Ignore the scale. In fact, just throw it out. If your body is changing and your clothes are getting baggy, obviously you are doing something right. What does it matter what the scale says if you look and feel better?

Public accountability. Give yourself goals and challenge yourself to meet them. Do all this publicly so you know if you don't meet your goals or you slack along the way others will see and shake their heads disapprovingly.

Bought a size small shirt without trying it on first thinking it would fit. Got home and put it on- it didn't fit.

YES I love my vibram five fingers!

Instead of maintaining, why not try to reach the next level- muscle definition? Don't become complacent just because you've reached the first of your goals. Now set a new goal and try to reach that one.

Not in Jersey now, but I've lived there most of my life until recently. Not sure if it's a good thing to advertise this or not... haha! Feel free to add me :)

Well what a surprise, that's how I found this site too haha! I'm also doing Insanity, just finished week 2. Feel free to add me :)

The support you get from friends is definitely helpful. Feel free to add me :)

A loss of 0.5 - 1.0% BF per week is healthy and you should aim for that. So assuming you lose 1% per week, you'll be at 15% in 10 weeks from now, which is quite doable and 15% is a good goal. You'll still need to watch your calories of course.

THIS. Seriously though, I love Insanity- best workout ever. WATCH YOUR FORM.

Hey there! It was because of my recent trip to Aus that I decided (yet again) to try and lose some fat. All the pretty girls in bikinis that I saw there made me very jealous of their bodies. Feel free to add me for some support

Check out this website, there's a picture that shows you where to measure your waist and hips. It's also got a pretty good body fat % calculator that I recommend you make use of while you're there :) http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html

I personally have not done p90x, but friends of mine have and let me tell you, I could really see a difference in them! They did say that they started hating the trainer a few days into the program... haha! I'd recommend that you not let the scale dictate the terms of your success. If you gain weight, but all of that…

Thanks for your input! I definitely plan on continuing the program regardless of what the scale says.

Don't go too crazy with it. If you can go cold turkey, more power to you, but I think even if you just cut down on your current consumption of sweets you'll be far better off than you were before. I'd suggest eating healthy and then giving yourself a REWARD meal once a week where you eat ONE candy bar. Don't splurge during…

Sure, it's all about calories in vs. calories out. But looking at the situation objectively, if what you're doing now isn't working, then you should change it until you find something that DOES work.

My thought process when I think about submission: submission -> slave -> master -> love -> fulfillment To me, submission is the fulfillment of a woman's nature.

Could be your metabolism has adjusted to your diet. It takes about 3 days to adjust- amazing, isn't it? If you aren't exercising already, I'd suggest you do some to increase your metabolism. As your muscle builds, increase the amount you're eating by 100-200 calories a week.

You can do it, Lisa! This site is a wealth of inspiration- especially check out the pictures in the success forum, truly amazing. Good luck. Feel free to add me as a friend :)

Not sure if this is going to help, but here goes anyway. I found that when I first went vegan after being vegetarian, I had to read the ingredients labels of everything. This at first seemed to me to be a huge effort and quite possibly a waste of time, but then I realized that this was actually helping me-- there are tons…

Ohhhh. Thanks!

What is a non scale victory and a scare victory?

That's certainly reassuring

You've lost 4 lbs in a WEEK?? I do wonder about the healthiness of such a sudden drop. Ah, but doom and gloom aside, congratulations! You're off to a great start!
