Agrees with this 110%. I don't think of it as Abs work but core work. I do them several times a week at home and inline with my cardio days. A good core work out "works" and it shows.

I agree with what you say but can you recommend a better way to add friends?

Do women REALLY want to be hit on at the gym? Guys may think they do but do they...really?

A trainer at my health club had me a do a "modified" version of this...Check it out. http://www.menshealth.com/celebrity-fitness/gerard-butler-300-workout

I think then a good place to start is seeing what you do eat, logging it with MFP and making healthier choices. For example, let's say you have cereal with milk and juice for breakfast. Is the cereal loaded with sugar? Is the milk low fat? How much sugar is in the juice? Go from their and make healthier choices. Since…

Well, all I know is I cut out almost entirely pop (soda, Cokes, etc..whatever) and I am certain it was a contributing factor to helping me lose the weight I did.

Thanks for the response. So seriously, the first session of Stronglifts was maybe 20 minutes long which made me think I was doing something wrong so I stopped. It was too easy. So I am looking at 3 day a week Full Body now. This way if I get sidetracked and miss 1 (or 2 or 3) workouts in a row, I can pick back up and I…

Yep, I'm over my sugar limit just about every day but it's all from my food. No added sugar(or salt) here I agree on the separation I'm just thinking that would be extraordinarily hard for them to program....just sayin'....

Agreed. Momentum. My workouts never last more than an hour and most last only 45 minutes. I came up with a better 3 day a week full body workout that may work better for me. When I get knocked off track, this should be easier for me to pick up where I left off. Thanks everyone for your help!

Thanks for the info! I don't really want to be known as a runner, I just do it for the physical challenge. I found when I was younger, running really helped build my quads. Thing about Stronglifts and I have his spreadsheet, I found that I did the 1st routine really quickly, like I wasn't doing enough? What about when work…

Based on tape measurements, my BF% is 17% and I weight 167.

LOL @ tin foil hat RE: Scooby's site. He's cool but it is a bit unusual. I can go 7 days if I wanted which is too much I know. I was thinking more 4-5 with 1-2 days as cardio days. Goals? This is what I wrote down to start the year; "To have a Lean Body Mass of 161 lbs, a body weight of 175 lbs and a body fat percentage of…

Yeah, love/hate relationship with that site. Scooby's Workshop is good to. Motivation isn't a problem, it's finding a diet and exercise program and being able to stick to it and handling what to do when I get knocked off track.

Wow...4 girls. Had I had girls, I'd be in a rubber room right now.... ;-) Congrats on your decision to get healthier. It is a choice that will bear fruit for a long time to come. There are plenty of good people here with good advice. This thing works, trust me and welcome to the club!

Ok, less cardio? But how much less is less?

I use Optimum Nutrition stuff too because Consumer Reports said it has less "bad stuff" in it. You can Google it. I mix mine with milk or chocolate milk. Stuff is good and good for you.
