Right before the party, sabotage your appetite with, say, a protein shake, or some eggs, and a bunch of water. Then, when you're at the party, have a slice or two of pizza. This way you won't be super hungry, you won't seem rude, and you won't eat enough calories to make any difference in your momentum. These types of…

There's a company called Fiber One that makes some great snacks that help supplement fiber. Costco sells big boxes of their Oats and Chocolate bars that taste great. I never get tired of those and they are 9g of fiber each.

A variety of: vegetables, lean protein, fruit, whole grains, pretty much in that order.

Mine is open! Feel free to add. The past week was very bad logging-wise because I was on vacation, but other than that I'm a dedicated logger and have been for years.

Could use a new round of MFP buds after deleting a bunch of inactives. I really had high hopes for a lot of them too.

I'm quoting myself so that you read it. I read all the other replies and while they're mostly written with good intentions, my reply is the only one that provides the information that matters. That is, why the answer to your specific question is no, and what would be needed to actually accomplish your goal (even though…

Your question is: if you eat 1200 calories per day for 347 days in a row, can you lose 139 pounds with a starting weight of 276? The answer to that question is no. Your starting TDEE is about 2600 calories/day. At your goal weight, your TDEE will be about 1900. Your average TDEE throughout the process will be roughly 2200.…

Lose, not loose. You lose weight so that your pants become loose. Find a TDEE calculator, put in your information, and then multiply this number by 0.8. For instance, if you find out you burn 1900 calories a day, then 0.8x1900 = 1520 (round to 1500). You'd then eat 1500 calories per day (just an example). Prepare and…

This is what you need to read.

About 5500 calories. My appetite is in another league. It was an appetizer of something or other, fried mozzarella sticks maybe, an entire large buffalo chicken pizza from Mellow Mushroom, and two beers. The pizza alone was about 4400 calories. I could do that every day, and would if I didn't mind becoming morbidly obese.

The second part that's often missing after "There are no bad foods" is "... but there are bad diets." It's important to understand what's intended here. A good diet is one that:* Aligns closely with your calorie goals (lose/gain/maintain) * Is reasonably split among the macronutrients (protein/fat/carbohydrate) * Includes…

Once a week, on a weekend day after sleeping in (more dehydrated) and after using the bathroom, and with no clothing. By keeping conditions consistent like that, as best I can, I can get a good read on my progress.

My advice is to seek the help of a registered clinical dietician. Don't waste your time with a "nutritionist," as that profession isn't really regulated. I recommend a dietician because of your celiac diagnosis; you need a diet that is a bit more structured than one someone without celiac would need. The best that the non…

Costco sells some granola bars from Fiber One that have some not-too-sweet chocolate in them. I know anything with the word "fiber" involved doesn't sound particularly appetizing, but they taste good and are good for you, while giving you something sweet.

Ok, I hear you, but my feeling was that it's pretty hard for a woman to look like a man without drugs. Of course women are going to add muscle mass by weightlifting, but that's not the fear. The fear is that they'll lose their femininity, which I do think is a rare occurrence (if it ever happens) without drugs. Perhaps I'm…
-
There's basically no chance you'll ever look masculine. A lot of women seem to be under the impression that if they accidentally trip over a dumbbell on the floor, that by the time they pick themselves back up they'll have more muscles than they know what to do with and look like Frank Zane. The only women who actually…

Copying from a previous post of mine: For breakfast, get some cartons of egg whites at the store, mix them with an egg or two (in my case, 6 servings of egg whites and 2 large eggs), and scramble them. You can then add whatever you want and keep the variety going forever. In my case, this morning I heated some oil in a pan…

You don't want advice, you want attention. You have all the right information here and then some to move forward in a positive way but it seems as though you're putting all your energy into coming up with reasons you can't do any of it. This is a site about tracking nutrition, and the users are going above and beyond that…

To echo everyone else, it's a bad idea. There is nothing wrong with carbohydrates, but they don't keep you full like the other macros (fat and protein) do. You mentioned carbs are the bulk of your diet due to your perception of them being so cheap, so that's part of your issue. I eat about 1600-1700 calories per day, and…

There will certainly be times when you have to do some algebra, so I'll also answer your original question in a way that I think is more intuitive than just more math. Let's simplify the problem by first getting rid of fractions, so the concept is more clear. Let's also assume you measured out dry oatmeal (rather than…
-
For this, we're going to venture a bit outside of math here and into the realm of one of its applications: physics. A cup is a unit of volume; that is, how big something is, and grams are a unit of mass (how much matter something has). When you measure your food with volume, it's not quite as accurate as measuring by mass.…

Mopping can actually make a difference. Not only do you get your floors squeaky clean but you burn calories doing so.

Why not 100 pounds in a year? A year goes by fast and such a goal is much more likely to happen.

Posting to keep this thread going. Add me if you'd like.

LOL I bet I'll be the only guy posting. Current weight: 165, Goal weight: 155. My lean mass is around 142, so 155 will bring me down to under or around 10% fat. The dream.
