is hard to say for certain. I do agree though- I'd check measurements!
  • I'm reading that book now. I am gluten intolerant and diet has definitely helped manage my autoimmune symptoms (I have lupus). I started eating GF at the end of 2010. I hope that you continue to feel better! Welcome to the group :-)

  • I never married the guy, but was engaged to a guy who was very, very similar in personality. Believe me, it feels great to be around a community like this after hearing such negative things for so long and to be back to a healthy lifestyle and doing things for ME! Congrats on your new journey! :-) Feel free to add me if…
  • I'm actually in Oak Lawn :-)
  • This just made my day. Thank you for posting this :flowerforyou:
  • Welcome to the both of you :-) And congrats on your weight loss! MFP is an amazing site with so many great people! You'll love it!

  • Can I please shake your hand? Seriously, so few men understand the difference between the two! :flowerforyou:
  • Congrats on your progress! Feel free to add me if you'd like. I started at my journey in January, too, and am looking to lose about the same amount of weight. I am down 24 lbs so far. I log daily and comment almost daily (I work 12 hour nights so not as active on work days). :-)
  • There are soooo many options, girl. It takes a bit of adjusting, but I promise you that there are a lot of yummy options! One of my favorite websites for food recipes is skinnytaste.com- there is a section of gluten free recipes that are really, really good and you wouldn't know the difference. There are some really tasty…
  • I am not in those locations so I don't know for sure...but I do know a lot of travel RNs and from my own experience at hospitals, I do not know of any with on-site child care. But the above poster is right- I think that finding a qualified childcare facility in the vicinity, especially in the areas you are interested in,…
  • I am an RN and work 12 hour nights in tele. Let me tell you, the night cafeteria serves nothing but fried food! I learned to pack my own lunch after weight gain my first few years of nursing! I am learning to schedule workouts and hold myself accountable, but it is challenging between shifts especially! Just an FYI- there…
  • When I do the stretch for TF, I do log it. There are days that you do a longer stretch (40 minutes) and won't do the cardio with it. It is a Yoga routine, just like the shorter one. It counts, girl, even though you aren't burning as much as the other TF workouts, you are still increasing your heart rate and blood flow and…
  • I'll add that a lot of these herbals can also interact with other medications and lead to lethal issues (cardiac arrythmias, etc).
  • Yup I'm pretty close to there
  • Hmm...I guess I never really thought about it because my last job, I worked on a unit that the RNs were super healthy. My new unit, not so much. I noticed that with the exception of me and maybe 4 other RNs, out of the 40-some of us, just about everybody is overweight. That being said- when you look at what the hospital…
  • It definitely can happen with lots of meds. Happened to me with prednisone that I take for lupus. But there are a gazillion others (I'm a nurse...believe me it is a huge side effect of many drugs and is a common reason many patients end up on my unit- they stop taking their medications because they don't like the side…
  • Green mountain caramel vanilla cream and the pumpkin spice are my go-to's!
  • I'm with a lot of the other posters- it is really about timing. I don't mind a smile or some casual conversation. But when it comes to me being in "the zone" I find it annoying. I actually had a guy interrupt me during my workout yesterday and it really annoyed me. Literally I am intensely running between mile 4 and 5,…
  • I take topamax as a preventative and it does me wonders. If I do get a bad migraine, I do get acupuncture and it works wonderfully. I highly recommend it :-)
  • Your posts are some of the best posts...ever. :-)
