Climbers, where you at?
I'm looking for some climber friends! You know, the people who think living in a van is awesome, and who think climbing all day erryday is the ultimate dream. For myself, I've been an obsessed climber for the last 3+ years. My passion is mostly for trad, but I also enjoy sport and bouldering. I'm based in California, and…

Insanity- workout buddies!
Hello MFP! I just started a round of Insanity and finished my first fit test today. I suppose I ought to have posted about this earlier, but does anyone want to join me? I'm trying to lose some fat by doing Insanity, and I'd love some motivation from fellow Insane peeps. We could update this post with our successes and…

looking for friends who are not obsessed with the scale
I'm trying to lose fat, but I don't much care about the number on the scale. As long as I'm leaner and I'm happier with how I look, my weight is irrelevant to me. I'd like some friends who are on the same boat. If this sounds like you, hit me up :)

Looking for highly active and NOT scale-focused friends :)
I climb, ski, hike, do aerial silks, and pole. I'd love to have some MFP friends who are also very active and who don't obsess over the scale. Currently at 19% body fat, trying to get to 16%. -Jen

eating when not hungry
My problem is that I want to eat even when I'm not hungry. Drinking water helps, keeping busy also helps, but that almost unconscious desire always returns. Any suggestions for how to get over this?

Fatosaurus Rex, is that you?? (3-month challenge starting Monday, March 6th)
Here’s the deal: in this 3-month challenge, your beginning and end weight are NOT important. The only thing that really matters is your body fat percentage (BF %). As such, your goal must be a BF %. For example, I am currently 21% BF, and my goal is 16% BF. Weight will be used only as a way to calculate fat, lean body…

Calculating your daily caloric needs and macronutrient profi
The following is an article that has been posted and reposted many times, but I think it is important enough to post at least once more since most people on MFP still question how much they should be eating. It's fairly lengthy but well worth a read, and you'll be totally missing out if you TL;DR on it! This is a direct…

Chocolate avocado protein mousse
This is the best tasting chocolate mousse I've ever had in my life. It's rich, creamy, DECADENT, and, best of all, healthy enough to be included in a clean diet! Besides that, it takes only 5 minutes to make and requires only a food processor or blender. I would like to note that you don't taste the avocado at all.…

Burn the Fat 2012 Summer Challenge
I've registered for the competition as of today! Is anyone else doing this? If so, let's be friends and motivate each other! I'm going in with the mindset that I can and WILL win that trip to Maui. For those of you interested, here's the official page:…

Banana-pumpkin-cranberry-pear protein muffins (gluten free,
These were originally supposed to be protein muffins with pumpkin, cranberry, and pear and a sprinkling of powdered sugar on top, and I would have called them PCP muffins with angel dust, but then I had a huge craving for banana bread, and thus was born this recipe instead. The name isn't as fun, but the end result made my…

Ferrero Rocher-inspired protein bread (gluten free, 135 calo
Ferrero Rocher chocolates are to die for, but they're full of sugar and don't fit into a clean diet, which gives me sad face. On the one hand, I've been craving these chocolates. On the other hand, I've been craving bread. Instead of eating chocolate and bread and getting tons of unnecessary carbohydrates, I decided to…

Chocolate protein cake (154 cal, gluten free)
This chocolate cake is sooo good! It's moist, fluffy, sweet, healthy, and high in protein. It's got two secret ingredients: beets and black beans. What?? The beets give it a fluffiness and moistness like no other, but you don't taste the beet flavor at all. The beans pretty much replace whatever flour you would have used,…

Feijoa-banana protein cupcakes (60 calories, gluten free)
Feijoas are small, oval-shaped green fruits. According to wikipedia they're also called pineapple guavas?? Never heard of them called that before, but anyway, they're lovely in flavor- fragrant, tangy, and sweet! If you can't find them at your grocery store, you can substitute the feijoas for some other type of tangy fruit…

Dark chocolate-coated hazel-coconut protein bars (gluten fre
I was at my local organic/specialty foods store and saw some hazelnut meal on sale. I'd never made anything with hazelnut meal before so I decided to buy some and try it out. Welcome to this recipe! 1 cup Optimum Nutrition 100% vanilla-flavored whey 1/2 cup hazelnut meal 1/4 cup oat bran 1/2 cup rolled oats 1/4 cup coconut…

Chia-cashew protein cookies (gluten free, 67 calories)
I asked my friends on here for inspiration for something to bake. Feathil sent me a link to some chia seed-peanut butter cookies that looked yummy, but were full of sugar and next to no protein. So I modified the recipe (more like gave it a complete makeover) and this is the fantabulous product of that venture. 80g really…

lab-grown meat
For those of you chronic meat-eaters or non-vegetarians, if you prefer a less negative epithet, you are pushing scientists to try to produce meat in petri dishes in an effort to reduce your environmental impact. As a vegetarian myself, I find this hugely disturbing and unnatural. If you would cut back on your meat…

rant
About me: 22 yo, 5'4", 126 lbs, 19.4% BF. Not bad stats, right? Except most of my fat is in my midsection. I was just reminded of the real reason why I'm so concerned about my stomach fat. On Monday I had sent my mom my before and after pictures from Insanity. I called her today for our weekly chat, first thing she says to…

Another round of Insanity starts 2/13. Who's in?
Hey everyone! I just finished my first round of Insanity yesterday and the sense of accomplishment I felt after that last fit test was beyond words. I've made so much progress and my body has definitely changed, but I'm still not yet at the body that I want so I'll be doing another round. The next round will start on…

Vegetarian meal ideas?
Help me out, I'm trying to plan out my meals for the week and I'd love some new food ideas. Summer is in full swing here in New Zealand so I have all of this wonderful season's produce to choose from. I'm vegetarian (I do eat eggs and dairy products), and I'm quite the capable cook/baker. I appreciate all suggestions :)

lose vs loose
I've noticed a lot of people mistakenly use the word "loose" for "lose." It's becoming annoying. Please look at these definitions (obtained from dictionary.com) and correct your word usage: lose- verb. to come to be without (something in one's possession or care) loose- adjective. not close, compact, or tight in structure…

question about juicing
Greetings. This is a question for those of you who are experienced juicers or have some knowledge about juicing. I've heard a lot about raw fruit/vegetable juices being good for you, but what is the purpose of juicing? Why not just eat the raw fruits and vegetables? Wouldn't you get the additional benefit of the fiber if…

Help? Weight increase with Insanity
When I started my new diet and the Insanity program a week ago I was at 129 lbs. Now I am 130 lbs. I weigh a pound more than when I started, which comes as a huge surprise to me. However, I know for a fact that it isn't an increase in fat because I've measured various body parts and noticed a decrease in circumference all…

another new member!
So I've been using the mobile app for a couple days now just for the calorie tracking, but I've only just realized that there's a website to go with it! Somehow I missed that memo... But it's okay because I finally paid attention to the welcome page of the app that says there's a website, hehe. Silly me! Oh and I'm so glad…
