  • Your menu made me hungry. That's really the only input this newbie has.
  • Akima, could you give me a breakdown of how much of each you add for your Bulletproof concoction? I buy fair trade organic Kcups (because I am a lazy bish) and I already have grassfed butter. (It isn't Kerrygold but its grassfed/pastured) I also have Coconut oil from Trader Joe's... Soo I just need a good ratio. TIA
  • Smallpale (which P.S. is probably the best damn name ever) I have been a calorie counter for a really long time - with really pisspoor results. Since transitioning (sometimes slowly and sometimes backsliding) into Paleo, my weight is steadily dropping off - finally. But, I still track every single thing I eat. I would like…
  • I only "sell" Bad-*kitten* hair styles - so unless you live in Virginia, there's little chance I would bug you. I'm a married, working mom of two daughters (14 and 11) and I am a very busy hair stylist. Did I mention I'm also finishing my B.S. in Elementary Education? Add that to trying to get healthy. Even typing it makes…
  • If the cookie breaks the calories fall right out.
  • I have the Link, after having the old non bluetooth version a couple years back. I really love the link. Like others, I wish there was not a monthly fee for something that is already so expensive up front. However, I like seeing exactly what I have done for the day on my iPhone, and that knowledge makes me get up and move…
  • Like several here, I weigh near daily (scale hop I call it) but I only record it on Thursdays. Period - it doesn't matter if it went up or down on that recording day, it gets logged. I like to be able to see the pattern, and I think its an honest way of logging.
  • My sister-in-law, who was quite sedentary, did Curves and liked it. I tried it - but having set foot in a real gym before - I thought it was a complete waste. The room was dominated by little old ladies and jazz/pop style music... Just not for me. Give me a real gym and my own ipod! ;)

  • A lady, sporting a "It's a Wrap" t-shirt and all - came into our salon last night and asked if she could leave cards at the front desk. We said "Sure!" She told us we should write our names on them and if we had 4 turned in with our name - oh boy oh boy - we'd earn a freeeee wrap! Um yeah... about 31.5 seconds after she…
  • I typically find the more profanity, the lower the vocabulary level. Total turn off.
  • This! When I am "obsessive" about keeping a very detailed journal of intake and output - I succeed at losing weight. When I just chuck it all - I succeed at gaining... Wrong direction for me! This article is dumb. The idea that because you are trying to get healthy automatically means you have an eating disorder is…
  • I am right there with you. I average 1700 a day, with a lightly to moderately active job. (Hair Stylist in a busy shop) On my off days I try to do something at home or go to the gym. If I fail to do that, I eat less that day. My bottom line "sweet spot" is keeping about a 1k deficit each day.
  • 34 here - will turn 35 in November. I have about 70 lbs to go - depending on where my body settles. I always say that my goal weight is 128 - the last time I told the truth on my driver's license - aka when I was 20. I was not "in shape" then - I was a skinny-fat college brat who thought she was chubby. I have 2 kids, 1…
  • Maiden Name: physician's assistant in Portland, also.. a sex offender living in Florida - sheesh Married Name: Myself (social media) and a criminal who lives in Texas...
  • I have been trying the 8 hour thing for 1 week.. I am up 1 pound. Calorie consumption has been the same, or less, and I have done the 8 minutes of exercise as suggested every morning. I have also maintained my regular activity level. Really disappointed at this juncture. My only thought is MAYBE its a sodium thing since I…
  • I was in week 4 of Stage 1, but started over after vacation. We were on a cruise and the gym layout wasn't really conducive to the workouts so instead of trying to struggle through it - I decided to just do cardio and mess around on the weight machines. So, I decided this week to start over fresh. During the 4 weeks…
  • Crazy how 20 lbs makes that big of a difference! You look great, and I bet you feel awesome.
  • I use shakes as post workout snacks, or as a snack replacement. I typically go with Weight Watcher's smoothies, Arbonne chocolate or even GNC Lean Shake. If I have enough calories to play with for that snack, I use milk and peanut butter to get a good boost of protein. I would not ever just replace all my meals with them.…
  • 5'3 on the nose here with 100.6 lbs of lean mass (results from bodpod test) so with that information, I am aiming for body fat of 24-25% so ... My goal is between 124 and 128. Last time I weighed 128 (also the last time I told the truth on my driver's license) was pre-kids. I was not fit, I did not work out - so in all…
  • I never heard of doing it in the fridge - and you can use instant oats too? May need to stop by trader joe's this morning..
  • Okay, now I see what you are saying I think. Where I was confused is that I stated I was consuming 1200 a day with no loss - and when you said reduce I boggled! :) If I am now on the same page - I will start with the TDEE numbers given from the bodpod test, and reduce from those - rather than bottoming below 1200. Thanks…
  • So reduce down below 1200? I don't understand where the TEE numbers factor in if I am supposed to bottom out on calories like that...
  • My turn for a question or eight! Okay, my stats... I have been gaining and losing the same 10 lbs for over a year. I am beyond frustrated. I am currently using Weight Watchers and MFP simultaneously (mostly just the meetings at WW - tracking on MFP). After not seeing any change in weight, I went to the Health and Wellness…
  • Thanks for the answers!
  • I had a question regarding the 30 day Shred as well... Hope you don't mind me tacking it on here. I just started 30 Day Shred yesterday. I chose to start yesterday since I had plans that I knew would interfere with my normal gym time. Now, my question is - do you 'Shredders' do the 30DS workout on top of a gym day? I went…
