Hi Jeridith! I have been learning about WAPF principles for a while but just recently started implementing them. I have a lot of weight to lose but am confident that I can lose it eating Real Food.

Balance is always a struggle for me, as well. I'm very all-or-nothing. Best of luck on your journey!

It's disappointing to hear of anyone being so discouraging. I think MFP is a good tool and do plan to use it while participating in OA.

I had a good experience at my first real meeting. I'd attended 2 meetings a few years ago but wasn't ready to sincerely work the program. It was a small meeting, just 6 of us. It was a book study meeting so we spent some time reading out of the AA Big Book, then everyday shared something about themselves. I wasn't…

I think so, too! I'm quite keen to give the 5:2 a try. There's a group here on MFP for it as well.

I'll go first. After a while of being off the kapha-balancing routine I've definitely noticed a decline in my health. There is so much to be said about eating appropriately for your dosha and following a sound daily routine. I can't stress what a positive difference it can make enough. I like Tibetan butter tea. It's certainly not for dieting but every once in a while a nice hot mug is a great treat. black tea + milk + water + a dash of sugar + a small pat of butter. Mix well til frothy. It's an acquired taste but I love it.

I've been in a similar situation and I can tell you that it IS possible to overcome depression (or at least get it to a managable level) without leaning too heavily on others (except maybe your doctor). My closest friends live states away and my husband is always on the road. Being alone often just means you have all the…
