  • Welcome to the group!! :flowerforyou: Down 1lb since Sunday is fantastic!! Not sure what time on Wed's - I usually do mine first thing in the morning, after the bathroom but before I have anything to eat or drink. You're ticker looks great!
  • It shouldn't be a problem because you're supposed to eat back your exercise calories anyways. Some people swear by it, others choose not to eat any of them and some go down the middle and eat half of them. As long as you're loosing you should be good to go.
  • Can't help with the type of underwear... but my hubby sometimes has some 'issues' caused by heat - recommend baby powder to help with the problem.
  • I've heard that on average a woman burns 500 calories a day if they're nursing exclusively. Congratulations on your new baby!
  • A treat I always think of from my childhood is Puff Wheat Squares - delicious! 8 cups puffed wheat cereal 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 1/3 cup corn syrup 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/3 cup butter or margarine Place puffed wheat in a large bowl, and set aside. Grease one 9x9 inch pan. Grease the rim of a medium…
  • As a way to try to skip the snack foods I suggest investing in a slow-cooker. You can throw a bunch of ingredients in it in the morning (or the night before and just grab it out of the fridge) and let it cook while you're at work. When you come home you'll have a nice healthy meal to eat... plus your house will smell…

  • Bump! Sounds like a yummy summer treat. I  Cheesecake!!
  • My husband is a real chicken lover, but always likes it cooked the same way which is boring. I find lots of healthy recipes on Kraft Canada's website. Take a look. http://www.kraftcanada.com/en/recipes/healthy-living/SmartSuppers.aspx
  • Letty is absolutely correct! A person's weight fluctuates about 2lbs during a day - this is due to the food we eat and water we take in. I too was obsessed with the scale at one point - when you have such fantastic results in the beginning it's hard not to check your weight often, but in the long run it's going to be…
  • You could easily do up a Chicken stir-fry you have so many yummy veggies that would work wonderfully. You could still use the whole wheat pasta - I like to serve mine over the WW Spaghetti. I know my DH and I aren't big on cauliflower so I cut it up and boil it with potatoes and mash them all together. It's delicious!
  • Welcome Rosy! Your story sounds a lot like mine, only I was older, shorter and heavier!! LOL!! You've come to the right place - I've been on the site since Jan 2009 and had managed to loose 47lbs before getting pregnant. Now that baby is here I'm back at it. The people here are great for support. There's lots of groups…

  • It actually went really well! We got our butt in gear and spent a few hours grocery shopping - she slept while I hauled around her and the cart. Logged in 105 mins of walking - Wish I could figure out just how much weight I was actually pushing around in those carts (bought cat food, dog food, regular groceries, a baby car…
  • Wow! You can really see the difference. Congratulations!! :flowerforyou:
  • Jay you know how proud I am of you... like I said "you worked your *kitten* off to work your *kitten* off!" My experience with people like your in-laws is that they feel the need to discredit your hard work to make them feel better about themselves. If your SIL isn't eating and over exercises she obviously has emotional…
  • I wish my weigh-in was as good as everyone elses... I'm up 0.5lbs, not too bad but I was hoping to see a bit more of a loss. I've been making lots of new meals - with lots of veggies the last week which is totally new for me. Guess the couple of treats of chocolate did it to me! :blushing: My BIL & SIL are coming out…
  • Not counting and eating freely are two different things... I think have a little fun and eat some of those yummy treats - but be aware of what and how much, so you don't undo the hard work you've already done! Happy early birthday!
  • Congratulations!! Can't wait to join you there...
  • Welcome Jessica!! You've come to the right place, MFP was suggested to me over a year ago by a friend and has been amazing - I was able to loose 47lbs (before getting pregnant) just by watching what I ate (logging everything) and adding more moderate exercise into my life. The people here are fantastic! It's a wonderful…
  • Anyone else watch Oprah today? She had Jamie Oliver on about his new TV show Food Revolution... what an eye opener it was to see the "extra large" casket!! :noway: I liked the sounds of his chicken nugget recipe and think it might make it into the next rotation of things I try - just need a lemon and a few of the herbs.…
  • Great job so far Corrie! When I first started on MFP I weighed 255lbs and managed to lose 47lbs by following the suggested calorie intake, walking and working out on the Wii - so it is possible to see some real results doing what you're doing!! Keep at it and it'll just start to fall off, little bit by little bit.
  • Awesome job Jay! I might have to look into some workout DVD's - I'm loosing the weight but still feeling flabby; baby belly could certainly use some toning!
  • I lost another 1.1lbs this week! Yeah! I even had a couple of not do great days - glad they didn't impact too much, just that much more motivation to stay on tract. Only 10lbs until I reach my pre-preggo weight!!!!
  • Morning ladies! I've been super diligent logging all my food in the food journal and have been giving up some of my Oprah time (LOL) to do a bit of exercise - most has been inside, but I did manage to get baby and dog out for a walk in between rain storms this past week. Looks like it's starting to pay off - this weeks…
  • Well I skipped Oprah yesterday and did the Wii Active - oh my goodness, even on easy my legs are killing me today! Slow and steady wins the race...

  • Unfortunately I was up a bit from 2 weeks ago when I weighed myself - 222.7lbs which is up 1.4lbs. I have to stop my extra snacking during the day, increase my water intake (which will help with stopping snacking) and get back to some exercise. Thinking I could break out the Wii EA Active while Abigail is having a nap - 30…

  • Hi ladies! I'm back.... I didn't get a chance to weigh-in yesterday morning - so I'm hoping there was no change from the week before. My baby girl, Abigail, is now here and it's time for Mommy to start working on a healthier, happier and less frumpy her! This is a fresh start and am trying really hard to get…
  • Have to agree with madmama... I've also heard that you should try drinking water first. Your tummy 'rumbles" whether its hungry or thirsty. I also try the water first and 9 times out of 10 it's just thirsty.
  • Hello my fellow canucks... I haven't forgotten about any of you (check in often, just don't post). Had my doctors appointment yesterday and am happy to say that I've only gained 16lbs so far this pregnancy and am at the 29 week mark!! I agree with Jay... Krystle you need to eat! Not eating will only make things…
  • Hello all my fellow Canucks!! I have been MIA for quite a while now, just too much going on and been too tired to try to keep up with everything. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas - and didn't over eat too much, like I did. :blushing: Ashamed to say I was quite the little piggy this season... looks like I've gained a…
  • Just checking in! I'm still around, and getting a bit more round each week  My weight gain for this pregnancy is right on track so far - hopefully I can keep at it. I'm still SO TIRED all the time, all I ever want to do is sleep so that's made exercising pretty much non-existant lately. Fruit challenge... hmm.. I…
