I use this one: https://thisoldgal.com/instant-pot-greek-yogurt/ The only difference between regular yogurt and Greek is that Greek is strained. I use the strainer she recommends in that link and it works awesome.

I do a lot of meal-prepping, and here are some strategies I use to make sure my daily requirements are met. - Before dividing my batch into portions, I input all my ingredients into the MFP Recipe Builder to get the calorie count. In the Recipe Builder, you can change the serving size to get a prediction of how many…

I've done 16:8 for a long time, now I'm transitioning into 20:4 for maintenance. I hope to maintain without calorie counting, so the shorter feeding window should help with that. It's only been 2 days of 20:4 but I really like it so far. I have a late lunch at 3pm, then dinner at around 6pm. The 3pm lunch keeps me going…

Yep, I'm a weekly meal-prepper. I leave 3 days worth of meals in the fridge, then put the rest in the freezer. When the fridge is empty, I pull out another 3 days worth of food. Works great. The key to meal-prepping is choosing recipes that reheat well. I find that "saucy" recipes work the best. Things like stews, soups,…

Yes! :)

If you're at home, put the slice on the scale and get the gram weight. Find a similar entry in the database with the option of gram weights.

Very well said. Another point in favor of 'whole foods' is that in some cases, processing a food can reduce its satiety level for the amount of calories it is. Classic example: eating a whole apple vs. drinking a cup of apple juice.

You can customize your meal titles and how many meal sections there are. I currently just have: "3pm-7pm", and "Supplements", as I'm doing 20:4.

There are some veggies that are very low in calories - like you could eat a big bowl of them for maybe 50 calories. The carbs you're seeing a mostly due to fiber content. Fiber is considered a carb but it passes through your body unabsorbed.

Yup. I've lost most of my weight sedentary. I sometimes go for walks or do yoga, but not regularly enough to consider myself very active.
-
I think being active in general is better than not being active and you should listen to your body and do what's right for you. :)

"The phrase tongue-in-cheek is a figure of speech that describes a statement or other expression that the speaker or author does not mean literally, but intends as humor or otherwise not seriously." :)
-
I know the title is tongue-in-cheek, but if there is a man out there who doesn't know what a period is or is offended by that word... god help him.

None. I love anything and everything, and I fit them into my goal just fine. :)

Life is too short to not eat pizza.

Meal prep! I just make everything on Sunday, enough to last my fiance and I the rest of the week. We just pull meals out of the fridge and microwave. Here are some of my faves: - Teriyaki chicken with fried rice and steamed broccoli - Butter chicken with spiced basmati rice and roasted butternut squash - Chili - Beef stew…

I try not to keep large quantities of treats in my house. If I feel like baking cookies, I'll wait till we're having friends over or hosting a party, so the cookies will be gone by the time the party ends. Same with bags of chips. I manage my sweet/savory tooth by finding lower-calorie options to work into my day. For…

Why not just use MFP's guided setup to create your calorie goal? It will calculate your approximate TDEE and set a deficit based on your preferred rate of loss (.5 - 2lbs lost per week).

I love sweet red grapes with an aged cheddar.

I'm in the process of transitioning away from calorie counting, so here are a few strategies you could try. - Make sure your meals are heavy on veggies (steamed if possible). Take smaller portions of rice and fried stuff. - Intermittent fasting can be a great way to naturally manage your calorie intake. There are a few…

Isn't the natural diet of dogs and cats high-protein? If you want to prepare a raw diet of meat and bones for your pets, that seems pretty safe and commonly done. I've heard a high-fat diet is quite bad for cat/dog organs. I wouldn't personally take the risk.

10lbs since January, so around 1lbs per week. I'm 5'7", female, currently at 140lbs.

How long without dairy would it take to find out, do you think? I've gone a week or two without dairy intake without a difference, just not sure if I should try longer!

I'm in a frustrating situation like this right now, sadly there are not many specialized gastroenterologists in town. I had a C-scope and I've been suffering with strange bowel issues for over a year (after having a perfect bowel since childhood) and my gastro just keeps telling me to eat more fiber. Maybe I'll need to…

I like the Kirkland brand multi.

Gosh, please don't. You need protein and fat. Apples are sugar, vitamins, water and fiber. That's not enough to meet nutritional needs. Fad diets are pointless and don't teach you anything about maintaining your weight in the long-term. Do yourself a big favor and grab a $12 digital kitchen scale, use MFP Guided Setup to…

I did some research between Polar, Garmin and Fitbit and settled on Fitbit. I like the small, sleek devices that don't look like a brick on my tiny wrist. And Fitbit has the nicest app UI. And I liked the additional features that Fitbit provides.

Try to remind yourself that any day you eat under your TDEE (maintenance calories) means weight loss. Sure, it might just be a fraction of weight loss, but it is a calorie deficit! Celebrate it! On the same page, one day eating above your TDEE isn't going to ruin all your progress. A pound of fat takes about 3500 excess…

I have the Alta HR. It's my first Fitbit. I like that it's one of the smaller models, I have very petite wrists and most watches look ridiculous on me. I bought a metal magnetic band on Amazon to go with it and it's much better than the rubber band that comes with it. Overall, I like it. It seems pretty accurate. I enjoy…

Are you vegetarian? If not - meat and seafood is your friend! Lots of it!
