1. Hook with Robin Williams and Julia Roberts. It's truly awful but was a childhood favourite. 2. Con Air with Nicholas Cage. 3. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Totally campy but a family favourite!

I like the blue cheese variety on celery sticks with a touch of hot sauce. It's all the flavours that accompany hot wings and makes a great low cal, high flavour snack.

I've been enjoying Lipton's Green Tea Superfruit: Red Goji and Raspberry tea lately. I also love several of the flavours of YogiTea.

Sounds delicious!

I am using Ayurvedic (ancient Indian) cooking as part of my health efforts. I make a lot of homecooked Indian dishes, mostly from Ayurvedic Cooking for Self Healing by Usha Lad and Dr. Vasant Lad. I have seen good results in lowering my cholesterol and blood pressure but still need to work on portion control to see…

Turning 37 on Monday. : )

Cucumbers and tomatoes are a great start! Beans, peppers, radishes and green onions are also easy to grow from either seed or plant starts. And don't forget herbs! You can grow herbs among your veggies. Try oregano, basil, and mint.

Great info, Jen! Thanks so much for sharing. Food combining vs seasons vs eating local has me a bit confused as well. I'm doing my best to follow the guidelines in the books I have. I think it's great that you had the opportunity to talk to an ayurvedic professional. Good for you!

haha, naturally! : ) I would guess that many of us with weight to lose have a kapha imbalance at the moment. But doshas change... we could balance ourselves right into another dosha!

For those who are interested, someone started an "Ayurveda" group. If you're following Ayurveda, feel free to join us.

Check out www.ayurveda.com. It's the website of a well-known Ayurvedic physician and there's a "Find your dosha" quiz in the Education section of the website, I think. The books I have also have comprehensive quizes. Let me know if you'd like me to scan and email them to you. To health! tmc

Hello! I'm not an expert either, but I am working to incorporate Ayurvedic principles into my life. I am working with the book Ayurveda: A Life of Balance. I am 100% Kapha and trying to learn how to balance out so my body will let go of the extra negativity and weight I've been carrying for so long. At the moment I'm…

me too!

Fantastic! So encouraging to see that the hard work pays off.

Feel free to add me. We're in for a long, rewarding journey!

Hi!

Did you find this on the FoodNetwork site? It's a little different from the one he presents on the show. Have you followed it? Any luck? I like that it focuses on whole, nourishing foods. Thinking of giving it a try. Might have to find a substitute for the fish, though. I know Mr. Brown loves those little fish but I don't!…

Feel free to add me. I'll do my best to support and encourage. : )

Have compassion for yourself! Take the time your body needs to heal before jumping back into strenuous activities. You might be eager to get back to your previous routine, but your body needs other types of care from you for now, like rest and gentle exercise. Continue to eat healthy, nourishing foods, and listen to your…

I have aspirations of being a clean eater. Thanks for posting the guidelines. Feel free to add me.

Great job! Thanks so much for posting. It's so encouraging to see what a difference "just" 10 lbs can make.

I was on it for some time a few years ago. It didn't help much and the withdrawal symptoms are THE WORST. Could be different for everyone, though.

You can add me if you want.

Same thing happens to me. I try drinking water but sometimes that makes it worse. Sometimes hot water or tea helps. Ultimately it may just come down to discipline and changing our habits. Also making sure we're choosing the most nutrient-dense real foods possible, and not eating empty calorie processed foods.

I'd suggest dealing with the source of stress because continuing as you have been is not going to result in long term health. I'm also Type 2 diabetic, controlled by diet, and eating regularly (like every 4 hours) is important. If you're physically unable to eat and keep food down because of stress, you need to deal with…

Any journey is a series of decisions. Just make them one at a time, and make them good, and you'll see results. : )

I'm new to WAPF though I've known about it for a few years. I like the idea of Real Food but am still a little shy of trying cod liver oil! : )

The post the day before definitely helps! I can't always check the board in the morning. : )

Settings, then "update diet profile." You can change height, weight, sex, there. : )

I'm also going to get some of his dvds but not right away. I want to make a little progress first, and have the dvds be a reward for continued motivation. There are days when I can't even will myself to go for a walk, let alone have Mr. Harper kick my butt via dvd. : )
