It's hard for me too. That's why working out in the morning is essential for me, or taking nice long walks at lunch. There is no where to go around my job so I just have to walk around each floor or go up and down the stairs a few times. If I don't do any of the above, I'll desperately have to work harder at home. I'll…

^I agree. And you cannot do this for him, you have to make up in your mind that this is something you want. Whether it be to have more energy for your kids or chores, health reasons, or to feel better about yourself. You can surely do it. Set a realistic goal. Use MFP as a tool, use the boards for motivation, and gain some…

Anytime before I am hungry is when I try to eat. When I am hungry, I can be a nasty beast!

Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!

During the weekdays, I try to workout before work around 4-5am. That way if something comes up it's already out of the way. I can focus on preparing lunch for the next day. On the wknds, I also like to workout early in the am then I can take care of all of errands.

This ^ I'm never going back!

Good advice already given. I hope your day gets better.

So was he waiting the whole 5 to 6 years for you to lose the weight? If you are a pound under your goal by wedding day is he not going to walk down the aisle? Was he like this the entire relationship? Just curious because this sounds ridiculous if he is actually serious, If he is not willing to move forward with you now…

You are awesome for just sharing the stories of others who have been in this situation. Thanks for posting! I will continue to be mindful of the power of my words.
-
Yeah, I hate when people try to attribute your weight loss success to your age. Excuse me! The secret is...there is no secret. It's a balance (struggle) between eating right and exercising. It is not easy, it is work like accomplishing any other goal.

I may not be much help here, but I only make it to the gym once a week as well. My other strength and endurance routines are at home or outside. When I am at the gym, I usually do the 5X5 Stronglifts or at least use it as a template for my strength workouts. This way I know I'm getting my compound lifts in. You can always…

I'm not sure how you would plug it in unless you put in something generic like Aeorbics. I usually use my HRM and manually enter my workout and calories burned.
-
Both. A HRM is good for exercise, and I purchased mines over a year ago. You can get a nice food scale from Target or Walmart for $20 and under. Also, I recently bought the FitBit which tracks your steps and calories you burn throughout the day. It has really helped me manage my weight. It's especially good when snyced…

I have done workouts with a cold. It depends on how my body feels. A common cold I can pretty much push through.

I loved running on treadmills until I found great paths to run outdoors. All my visual senses are stimulated and I keep a very good pace outside. On treadmills, I feel like I'm dying just to get to 15-20 mins. However, treadmills serve their purpose too. Good music or something good to watch distracts me enough to get it…

I've never heard of secretary spread. I exercise 5-6 times a week usually before work. Also, having a fitbit has made me realize how little steps I was getting in during the day. So I have made every moment count: 1. I take the stairs instead of the elevators 2. Make trips to visit co-workers/customers on different floors…

I love being the woman in the freeweights section. I more so like being the only woman in the freeweights section of the gym w/o any help from the boys. Just a high-five every now and then when I lift those weight and put them down like a big girl! Stronglifts! ::flexes::

I was thinking the same thing. The information is more prominant but looks a little elementary.

As most have already said, everything in moderation. Everything requires balance. There are no good or bad carbs. Carbs can be bad if you overdo it. Keep tracking what you eat, exercise, and create a caloric deficit. Also, as someone said make sure you have realistic expectations because if you don't make goal you may lose…

I do a general log of my day. I don't get crazy with it. I kind of know the amount of cals I take in from all of the logging I used to do. Also, I eat pretty sensibly and based on what I burn (Fitbit/HRM) I don't worry about going over my calories so much. Try to plan your splurges to balance out your calories, and get…

This ^. I've found that good nutrition has done so much more than for me than exercise. All in all, I believe everything requires balance. I would incorporate both. I love how my body looks as I have incorporated weight training vs. all cardio. I didn't like my body with just completely weight training either. Nutrution is…

Lately, especially because of the snow and sleet I have been working out indoors. I've been working out at home. I consider myself active and pretty healthy, striving to be fit. M-W-F - Cardio/endurance (Turbo Fire or On Demand) (4 am about 30-45 mins) T-Th - Strength Training workouts (Kettlebells, dumbells, resistance…
