Hip flexor injury?

Anyone have any experience with hip flexor injuries? My left hip flexor has always been really tight, and it's really painful since I started doing a full body workout (cardio pilates). Needing some tips of how to relieve the pain, (ibu profen?) because now when I do any movement, even just walking it hurts. Does this sound like a hip flexor injury? The pain is at the side of my bum/hip[ area - basically where the leg bone connects to my hip (sorry I dont know all the names for bones!) Should I stop doing my workout until it heals? It hurts enough to wince in pain and to possibly take a pain reliever, and I don't want to damage it any further.
Thoughts?
ETA-Just looked it up and it looks like it's a hip pointer. I guess no more full body workouts for me! Which sucks because I love them
