You'd be surprised at just how mental running is. When I trained for my 1st 5k in years, I couldn't complete the training runs at all. You said it right here...cut all this stuff out plus no more HFCS(high frutose corn syrup)..."He eats a lot of fried food, candy,chips and sugary drinks". He needs to learn to read labels and talk to his doctor first before starting a cardio and weight training program. He does all that, he'll do fine. It worked for me.

I am doing 3x/week of 9-12 full-body compound exercises. The rest of the days I do cardio at the gym. I take 1 day off per week. I found trying to come up with ways to work different body parts like "back and bi's" difficult and I'd lose interest. I can at least stay focused now.

Just limit your cholesterol to between 200mg and 300mg per day and you'll be fine.

I've started using fitocracy too. I like how it keeps a history which is something I was looking for. The interface is a bit odd but once you figure it out, it's workable but it is almost to the point of being buggy.

Your diary is not viewable so I don't know what you have it set to but the American Heart Association states to intake less than 1,500 mg of sodium per day. I go over mine too but I don't sweat it(no pun intended). It hasn't hurt my weight loss any. Just watch the kinds of foods you eat and you should be fine. I think…

I'm not in the usual habit of chowing down on my fish oil capsule and ground flaxseed I sprinkle on top of my cereal or mix with my eggs. Salmon tastes great too so I don't see the issue?

I have to admit, whenever I go I cheat on my diary. I just log the boneless wings. If I increase my frequency of going there, the next call I will make is to a Cardiologist.

I'll look into Endomondo but I wasn't jazzed about Jefit. I didn't like the whole counting thing. I just want something that lists my workout and I can change the reps/sets and weights as I go and it keeps a record of it.

It unfortunately is our "go to" place with the crew from work whenever we can't pick a place or we are in a hurry. I cringe when I fill in my diary for the day we go. Even the Lemonade has Sodium in it. On the positive side, 12 boneless have 44g of protein...that's good...right?

I had this problem when I play men's league hockey. Games were at 11PM or later. I could never sleep when I got home. With some people, late night strenuous exercise doesn't work. You'd think it would tire you out and make you sleepy but sometimes it doesn't.

Agree with what allot of folks on here say about running outside. My mind wanders when I run on the treadmill. What I did to shake it up on the treadmill was do what i call a "30/30 for 30".....30 second walk, 30 second run for 30 minutes. It helps keep my mind from wandering. I was at the Chicago Stadium in '92 when they beat the Hawks. I told a buddy of mine I was leaving after the second period of Game 4. He grabbed my arm and said "why, you may never see this again". He meant the Hawks playing for the Cup and/or winning it. He was wrong, thankfully but I did stay.

Anyone(was going to say just the gals but realize men are guilty of this) wearing too much perfume/cologne at the health club. Really? Is your BO that bad that you have to bathe in Old Spice or Curve! before you get on the treadmill next to me? It's a health club, people get sweaty. Deal !
