  • My FAVE! I do lots of ways - fish tacos using fire roasted mango salsa (from Trader Joes). I often use a tablespoon of low cal dressing, sprinkle with panko and roast in 400 oven for 15 mins. Recently I used this method with the Litehouse Orange Citrus dressing - YUMMO!

  • It is key to eat in the morning to get your metabolism going. I used to have to force myself to eat in the morning - wait an hour or two if you have to - but EAT breakfast. When it is stalled - you won't feel like eating. I held onto lots of weight by doing this. Good luck!

  • I was growing out of my 1X's and was going to have to buy the 2X's! I REALLY want this - I lecture myself everyday to stay focused and exercise (I still hate it). MFPeeps help keep me focused - this site is what really is working for me. I know now that this is for the rest of my life.
  • A long as you are in the "zone" you are burning fat. A continuous workout should get it up to your max target - it get's past my target zone with Zumba, for example. The key is the keep the AVERAGE in your target zone :-)

  • You are at an age that it will probably bounce back - just do some toning and strength exercises - along with cardio. I have lost a lot and seeing my skin get a big saggy and crepey (sp?) - but I am 25 years older than you!

  • There are reduced sodium turkey slices out there - or better yet - roast a fresh turkey breast (I like Empire Kosher that I buy at Trader Joes but most major chains have them in the meat department). Slice and enjoy for dinner and lunches all week. You can even freeze the sliced meat.
  • I find the same thing. 1 - switchup your workouts and 2) make sure to adjust your heart rate monitor strap to comfortably tight. I continually do this but just yesterday I noticed it was lose - and I burned 100 more in a 60 min workout than I did a few days before!

  • Give it some time - it will come. While I have lost the weight (cardio cardio, cardio) I am still toning in the mid-section. I do Tony Horton's 7 min abs (on YouTube) everyday - plus my Zumba instructor is Zumba Tone certified and is focusing on this section for me!

  • I love my protein shakes in the morning - post workout for me. If you want to get it up to 100 I think it would be wise to add one. There are zillions of things you can put in them - lots of recipes - just Google. I get one that is low cal and low sugar - Designer Whey - use French Vanilla more than the Chocolate.
  • Go to the store - look at labels. Buy something yummy and allow yourself a portion of it EVERY day! That way you always know you get your treat - I do mine after dinner. Just make sure your treat fits into the calorie plan. This is REAL life afterall
  • Just took a glance at a couple of days - looks really great. Suggest you try to stay under what MFP gives you in Carbs, Fats and Sodium - and go over in Protein and Fiber. Track all of these. Good luck to you!

  • While I was losing, I took some of the clothes that I really liked to the tailor at the dry cleaner. That way I did not have to continually buy and donate through the loss. It's cheaper than buying new - and I got to wear the clothes that I really loved. I did donate A LOT and gave some to my sister too.
  • Salmon is the worst fish for people who do not like FISH! Try halibut or mahi mahi. My easiest prep is to slather on a tablesppon of light italian dressing and sprinkle panko bread crumbs on top. A bit of salt and plenty of pepper. Pop into a 400 oven for 15-20 minutes and it is YUM!
  • Take over the control. While she is your Mother - she is a guest in YOUR home. YOU do the cooking and the shopping - make yummy healthy meals for her! Fresh fruit with some fat free whipped topping for dessert!
