  • No mate. You're not 25 - 30%. Take a look at this: You're nowhere near the 25 or 30 guy. You must be able to see that? Which one do you think best matches you? Can I ask you a question mate? ..... What would you say to me if it was the other way around... You've seen my photo, I'm now just slightly over 11st... What if I…
  • yeah you really need to go back to your doctor this isn't healthy. forget about your weight for now.. you're already at a healthy weight ... the most important thing here is your mental health, please get it addressed as soon as you can. good luck
  • I think you are still seeing yourself at the weight you were before..... you don't need an old picture with your clothes off, I can see from the before and after picture you posted how much you've changed.... I'm sure you can see that you've lost a lot of weight.. but you need to be able to see how thin you are.... and…
  • You don't want to be 10 stone, that's gonna make you really underweight and honestly you would not be happy with your appearance. Where did you get this number from? At one point you said you want to look like tom Daley. Well I just checked and he weighs 11st 9.... And is shorter than you at 5ft 10.... So his bmi is 23.6…
  • Probably inaccurate food logging Not weighing stuff properly. Forgetting to log stuff, estimating portions, etc etc

  • Yes but you are already really thin. You may not be able to see it, but you are. You're not seeing what everyone else is seeing mate. It doesn't matter how much weight you lose... You still won't be happy because you're still going to think you're fat... The only way you're going to be able to fix this is by sorting your…
  • quite easily. I'm a guy and I COULD cope on 1000 calories a day if I had to.... some days I had trouble getting it up to 1200.... and now I've increased my calories (when I found out 1200 was wayyy too low) its even harder. What kind of foods are you eating? there are loads of low calorie foods that can keep you full up…
  • No. If you ate 1200 a day and did not even get out of bed you would lose weight.... the calorie deficit is already built in. if you do any exercise, you're supposed to log it into your diary and then eat back those calories (most people eat back 50 - 75% because mfp tends to over estimate calories burned) however... 1200…
  • Honestly matey, from your pictures I can see that you definitely have a lower body fat percentage than me. You absolutely do not look fat I promise people are not just saying that. But I don't think its going to make any difference how many people tell you this. You just can't see it yourself because (I think) you might…
  • Thank you for replying. Yes I agree I need to be a little bit leaner! I can do weight loss... Easily.... (Have done many times before) but this time I am armed with the knowledge of how to do it without wasting away muscle reserves! (Thanks to this forum) ...and eventually I would like to build up some of the muscle I've…
  • Thank you :) it actually feels fairly firm, but I just absolutely hate that I have this little "roll" of fat below my belly button that juts out if I wear a fitted shirt :( That was still there even when I weighed 140 lbs - presumably because I was not doing any resistance training. Planks and mountain climbers are…
  • Thanks. I started YAYOG today. I was really fun, but even doing the start up and cool down, the session only lasted 20 minutes, so I don't really see how that's long enough to get a good work out. But, its a starting point, nonetheless!
  • I think you're going to have to log your food! Its so easy to eat more than you think you are. That means weighing and measuring everything you eat. Even if you just do it for a few weeks to give you an idea of what the calorie content of the food you're eating is!
  • Good luck mate whatever you decide to do! Just remember what everyone here has said. You are not fat, and you don't look it. You could easily put weight on and still look thin. Make sure you eat enough tho, to gain muscle.
  • Yeah I have the book too. You can also download the DVD for about £12 if you go to the website https://www.marklauren.com/videos/you-are-your-own-gym.html Don't worry about it being in dollars, PayPal converts that for you
  • Hi I don't know if you intended this message for me or the op but its good to hear that its working for you. How long have you been on it? Does it make you feel fitter / stronger? I have the DVD not the app but I'm guessing its all the same stuff. I only got it today so just done exercise 1, lol
  • Its normal tho. You need some body fat to live. You just don't need loads. And you don't have loads. You're already quite lean
  • Yes. I think you are. We all are to a degree. But you seem to be seeing fat that just isn't there. Most people would agree that you're quite thin. You can buy them online. I bought you are your own gym last night.. You can order the DVD set off Amazon. For £18 Or you can just download / stream them all from…
  • And me I'm a nerdy geeky I.T guy who has never been remotely athletic. Because of this, I have just started doing you are your own gym, which gets great reviews, so I hope it can live up to its reputation! Maybe you should try out something like this OP, rather than as much cardio.
  • Yeah... Although I know this is really not an easy thing to do. If you want to, please feel free to friend me or inbox me. As I have a little bit of experience with stuff like this, I'll give what advice I can.
  • I read your previous thread mate and you said you might have an issue with body image. Did you see anyone about that, or get it under control? I've had a similar thing, thought I was fat, I just stopped eating. It left me depressed and ended up in counselling. So maybe if this is something that's affecting you mentally it…
  • Hi mate, I don't think you're skinny fat. Building up some muscle would probably help you feel better about yourself. I'm in a similar position myself, you're a bit leaner than I am, you seem to have more muscle which is a good thing. Weight lifting is what we need, but I'm nervous of the gym so I'm gonna try to build up…
  • Hi again vismal. I wonder if you would mind having a brief look at my pictures in the thread I recently started... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1319993-a-few-more-questions-little-pot-belly I have already got tonnes of great advice there.... Some people say go to maintenance, some say a 10% defecit... ...but I…
  • I have those scales. I know the bodyfat readings are not at all accurate. at first the readings were a bit random. but I now use the scales first thing in the morning, after having a pee and always in the buff. and the readings are usually within .2 of a percent.
  • The you are your own gym stuff looks great and seems to get some good reviews, really tempted to give that a try! Especially as I can try out the free trial video on YouTube. I also checked out the 5x5 lifting. Is that something aimed at beginners? (It seems to be but some comments didn't agree) Or maybe you need to do…
  • thank you. yes I think that will have to be my next step! thanks for your honestly, that is precisely what I'm going to try to do! Good. Obviously, I don't WANT a damaged metabolism! - I have had several cycles where I dropped cals over the years, but I wasn't counting cals at the time. hopefully none of this will apply to…
  • Thanks What is glycogen and GI tract? I don't know what that is? No to metabolic damage? Why?
  • Thanks. Yes. I have already seen that video, hence the worry..... So you think I've added the calories back in too quickly?
  • Hi again. Yes. I did do it on the lose fat gain muscle setting... It just told me to eat the same as my tdee / maintenance. (But I just recycled the same image for this thread) I did have a look at convict conditioning but the website seemed to be asking me to send them money. Do I have to pay for that? I may have a…
  • Thanks for the advice. There is a bit of fat in my opinion, but I agree the problem is mainly lack of lean muscle. I've thought of going up to maintenance, but wasn't sure about it. But yeah I do want to get in to lifting heavy. (Although I know the only way to gain muscle is a surplus, right?) I do worry that a surplus…
