Amazing difference! Great work!

40-41 - a whole lot less than it was a year and 50+ pounds ago!

Lunges hurt while you are getting into them, jumping lunges still hurt me at times. The pain gets more manageable as your body gets used to it. Honestly if I don't feel at least a little sore then I feel like I'm not working hard enough. To me, stretching afterwards helps me more than warming up, but both are a good idea.…

I've never seen anything like that calculator, but I just punched in my 5k time and it shows my correct half marathon time almost to the second. Freaky!
-
As someone who ran my first half less than a month ago - I know how good it feels! Way to go, especially beating your goal!
-
Feels good doesn't it? Way to stick with it!

Nice job, sounds grueling! I did my first Spartan Sprint last month, I've got the Warrior Dash next month, then a Super Spartan in August and a Spartan Beast in October. There is a Tough Mudder around here, but I think it is about the same time as the Spartan Beast. Maybe I'll check it out next year!

Final NSV that I was really concerned about - my cholesterol has been high for years (and getting worse with each test). My last test was in July 2010 with: Total - 234 (mildly high, would be high at 240) LDL (bad cholesterol) - 172 (high) HDL (good cholesterol) - 34 (low and consider a risk factor for heart disease)…

Yeah, I'm particularly interested in the final 12 week period. I don't see much in your diary. What was your calorie goal, what did you base it on? Did you take body fat % measurements before and after? Did you find you ending up losing any muscle during your cutting phase?

A lot of guys like to have some clue that a woman is actually interested before they will put themselves out there and ask her out. It's tough to get rejected and you shy away from it after a while. I'd say if you want to show that interest, things that have worked for me in the past are touching (like reaching out and…

My wife is 8+ months pregnant, I didn't give up drinking (not that I do much of it). I didn't for our first child either. I also didn't give up sushi or any of the other things that we both enjoy that she couldn't do while pregnant. I don't know, it worked for us and was never an issue. I guess you need to figure out if it…

Can't argue with those results!

I've gotten into the salad dressings and used their bbq sauce yesterday for the first time... but where do I find their caramel dip??? I'm not even sure what aisle to look for it at in the grocery store!

That's an unfortunate situation to be put in, but maybe the encouragement you gave her will push her to keep on it. Maybe next time you see her you will see a positive difference!

For my last 10 pounds, I wanted to try to get really lean and drop my body fat percentage to about 7%. I was on a 1700 calorie diet and was doing cardio 5 days a week and lifting heavy 4 times a week to try to maintain muscle or hopefully add some. I dropped my weight, but my body fat percentage did not drop as much as I…

Update, I ran my first half marathon today with a 1:47 finish. When I first started working out less than a year ago I couldn't run 1/2 a mile without feeling like I was going to die. I need a nap now :)

Don't give up! Tomorrow read the headline on your profile and crush it :)

Gum... I go through a lot of it when I'm sitting at my desk working and get cravings. Trader Joe's vanilla meringues. Something like 28 calories of yumminess that satisfies my cravings most of the time. I usually have one a day. They are super cheap too, a $3 package will last me a month.

You are cute as a button!

Looking strong, WTG!

I just hit my goal weight last week - until Easter, now I'm up almost two pounds! My reward was setting a new goal, no more weightloss, but I still have some fat I want to lose while replacing it with muscle. Going to try to keep moving forward so I don't move backwards (like Easter!)

My primary hurdle was getting started, and I had to dig deep to find the motivation to want to do it. But the primary thing that helped me was finding a way to work out that I liked. I found a great boot camp class that I really enjoyed and I made friends there. It is hard to do it alone, and it is hard to do stuff…

Ok, I tried to make some last night but my ice cream maker didn't freeze in time so I had it today. I only had 1% milk which she doesn't recommend so I added 2oz of full fat vanilla yogurt in place of some of the milk and things turned out well. Chocolate - Peanut Butter Protein Ice Cream: 3/4 cup 1% milk 1/4 cup full fat…

I was never able to do chin ups, not even as a kid (not even in my skinny phases). I've put in a lot of work on them though in past few months and I can do 5 unassisted now, a couple wearing weights, and a whole bunch using even a 5 pound band. I'm trying to get to 10 unassisted but I've been nursing a bicep injury for the…

@Karylee44 you make the 40's look goooooood! edit: Make that awesome ;)

@LiteBrite, I love that you rock your own unique style!

I don't know about your relative fitness levels, or the gender or relative fitness levels of the people he says that he enjoys working out with. But he may just want to work out with people that are at his level of fitness. Or, and I don't know you, and I don't mean it as an insult, but maybe you are the talkative type and…

I think this is a good point. I think I will calculate using sedentary, add in my average number of exercise calories per week, and try that for a while. Then I'll adjust depending on how it goes. It's going to be quite a jump in calories for me, I'm a little concerned about how to fit in this many calories. Eating it with…
