cashew milk is only 25cal per cup... and it's tasty!

The point is that fats are fine, but it's easy to overeat your calories through fats because they are more than twice the calorie load per gram than carbs. That's all. I'm not a hater. There are appx 120 calories in 14 grams of oil (1 tablespoon). It's easy to underestimate your caloric intake when you are not paying…

The thing is that fat carries with it 9cals for each gram, so a person can easily overeat in calories without realizing it. I watch my "free fats" meaning extracted oils, or fats in sauces and dressings. I don't think it's fair advice to say it's all macros when the measurement of those macros is different. Sugars are…

On the east coast, we have a room with a sink & cupboards we call a "wet pantry." Also, I would call a "flat" an apartment in a city that is above a storefront. (US)

omgosh, that's so strange!

I'm not so sure about this. Grill is flame on the bottom; broil is flame on the top.

I use naked pb, which is similar, but doesn't have any additives. I mix 12g NPB with 8g real maple syrup and leftover coffee to consistency. Similar effect, it sounds like!

Its in the timing of adding vegetables I usually stir fry in order of hard-to-soft excluding ng base of onion, ginger and garlic. So carrots, celery, cabbage...

This is why this argument gets so hairy; see, I disagree. Isolated oils are not (in my reasonably-researched opinion) exactly healthy. Eating olives, sure. Avocados? Hells yes! Food already has all the fats you need packed right in them, but extracting them is not the same as eating them within their natural state. You can…

Between this and the post above, I think we'd get along pretty well! I eat clean, but now I focus on lean. That's why sometimes I write it like (c)lean. I don't eat meat (incl. fish) nor dairy, and I keep all isolated fats to a minimum. I can see how a person could eat "clean" and still gain weight, especially if fats,…

Like which?
-
Will you elaborate? Thanks.

I like to "eat clean," a d I found that my cravings reduced significantly after a few days of (c)lean eating. I still get a hankering, but unless I binge, the hankerings are less frequent and weaker.

Same here!

I like to bring homemade sushi! I roll it up the night before and pack intybe morning. I lime to eat things that don't require me touching them, like wraps (then wrapped in reusable paper or cloth). I also like to takes soups in my thermos.

Not to mention the price of sugar in the 19th century. Many people couldn't afford sugar until mid 20th

We have peanutbutter combos at the gas station. We have all these things you mentioned. Where are you?

You guys don't think the body processes complex and simple carbohydrates differently? Or am I misunderstanding...

I'm a high-carber! helloooo :)

Did something happen to peanut butter products that I don't know about?

"[Casein], which is present in all dairy products, can trigger the brain’s opioid receptors which are linked to addiction." http://www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/food-drink/cheese-triggers-the-same-part-of-brain-as-hard-drugs-study-finds-a6707011.html The hypothesis is that milk triggers this reaction so that baby…

The guardian also had a long format article & podcast about "The Sugar Conspiracy," which was super interesting! https://www.theguardian.com/society/2016/apr/07/the-sugar-conspiracy-robert-lustig-john-yudkin I think the Taubes position is mostly talking about sucrose, right? I mean "sugar" is a very blanket term which can…

okay, great! that's exactly what I was trying to figure out.. I don't want to double it up.

But that's the thing: I'm not sure what I'm supposed to count as calories: a bit over 1000 for yesterday, or only 450?
-
I don't have it automatic because it doesn't work very well, and it was adding to my fitbit dashboard, too. I bicycle commute & teach in an old school with no elevator. Before work yesterday, I biked to the yoga studio and did yoga sculpt). Fitbit counted my bike commute to the studio & back, and I used the function to log…

Thanks for your response, but I'm not sure I totally understand. :( So my fitbit says that yesterday I burned 2,921 calories yesterday. It only counted something like 450 as exercise, though I did do a little more than that. I don't always push the "workout" button because I'm reasonably active, but fitbit won't pick up an…
-
mine syncs only to the fitbit dashboard, so then I have to delete the second account on that site. Seems like an awful lot of work. If I wanted to just manually add my calorie burn, should I just subtract my TDEE and then use that? I wear my fitbit pretty much full time.

I don't know if you can see my exercise diary, but if you cannot, I'll open it up. I am just really not sure how to use this thing properly, lolz. I'm a bit of a Mennonite irl, so even the computer (sometimes) is beyond me.
