If you are interested in running check out the Couch to 5k program. It works and is free.

I have found that gum helps me :) Also making sure that I pack a really good meal (I work night shift too). I always have carrots and popcorn in my lunch, as well as a high protein main course. Good luck!

I agree the Couch to 5k is the way to go. If you follow the plan and stick with you will be running three miles by the end. You can find many free plans on the web. Good luck :)

Wow this could be me except The only difference is my husbands believe that I run to much (currently training for my 2nd half) and that it is not normal. I feel better and have more energy than I have ever had in my life. I want to loss between another 5-10lbs. I may look thinner than before but believe me there are still…

Exactly you need to believe in yourself and look to yourself to motivate. Sure it's fun to have others cheer you on but you need to be your number 1 cheerleader. With that said don't give up you can do it!!!!

4 mile run with my dog

Exactly the same thing here. I love longer distance but can not stand 5ks (it takes me a good 2 miles to warm up). Intervals are not only great for increasing your speed but are also great for weight loss. I would work more on your base mileage before worrying about speed. Also as others have said make sure to have rest…

Joining in late...my goal is to lose 6lbs. Not a lot I know but my original goal was to reach 153lb (I am 6'0") but now I am thinking I want to be below 150lb. I am having a hard time losing these last few lbs as I have had a few bad days lately. I am hoping this is the motivation I need. cookds36....I did the C25k plan…

I wore my fuel belt during my half as it held my GU too. Usually during 5k's there are not water stops but you should get water and food at the end.

You really only need to do one long run a week. I just did my first half in June and I followed the Finish It Half Marathon Plan by Another Mother Runner. I loved it, very easy to do. Here is the link http://anothermotherrunner.com/2012/06/11/corrected-and-free-finish-it-half-marathon-plan/ Before starting it you need to…

I like mine with fresh berries, bananas and almonds. I also use it in my tuna fish and egg salad. I get hannaford plain fat free. Even my 3yr old likes it

I like sliced up bell peppers, cucumbers, broccoli and LOVE carrots and celery. I eat all of these raw and without any dressing. My husband snacks on tomato slices with salt and pepper.
