  • Had one removed while in college, and the recovery time was short. It was in between the ball of my foot and the pad of my big toe, so it wasn't in a place that took the majority of my weight. Just think of it as a big cut on your foot...if you sliced it somewhat deeply, it would be about the same recovery time. Edit note:…
  • I've had a Polar for a couple of years, and I found that the strap stretched out after wearing it. Make sure to tighten your strap so it's snug on your chest (ESPECIALLY in the water). The other problem I've found is my sports bra will push it down or get in between it and my skin, which will give me a 00 reading.
  • Check out allrecipes.com. They have a TON of great recipes on there with lots of reviews. The reviews have not steered me wrong yet! I make a great turkey chili from there, stuffed chicken breasts, low-cal pasta dishes, etc. Let me know if you want specifics...I'd be happy to send you the links.
  • If you don't think it's healthy for you, then don't do it. I agree that you should never limit your calories to under 1200 unless doctor recommended. If you restrict too much, you'll set yourself up for failure. Sounds like you have a pretty good head on your shoulders...trust your gut! Good luck!

  • I have a cobbled-together plan, I guess. Eggs & coffee for breakfast, snack a few hours later, lunch a few hours after that (around 350 calories), snack a few hours after that, then dinner after my workout. Sometimes I have to have two snacks in the afternoon if I can't eat until 8:30 pm. Does that answer your question?
  • I just started this four days ago, and I was eating my turkey wrap when two of my co-workers walked in with a big bag of McDonald's. They sat down and said, "Look at you, eating all healty" in that really snotty tone. I said, "Yep, and I'm working my butt off and making sure I eat healthy." They left me alone after that,…
  • Funny how that works. Good for you, though, and you'll have more success now that you have it! If I workout without mine I feel naked. :)
  • Oh, and the "eat back your calories thing"...if you dip too low on calorie consumption, your body will think you are starving it and will go into self defense mode, actually causing you to gain weight rather than lose it.
  • If you continue to do the same exercises and don't change it up, your body becomes adept at those movements and it takes less effort to do the same things, making your caloric expenditure less. If you change it up daily or even weekly, you will force your body to use your muscles in different ways, burning more calories. I…
