  • I use Welder's gloves when using my Big Green Egg to BBQ. Saves the burns to arms! I also use a pressure cooker a lot. It's a great time saver, especially for cooking brown rice.
  • In the fridge right now there are 6 different types of mustard (I recently discovered Russian horseraddish mustard), and 4 types of Ketchup. I must say that the Cleavland Stadium Mustard is amazing! Wish I could buy it in Canada.
  • After concentrating on eating whole foods, I find myself more sensitive to salt. I find almost anything that I don't make at home too salty.

  • If you take a protein powder everyday, you could look at switching to one with a higher iron content. I use one that is whole food based and and has 22% of the recommended daily intake.

  • I am also from Canada. For Omega's we take Barlean's Omega Swirl (made from fish oil). It's a liquid that you take on a spoon. Don't worry it acutally has zero fish taste and tastes like Lemon Pie. Yum! My wife (who doesn't really like fish) and kids take it with no problem. I also add whole hemp seeds (from Costco) or…
  • Just had Beet, Carrot and Quinoa soup for supper today. Thinking about adding the beets to a smoothie recipe. They might taste good with apples...
  • Read the book "Do You Have the Guts to be Beautiful" by Dr. Mitra Ray Great recipes and information linking what we put into our body to the appearance of our skin, etc. My wife says the facial is great!
  • Used to hate olives. Now I am starting to like them and can eat them. Not sure what that means. Am I getting fatter or skinnier!?
  • Get a pressure cooker! Save time and make healthy meals. You can even use them to cook rice. I learnt all about them on fastcooking.ca
  • Smoothies with berries! I know that was said already, but they are great. Dried fruit as well.
  • Skip the Jamba Juice and buy a VitaMix! You can save money, stop using styrofoam cups, and cut out the sugar. We use ours for 3 smoothies a day.
  • I add protein powder to my morning fruit and vegetable smoothie every morning. I wouldn't start my day without it. Switching to a greek style yogurt is also good as there is more protein compared to regular yogurt.
