You may like NiaShanks.com Learn to focus on gaining strength, less on fat loss and it will come. It just takes time. Lift heavy, some cardio you enjoy if you want and patience. Oh and an understanding of how your diet affects YOUR body.

NiaShanks.com, Jamie Eason's LiveFit trainer on bodybuilding.com, Ashley Conrad's Clutch programs or she has a couple free on bodybuilding.com also.

I listed a few in my post. As opposed to real oatmeal or whole grain or brown rice for example.

I eat any and everything I want and have from the beginning. No restrictions just calorie counting, haven't even watched macros & honestly haven't counted calories in sometime. I was too big, got pregnant and was huge. Now I have a somewhat misshapen stomach due to those things and a c-section. When I eat sugared up carbs…

Re: I like them bad. As do I. Unfortunately they don't agree with the flat belly look I'm striving for at the moment...
-
Agreed, everything in moderation including carbs. Eliminating carbs eliminates water weight which makes one see more drastic weight loss in the beginning.

Chocolate milk is a good protein/carb mixture for recovery. Or use a healthy protein mix. Foam rolling and stretching should be a staple in every program. Epsom salt baths are also a great suggestion. Ample protein supplies BCAAs which aid in muscle recovery.
-
Yes please do! Research good carbs eliminate bad carbs as much as possible.

I just wrote a blog post. Its really long but towards the end, embedded are some good references for a few programs that should help you.

Finding balance in my adult life. I was a super active farm kid & could eat whatever I wanted all day long. Real adult life & a real job, less daily activity caught up with me. Then I had a baby & have taken getting myself back in healthy shape seriously with the help of MFP to set a good example for him.

I do agree that children with disabilities are most definitely an exception.

My 2 year old 'gets' this.

Amen again!! Could not agree more.
-
Amen & I'm Mom to a two year old that will eat whatever I give him.

You are so right about the money! Thank you for that perspective!

AND one more time this was not a question about the doctor's motives.
-
In fact he did & said he would never do it unless I was sure no more kids.

I don't know never really looked into it but can't be worse than the c-section scar! The scar honestly doesn't bother me or my husband, it can be hidden under a panty line. Just all the extra stuff that can even be seen through certain clothes!

Thanks:)

Thanks for the support and advice ladies! As I said I wasn't looking for doctor bashing, that wasn't the point! I appreciate hearing from moms who have the same issue and feel that it might really always be there unless it is surgically removed.
-
That is how I feel, disheartened to have gotten where I want to be and still see this in the mirror!!
-
Yes it hangs and pools when I sit. If I stand up really tall its still shrivelly but 100% flat. Thanks for the info!
-
THANK YOU! This is what I'm dealing with! I honestly didn't feel like he was either, again I trust NO doctors but I was feeling what he told me, he just confirmed it for me.
-
Not saying its NO fat, but it is huge amounts of skin.
-
Thank you I so totally agree! That linked picture, mine doesn't look like the before at all. And yes shrivelly may not be a word but thats what it is. Shrivelly cottage cheese looking skin! I'm happy with my weight and I wear smaller pants than it appears I should because theres nothing there but skin and the pants just…

Thanks by the way! I like the term mommy lift! I need it all also!
-
Thats where I hold my weight too, although I did have a flat belly years ago. I am at a healthy weight now. Actually very happy with where my weight is just not the belly pooch. If I lose anymore I won't be able to sit on hard surfaces anymore as my poor butt has NO cushioning left! I lift 3x a week and run 3x a week.

Yes me too! Thanks!
