  • OMG, unless you have a medically diagnosed condition, DO NOT go gluten free. It is unhealthy and unnecessary. As someone who has to be gluten free, it makes me want to punch people who hop on the gluten free fad diet band wagon. You will get fat, and you will deserve it.
  • I drink a big glass of water when I am hungry. Sometimes I am just dehydrated. Just like sleep, if you don't get enough water, your body will trick you into eating.
  • get 20 grams of protein at every meal and 30 grams for fiber daily- and of course...lots water. it will help a lot with being hungry.
  • I would definitely see a doctor, but I am not sure I would see one at a surgical weight loss center. If you are truly counting your calories accurately, eating the right types of food, getting plenty of water, rest & exercise- you may need to see if you have some sort of underlying medical condition.
  • drink lots of water, watch your sodium, get some good protein after your work outs, and just keep at it. My thighs did get bigger, but they don't jiggle, so I'm down with that. Also, 20 grams of protein at every meal helped me. Also, make sure you are eating enough. Do you have a heart rate monitor or something to track…
  • I am also terrible at push ups. The only thing that helped me was starting out by lying on the floor and pushing up from there, and then all the way back down. Eventually you work up to a regular push up, or when you feel like you cant do another real push up, switch back to starting on the floor.
  • I'd rather be fat. Yep, I said it. You can't make this a lifestyle if it doesn't fit into your real life.
  • Every time I go over, I remind myself that 3500 calories = 1 pound. You are already eating at a deficit, so unless you ate 3500 calories extra, you are fine. Also, keep in mind you are shooting for weight loss by the week, not the day so just eat a little less on the other days. I have been known to take some of the extra…
  • I would either find 30 minutes right after work, or use your lunch break. Do you have a desk job? Can you eat at your desk if your workout runs over. Or, and this seems painful, I would get up at 5 and workout until 5:30. Your kids are old enough that they could help out. The 17 yr old can help the 12 yr old with homework,…
  • I try to keep every meal around 300 calories. However, eat when you are hungry. I like to eat at night, so if I eat too much in the morning it messes me up.
  • When I first started, I depended on Think Thin (peanut butter & brownie flavors are the best) bars for breakfast in the morning. I ate them on my way to work...and they taste pretty good with coffee. Quest bars are good too if you have a microwave.
  • It would be better to just adjust your macros to 30% protein and let the other numbers work themselves out. It is more about high protein/low fat than low carbs that really helps you lose the weight. Protein keeps you full and keeps your metabolism going. Your carbs should come from high fiber sources. When you look at it…
  • I eat 30% protein, but I have found I really have to plan out my meals to eat that much protein and still stay within my calorie goal- so I think it is important to point out that 30% protein is not like Atkins where you can have a pound of bacon for dinner. It is still lean protein.
  • I think it is important to note that the number indicates your rib size and the letter is the boob size. So, weight loss will generally be seen (for me anyway) in the number first, because if you are lifting, your are building your pectoral muscles which may make sit seem like your boobs are the same size. However, their…
  • I think this is a little obsessive. You should shoot to be within about 100 calories of your daily goal, whether that is plus or minus 100 calories, it doesn't matter because it is more about your weekly goal than daily goal. Granted, if you are regularly over by 100 calories, that will be 700 calories for a week- but you…
  • I am doing well, but I find that I actually lose about .5-1 pound a week instead of my 2 pound goal. I suspect this is because a 1000 calorie deficit puts me closer to 1000 calories- and that is just wack. I eat back every single exercise calorie though. I have a fitbit to track my activities, and on active days I usually…
  • I like brummel and brown. Also, you can cook with it.
  • If you have Celiac, there isn't anything you can do. Some people say you can take enzymes if you are just gluten intolerant, but I don't know about that. Obviously, you cant avoid all cross contamination or miss labeling, but you should be as careful as possible. Celiac is an autoimmune disease which means your body…
  • This is what I do...although I have upped my protein to 30%, and I don't track my sugar- just carbs. I try to hit my protein goals, get 30 grams of fiber and keep my cholesterol below 200, but other than that if I am within my calories goals I eat anything I want.
  • lots of protein.
  • not fat- doughy. you just need to tone up and you will look less squishy.
  • a lot egg whites + 1 whole egg. It is the only think that helps me.
  • why does it matter when people complete their diary? It is their diary. Mind your own diary.
  • I would make sure you are logging your food correctly. Get a food scale and weigh and measure everything you eat for a while. My guess is that you might be underestimating what you ate. Serving sizes are a lot smaller than people realize.
  • brew the coffee tonight and drink it iced in the morning. I don't know about all protein powders, but I know Shakeology isn't supposed to be heated.
  • I eat 1200 if I don't do anything...on active days I eat up to 1500. Then exercise on top of that. MFP will only deduct calories if you have a tracker that syncs. I wouldn't eat 2000 calories, but I think you could plan on eating all 1200 calories before you go to the gym and then eat back the additional calories.
  • I wear mine, but I have weight lifting gloves that protect it.
  • I do not like plain stevia. I think it has a funky taste. However, I love Truvia- and my husband even tolerates it. Truvia is a blend of stevia and something else I can't remember. It is still zero calorie, etc. To be honest, if you are going to make me throw away my Splenda and give up diet soda...you've got to at least…

  • I hate to burst the 11 chip bubble...but that is not always accurate. Which is why I weigh out my precious 1 oz.
  • How long did this take you? What were your calories like and how much did you exercise? You are where I want to be. Never mind...just saw the answer above.
