Woo, that's powerful stuff. "I don't want you going out with that long haired hippie freak". No wonder we were all dating the bad boys. So we need to work with thinking about what we can eat.

This is FABULOUS advice. I will be taking it to heart. No 10 pound weight gain for me this year. I've worked too hard to go that far backward. Thanks for posting.

Unfortunately I only dumped him 4 years and two kids later, but my ex, when we were dating, told me that he had gone out with lots of better looking women, but he liked my personality! HOW was that not a dumping signal right there??? I hope I'm not so blind now! (Not that it matters, my sweetheart and I are celebrating 20…

Oh, rats, now I want one too. Make the whole darn loaf!

Thanks, I'll try that.

Would tricep dips cause stress to my damaged rotator cuffs? I have to be carefull what I do to them.

Lots of good advice here. Merge it together for what works for you. I also find that when I dress for it right away, I am more likely to actually do it. And often after I start I want to keep going. So even committing to 10 or 15 minutes is a great start. Speaking of which...I was having trouble getting going today, now…

I live on Vancouver Island, in Canada, and in the summer there is nowhere else I want to be. It's like living in a resort every day. Warm, with lovely beaches. But we get rain all winter, so then I would like to be in Mexico or Costa Rica, or Ecuador. Anywhere cheap and sunny with beaches.

THIS is what I should have done! Logged it as 1100 calories, but actually lost count so it could have been more. Either way, I am way over for this week. Good thing there are only a few left now.

I just said to my husband the other day how no matter how many years I've seen this commercial now, I still laugh when I see it! Unfortunately for the advertiser, I can't remember what the ad is for right now!! Ha ha ha.
-
Yes, this. That annoys me a lot. Plus I would like to bring an item out of the recipe and use it somewhere else, like another recipe. Otherwise the logging is mostly quick once you've done it awhile and have most of your foods in already. I suppose the more accurate you wish to be the longer the initial logging would take,…

Ohhh, yum yum yum. Now I'm starving.! Bump for later!

Me toooooo! And I've actually lost 5 pounds in the last 3 or 4 weeks. But the summer re-gain of weight previously lost is not disappearing on my tape measure! How can I weigh less and not be smaller? Also, that arm flab is right up there for me with the tummy flab. It's not budging. And it's more obvious because I have so…

This^^ definitely. And I love the idea of good alternatives for him. My hubby is slowly learning that a large bag of potato chips is no longer acceptable, but I didn't think of giving him options. (Other than a small bag, which I don't really want either. {Well, my brain does, lol, but my body doesn't need it!}) He loves…

If my craving is after dinner (isn't everyones?) I drink herbal tea with a teeeny bit of sugar. The time it takes to drink, and the sweetness, is the only thing that kills my cravings. Besides the chips, chocolate bar, ice cream or whatever I might have instead! I tried fruit and/or veggies, and they did nothing at all.…

I too am working on the belly and back. What's up with that yuckky sagging on your back anyway? I used to think mine was the only part of me that looked pretty good, then one day I was in a bathroom with a mirror that showed you the back of you -- aaaaarrrrgghhh! I was devastated. What was that? Ewww! Anyway, it's ever so…

I have arthritis, and when I go for several weeks without exercise I really start to feel it. Exercise DEFINITELY makes a difference to arthritis pain! I don't do actual weight lifting, but have been going to a Curves gym for several years. Their equipment allows you to control the amount of pushing/pulling you do with…

lol! I totally read this as "without stripping to see"! That made me laugh.

Bump! Thanks for the great info.

I tried Mio for the first time today too! And I also love it. It did away with all my cravings for food the rest of the day. I've been fighting that battle for years. Don't know if it will last, but for now...wooo hooo! When I'm cycling I use tablets called Nuun. They are supposed to be loaded with electrolytes and stuff…

I'm definitely in the "eat it off my husband's chest" cupcake camp. However, as a binger who cannot stop at one, I have to watch it. Today I discovered something that may help me with those sweets cravings. I have been having trouble getting enough water down lately (new problem, don't know why). So I bought one of those…

If you need recipe ideas, also check the recipe section on the Message Boards tab in MFP. There are some great recipes there. And as far as Veggies go, like one of the above posters said, easiest of all: steam, sautee, boil if you must (but just an inch or so of water), and pair with a piece of meat and some rice or…

mmmmm.....Bump!

That sounds like a tough time. I was doing the same thing all summer without half so much reason. (Gained 10 lbs! Ugh!) Anyway, I found what finally helped me settle down was writing down my meals and exercise ahead of time in MFP, and just keeping at it until I got back to normal. I had quit recording because I was sooo…

BANG ON! And incredibly well said! Hopefully many of us will read this and choose to listen. Thanks for sayin' it.

Hmm... Carbs. I always thought of them as one of those things you always get more than enough of. I will check that out. Thanks for the idea. I eat back all the calories I exercise out. I am trying to lose a few more pounds, but not seriously. I eat mostly healthy, lots of fruit and veg, but normal dinners of meat and rice…

My usual lunch, Kale Smoothie: Kale, Chard, Strawberries, apple, pear, pineapple, kiwi, water. Split in half with my hubbie.

Bravo! Wtell said. I also am a cyclist, and I try hard to be careful and sensible. I imagine those arrogant cyclists (and there are lots of them, but people, not all cyclists are like that) drive the same way. And when faced with a bad driver, do we try to scare them or assume all drivers are the same? Why must people do…

I have both too, and love them both. I probably use the elliptical more, it is less boring. I think though, that the amount of arm workout is actually minimal. I'm pretty sure you can burn the same amount of calories on either, it's more a case of which you enjoy the most, because that's the one you'll use. Make sure you…
